Boa noite Larry!
Hi Larry. I just got my OMB Prs guitar. I have a MidJay Pro Ajamsonic ketron. How do I connect the guitar to the MidJay Pro. I know you connect the cable, but what setting does the Ketron have to be in. Right now I use the ketron bass pedals and the tonality pedal. What change is needed to use the guitar as you are doing in this video?
Press MENU. Touch MIDI - Accrd Style & Voice - Arranger Keyboard - RX - Set Global = 1 and make sure nothing else is set to channel 1. Then go back to STYLE and turn on PIANIST mode.
Hi Larry, Lovely video by the way, I purchased the OMB floor & guitar kit & Ketron SD90. I had the guitar kit fitted by a guitar specialist, Calibrated the guitar all working well in Chord & Solo mode with the OMB free app for android. But when I plug in the USB A into the side of the Ketron SD90, wait for a few secs, then this appears, "Device USB-Audio OMB Guitar Midi Connected successfully". Then you push the OK button on the screen. Bingo.... 2 secs later chords will appear at the top middle section. It all works very nicely. But when I push the button on the OMB guitar brain on the side, to go into solo mode, It plays no sound on the Ketron SD90, no chords yet on the OMB guitar App & brain flashing red & green light for solo mode. You can see its in solo mode & playing fine on the android phone. Is there a special setting for Ketron SD90 for solo mode? The Ketron has the latest OS Rel.2.0.8 04/10/2021, film. V3.0D. not giving you the serial no sorry....T=43.67 V=3.06 K.film. V2.0 . Also when this happens the Ketron SD90 won't go back into Chord mode & will not switch off with out pulling the power supply out of the back. Any help would be appreciated. Regards
You're lucky. When I plug the OMB into my MidJay Pro, and play a c chord, the Ketron shows a totally different chord than what I'm playing. The app doesn't play the correct chord either and the accompaniment, (style) doesn't change when I change chords. So far this thing is just an exercise in frustration.

Hi Larry great video. I have a few questions if I may.they are all related to the Ketron live style auto accompaniment mode. What happens when you try to play a chord slightly out of time ? Does the Ketron play nasty double hit sound? What happens if you don’t quite hit the chord exactly? Does the Ketron start playing some weird and wonderful obscure chord? What happens if I succeed in changing chords in live styles and then proceed to play some really fast lead ? Will the Ketron think that I’m play a chord and get confused and start playing something different? The reason I ask’ I am using an old shadow midi pick up on a Greek bouzouki and Yamaha qy700. And at the moment I have all those problems listed above.
If you want to have the arranger be LESS forgiving (in other words you are sure you will play the chord at the right time, or you want it to react even if played slightly out of time, then set CHORD MODE = FINGER1 or EASY1. This is good for Jazz or similar which allows the arranger to react IMMEDIATELY. However, this also means that if you slip, the entire band slips! If you are playing styles like Country, Pop where chord changes are usually on the down beat, then set CHORD MODE = EASY1 or EASY2.

OMB Guitars have going for years. But you try and find one. They dont answer mail. I've been following them for years and am not convinced by OMB guitars at all.. I am referring to the company.
We are going to be distributing these here in the USA under KETRON and so should be able to resolve some of these initial issues. Collaboration with OMB will allow us to market packages for Guitar players and once more provide them with tools to create music once more.
I can sell you the omb kit that you install yourself on any guitar. I have one spare if u want it let me know and I can make it a buy it now on eBay for you
Larry , on the 7 there are some great groves in " the jukebox " but they end real quick. How can you use them in your registration? If groves were added from the band THE TRACKTORS I would love that. Toby Carr
The app does have some sounds but if you want the LIVE BAND Sound, Live drums, Guitars ... etc, you will need the KETRON SD40, Midjay pro or SD90. The SD40 is the most portable coming in at under 7lbs and with a smaller footprint. Watch it here:- ua-cam.com/video/NWAXAutccqI/v-deo.html
The OMB app is lacking in sounds, it also works well with xmure which is closer to the ketron. I actually found the Ketron because of being an original backer to OMB. I just bought the acoustic as it's the most stable of the systems. I had 2 electric OMB built ins. I have spent a lot of time with them and know the good and bad. They sold way more acoustic guitars and developed fixes for it. I sold my electric as it still hasn't had the fix done. and you should change the saddles to graphtec right away to lose the plastic tubes over the saddles. I built 2 of the electrics and one was amazing. the other I had so many issues from day 1. OMB used my idea for a fix on the internals for the acoustic, which makes it stable
You can use the OMB Accoustic/Electric Guitar or Casio MG510 (both have Midi built-in already), or use the Fishman Tripple play Midi pick up system on any of your existing guitars.
OMB is faster (no latency) because it reacts to the chords as you press the frets (which means you do not even need to strum). May feel a little strage at first but you get used to. The CASIO (and all others) relay on you strumming first so the Midi pickup magnet can pick up the chord you play and convert to midi - so a very VERY small latency may be experienced based on your play style.
You can also just play to a Karaoke CD, wav or video file ... even easier. However, most real professional musicians want to play their instrument and not just sing along to a track. That is what make the difference and why these instruments are designed for them ... real musicians and performers.

Press either of the 3 endings (1 - shortest, 3 longest).
