I’m about to pull the trigger on this module (the Pro 500 kit) BUT the instrument expansion feature (IX) is something I want to hear before I put faith in that system of updating libraries. Could you download the free IX samples on the module and mess around with them a bit?? It’s sets of Toms, some kicks, and some snares (one of them is a sample of goat skin head on a Noble & Cooley snare!!!) Thank you for all that you do!!!!!! 🎉❤
Hopefully Ralf can check out the expansion instruments and demo them for everyone to hear. I maxed out my expansion slots on the Pro. Think there was one or two I didn’t have space for. They are all great samples, but the N&C toms are my favorite. They sound incredible. Sounds like single ply clear heads if I had to guess. Clear, full, and resonant. Every stock kit is a blast to play and sound so organic. I just wish they had left the effects in this module. I’m running 5 channels into my Behringer X18 Air mixer to add just a slight touch of plate reverb. Recently got the V71 to replace my TD-50x and keep the great digital pads. The V71 sounds are vastly improved, and I just downloaded a couple of the expansions and they are excellent! I’m using the digital pads plus the EFNOTE 3x kick and tom pads currently with the V71. I think I prefer the EFNOTE samples and tone variations overall, but I haven’t gotten to play around very long with the basic stock and downloaded expansion samples of the V71. The v71 is much more comprehensive in regard to tone shaping, effects, etc. However, the EFNOTE Pro doesn’t need much of anything to sound great! Sorry if too much info, lol.
@@johnnybradshaw7712thank you so much!!! Much like you, I plan to run the outputs into an RME interface and use TotalMix for verb/compression/echo fx. The V71 thoroughly impressed me and almost had me changing up my entire Reverb cart 😂
After watching this video, I think I’ve found an improved respect for this kit. It’s not that I thought bad of it before, absolutely not. But I now believe for the drummer who’s after the most natural kit sounding ekit available today, this has to be it. There’s only a few times where it sounds like there’s a repeat of a sample layer, I am listening out for it though. 95% of the time it’s as natural sounding as a well tuned kit with mics on it as possible. One question, do I detect a slight hint of room ambience added in post or was that over head bleed. I ask because I thought this module purposely removed any ambience.
I’ve only gotten to listen to this on my iPad, but I didn’t notice any ambience added to what I’ve heard playing my module. Of course, we’ll see what Ralf says. I just wanted to add that I think the way they were mic’d and sampled may add some space and dimension to the sound. I agree with your assessment about this kit. It sounds fantastic! I stated in another comment that I wish they would have left the effects in this module. Hopefully, an update someday to do that. I’m running out 5 channels into my X18 digital Behringer to add just a hint of plate reverb and get it set up for live use where I’m controlling everything and sending mono to FOH.
@ yeah when I say ambience, I do mean extremely subtle. Like a small room style, rather than a hall or medium size studio. As you say, probably more about reflection into over heads more than anything. It’s only on one or two kits too, not all. Still very impressive sounding system indeed.
I’ve got kind of a silly question Ralf. You’ve played about all the Efnote kits so I’m sure you have your preferences. I’m looking to go back to an e kit from my current acoustic kit. I’m leaving towards maybe the 3X as I can try and do a 3 up 1 down config potentially? I also already have EZD3 from using my last ekit. Are there any other kits that I should consider at that price point (3-4k CAD)? To me I desire a realistic playing feel. Thank you Ralf!

EF NOTE have the best sounding acoustic kits out there in the E drum market. Amazing sound bought to life by an excellent drummer!
@@Michael-xw4er Thank you very much Michael ✌️
We have been blessed by Ralf this new year 🎉
@@Ben-ic1ve haha, thank you Ben & happy new year ✨✌️🥂
Those EFNOTE hi hats are great to begin with. Ralf really brings them to life once again.
@@482jpsquared Thanks pal, they really are a pleasure to Play. Kind Regards ✌️
I voted for Ralf for edrummer of the year. Obviously we know he is a beast of an acoustic drummer as well!
@@jeffhelmlinger7914 Thank you Jeff ✌️🍾👋
Amazing drum kit and sounds ultra good!!
Efnote kits sound awesome, but still waiting to see what Pearl does
I will never buy a full e kit though. My a to e kits are awesome !
Sounds great! 👍
Great video! Id like to try this kit one day 🤘

@@steevidrums exactly, a small room or drum booth character. The different drum and cymbal samples have lots of unique character as well.

Other than triggering VSTs, no one comes even close to the sound quality of Efnote kits.

the sound is awesome, I don't know why you miss Roland's machine gunny, processed plastic sounds, but these are some real samples
Finally!
