Wow I know there in Mexico but I'm surprised how many Mexicans showed up and they were really lively. Must have been all their family cheering them on (I say that with love for our Mexican brothers haha)!

We are few fighters in Mexico and all the time we try to recruit more people in to the sports, but here en México buhurt, duels, and profight is to nerdy to the regular Mexican, is not like soccer ⚽ or box they're really popular sport... And buhurt maybe is too "whitexican" cuz I see buhurt is really expensive, 😅

I practiced the sport few years ago and left because of an injury. But in my experience I must say that many medieval fans, nerds and even bodybuilders get interest in the sport. But the cost of the armor and the weapons are very expensive for their budget. Yes, the clubs could lend you the required stuff, but the investment to really compete is particularly expensive.
And about the audience: well, the event was widely promoted in the medieval community and even in the tourism zone of La Marquesa and newspapers. The festival (because was promoted like one) was celebrated close to the Labour Day festivities. That's why a lot of people, many of them outsiders, showed up to cheer the Mexicans.

@@jorgeernestoolicondelatorr8442 Yeah basically were poor... I'm poor XD I guess thats the biggest gatekeep for us nerd mexicans.
Also I hate this, they celebrate this year in Mexico, the ONE YEAR im studying in Spain. One month before I came back to the motherland. Im so depressed.
Anyways I think mexicans in general may have potential cause for some reason were quite good at contact sports. There are quite a few normal people who know boxing, tae kwon do, muay thai or something. I know amateur boxing and Im a armchair historian... Im sure if the hobby got more popular or cheaper, there would be a lot of good fighters.

@@d.esanchez3351 yeah we are pretty good in box, but like me that I love the box, I started at 14 yrs old to 21 yrs old, here in Mexico are so many fighters, that be come a professional boxer is unlikely, but the HMB are so few fighters so in a lot easier to be someone in the sport, that is the real reason I have, and just be honest, is a lot of fun to hit some one with a Battle axe 🪓 haha 😆

THIS IS BOGUS. I don't care that this is in Mexico. You can't just keep standing up Mexican fighters that have gone down

There were issues with marshalling, but also misunderstandings. Looking forward for improvements.

Why did the Marshall stand the Mexican fighter back up after the German hip tossed him? It looked like a solid take down. I can understand why the Marshall made the German take a knee since he lost his gauntlet. However I can’t see any reason for standing his downed opponent.

You mean 3:27? My guess, or interpretation based on hand signals given, is that the reason why the throw was illegal was that the german fighter held his weapon by the striking part. That's not allowed currently. A separate discussion whether that rule should stay or not, but as long as it is a rule, then such a throw would be illegal.

Not sure about this but from the hand signals it seems an illegal technique was used to throw down - holding the weapon at the striking part? A rule that should be changed in my opinion, but as long as it is a rule we should not break it.

the mexico team was looking for any excuse to get the win, crying for a disqualification due to armor failure when their armor was falling apart even worse

Looks like the Germans gauntlet came off while doing the throw, so the mexican should not of been raised back to his feet as it was during the throw not before

@@sagelawler5462 I personally think that the gauntlet coming off did not have anything to do with the ruling.
