How wonderful it must be to be a music student at UEL and be presented with examples and words of wisdom by Charles Hayward, and to be taught such valuable life lessons: connecting with life, not just music or the next record you want to buy.
I'd have thought there would be some introduction for the students, some of Charles' history and discography to put him in context. but they seem blissfully ignorant (do you play in a band?)
Maybe, as he said, one day in the future something he said will click, and a revelation will occur (let's hope). Great to see a legendary musician I have followed since I was a teenager - still laying down the pulse of life - simply wonderful.
Thanks to those who recorded and posted this for the rest of us.

Everything this man has been involved with has changed my life, this heat and camberwell now are such amazing bands as is Charles’ collaboration with Keiji Haino

Love Charles, his way of thinking is totally his own in a really inspiring and surprising way. If you want a good conversation ask him about Kraftwerk being folk music or Kanye West and sampling. Total left-field thinker

@@dcashley303 oh wow you got to meet him thats amazing. Oh well I can see his point with kraftwerk being folk music. Interviews with any of the 3 of them seem scarce. Cant find anything with Charles Bullen

@@ciaranward3559 Yeah, our worlds just seemed to cross at one point in time (being in the same city helps!) Got to work with him on something myself and some others put together called Squaring the Circle back in 2014. Here's a dictaphone recording glimpse of some of the chaos! soundcloud.com/squaring-the-circle/squaring-the-circle-1214-extract there are some videos here too squaringthecircle2014.tumblr.com/

Yes, Theresa May got it directly from him upon his suggestion during one of their usual dinner meetings.
