Helen, can you sit down and do an interview with your mom and talk about the struggles of Hoisan people back in China? I think it's a story that needs to be shared. I remember you briefly went over how they were given coupons to buy stuff. Hoisan people have went through a lot and I think it's incredible how our families have made a life for themselves here in America. I'm so proud of Hoisan people.

Wow I didn’t know you spoke Hoisanwah! This video reminded me exactly of my house, literally down to the dish and pan you steamed the fish in lol. We also speak Hoisanwah and eat that dish at least 1x/week. Please make more Hoisanwah content! It’s somewhat of a dying dialect, so it’d be great if we cultivated more proud around being Toisanese.

when watching janet's tomato + egg video, i was so nervous that she'd accidentally cut herself with the knife because her fingers were always in the field of the blade.
thankfully, this stress was not present while watching this video bc helen's knuckles were always the first point of contact between her non-knife-holding-hand and knife (ie her knuckles were protecting her fingertips from the blade).
