- Hello everyone, I'll be giving a demo on requesting a ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance (PDI).
This PDI is essential for ServiceNow developers and administrators to learn and enhance their existing ServiceNow skills.
Let's begin by launching Servicenow developer page
developer.serv...
If you don't have an account, click 'Sign-up and Start Building.' Otherwise, click 'Sign in'
In this case, I am clicking "Sign-up and Start Building"
Fill in the form and click on Sign-up
An email will be sent to the email address provided during sign-up to verify your ServiceNow account.
In the email, click the 'Verify Email' button.
Wait for the Servicenow developer page to load
Select the experience you need, I am selecting "Developer oriented IDE" experience
This can be changed later
Accept the agreement and click on "Finish Setup"
Click on "Start Building"
In a few seconds, your instance is prepared
Click on "Start building" once again
This will open the Personal Developer Instance in a new tab
To manage your instance, switch back to ServiceNow developer page and click on Avatar
You may notice the Release and User role of your instance
To Change the role click on "Change User Role" under the instance action
Login credentials for your instance can be found by clicking on "Manage instance password"
if you want to upgrade your instance click on "Upgrade instance"
Note: Instances with no activity for over 10 days will be claimed back into the pool and all the development will be lost
If an instance is inactive for more than 10 hours, it will hibernate and may take several minutes to wake up.
I hope this video helped you understand how to request a ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance to kick-start your learning journey.
