sorry to spam w/ comments, but i really enjoy how many of the cooking instructions were given in toishanese (even tho i completely depend on the subtitles bc i don't understand toishanese) bc makes me feel closer? more intimate with you in your mom? something like that.
when watching janet's tomato + egg video, i was so nervous that she'd accidentally cut herself with the knife because her fingers were always in the field of the blade. thankfully, this stress was not present while watching this video bc helen's knuckles were always the first point of contact between her non-knife-holding-hand and knife (ie her knuckles were protecting her fingertips from the blade).
