For roulette remember to make space either side of defender if you are applying roulette straight it's not gonna work you will directly collide with defender
(And don't forget to practice sole plate drill otherwise you will lose the ball while doing it in crucial situation)

That helps me on soccer.
It's a great tool to have. It is not used every game, but it can come in handy. Esp when there is a loose ball and you can get to it in just a half second quicker than opponent you can spin out of the pressure.

The roulette was my first skill and I mastered it instantly
I prefer the maradona spin, it’s so much easier plus it can pretty much go past any player even older ones! I tried it with a teenager and an adult it both worked,as long as your faster than the person defending then your good.

The way I do it is different because I’d pullback the ball and then stop it with my right foot

tip: if the enemey is about to goal slide kick them but not in a very hard way so you do not get a faul

La croqueta better even for non tight space situations
They would be used usually in slightly different scenarios
For ex, 50/50 ball, Maradona you can pull the ball to you and it naturally creates a shield
But for La croqueta you already have ball at your feet
