Why are there so many free Hatton graveyards in the South? Here's run for your Robert, What do you want time your headstone or an epitaph. Maybe it should read here lies a great historian preserving the past for those who cannot speak no more. Rambling thoughts in my head at the end of the day.
Love the things they used to write on old tombstones. One I will never forget;" Think of this as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now, you too shall be. Lord pray my friends to follow me."
Love your video's, so interesting, great to see Robert and Codey with you, can't believe how many places have these graves/headstone and field markers, so interesting though. Loved the family name of this one, bless them, terrible that they have been abandoned though, love it when you uncover them and read them out, thank you for yet another amazing video. (UK)
What is missing from all those veterans in that cemetery is their flags that usually are decorating them for their service. Maybe someone watching from your area will reach and contact the local VFW or American Legion to see if they can get some flags on those graves.
That is a great idea! maybe Sidesteppers could keep a record of the military stones and have a volunteer group with the VFW to go into the areas and place the flags. Keeping these places as secrets might be important so the mean people from the public doesn't destroy them. I know it happens because a group of haters destroyed some old history in the California desert
All of you explorers need a backpack you keep in your car that has certain things in it that you may need when you go out exploring abandoned houses and or cemeteries . Flashlights , batteries . Clippers , small broom , water , but spray , gloves and anything else that may be necessary .
Robert, by looking up names, this is Ogletree Cemetery, in Stovall, GA on Findagrave, lists birth and death for each person but no photos of any headstones. No count given of any others buried there but the GA archives might have more info. Hope this helps!
I like to think,"found once more" when you all happen upon a lost one. I truly believe Jesus won't be long in returning...I watch for Him everyday to take His children home. We must keep in mind as we go through each day ,tomorrow isn't promised. Bless y'all for the remembrances of those that have gone before. I have very few relatives still living,I can understand how these places get little care. It takes a village to raise a child...it takes a community to care for the resting places of our dead.
I watch several utubers that go to cemeteries to remember the deceased but yours is most fascinating and truly a rememberance because of them being lost, forgotten and most being only known by our creator 🤴. GOD bless y'all for the forgotten cemetery walks and remembrance of these forgotten 💗🕊️
BEAUTIFUL place, some different and bigger stones!! I think it's cool when cleaning a stone off to read, as U wipe the dirt away it jus starts appearing to be read 💜 I love the serinity in a place like that. Jus the vibe to this place jus feels off... Dunno!! Lol Awesome stones an with some different type of script the size of the writing, alot bigger on some !! LOVIN the adventure from FL.!! 💜💜🌴🌴💜💜
Wow....neat to think at one point in time that place was probably kept up well with none of those small trees and maybe even some nice grass or at least field grass.
I confirm it.. I live in Italy and I was born here, any Italian cemetery is abandoned , for me to see these videos is very strange and anusual .. also sad. When I saw on these graves the words “gone but not forgotten” it’s not true .. honestly my opinion
As usual, another cemetery found, you never cease to amaze me. I hope people who watch, are finding someone they may be related to. There is much rich history just waiting to be discovered, it brings the dead back to life, and the living, their lost families. It certainly also brings attention to the need for clean ups in these forgotten cemeteries. Thank you Robert I, Robert II, and Cody. Glad to see Robert II back in his famous, bright yellow shirt.
He died in between Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bugle. Strange that they have his stone standing up when it is suppose to be lying down flat. He possibly died while transporting supplies in what was know as the "Red Ball Express".
It amazes me how many unknown graves y’all stumble upon in the woods and it’s so sad that they have been forgotten or maybe their relatives never knew them
Have been watching a few of the graveyard videos tonight and am very intrigued. Sad there are so many unmarked/unnamed graves...but God knows each and every one.
Why there's Robert 2 .. Hey U .. LOL. Thank y'all for getting by to recognize several that have already gone home B4 us. Sure is something to hear y'all "renew" those names. It sometimes sends me into a calm reminiscent stage. Remember we are upon the beginning stages of snake season .. please be cautious. Y'all b safe & well .. enjoy the weekend .. Robert, Robert 2 & Cody!!✌🏼❣️🙏🏼
As always, you give so much respect to the dearly departed. I'm sure this cemetery has a rich history, lost in time. Some died young. So sad. I wonder about the unmarked graves. "The unmarked ones are more important than the marked ones." -- Robert, I agree.💗
It truly is amazing what you guys find, so interesting. Sad that these cemeteries are now all left and abandoned, but thanks to the kindness of people like you, we get a glimpse of a forgotten past. Thank you 👍👍
I love your compassion in finding these cemeteries lost in time. Reading the names is very special. What a shame no one upkeeps them xx Thanks for what you do xx
Why are there so many abandoned graves? Also, after watching many of your visits; I also wonder, who owns the property where all the abandoned graves are found?
The 3117th Quartermaster Service Company was a Black unit stationed in Huyton, Lancashire, England. A Quartermaster Service Company would provide general labor or provide guards for POWs performing general labor. After D-Day, Liverpool was the primary port of departure for German POWs being sent back to the US. Pvt Williams could have been anything from a general laborer to a prison guard to a company driver to a cook.
I always amazes me what you find. At one time that must have been a lovely resting place. A lot of military service in one family. I hope it will be restored to its former glory one day. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Can you give us some pointers on how you locate random graves? I stumbled on some old grave headstones when I got a flat tire along I--77.. please do a video on how you come across these graves.
Found this cemetery very interesting on the amount of OGLETREE graves and family members were buried in this lost cemetery. Thank you so much for documenting what you did. appreciated. I found out that the name of this cemetery was called the Ogletree Cemetery, in Stovall Georgia, Meriwether County, is there ANY way to get still pictures of the headstones that you found, to put on Find a Grave, for all those listed??
Cpl (T5) Maynard L Ogletree was a well traveled young man. The 641st Port Company (6419 is probably a transcription error) arrived in England August 1,1944 and spent the rest of the war in Europe loading/unloading ships in and around the Port of Hull, helping send the beans, bullets and bombs to the front. August 2, 1945, they left the ETO for the PTO to support the anticipated invasion of Japan. They arrived in the Philippines Sept 12th, a month after the war ended (and 10 days after the peace accords were signed). They finally returned home sometime in early 1946. He didn't sail around the world but darn sure saw a lot of different sky.
Hard to imagine folks having the money for a headstone, but not enough to have an engraving put on it? ---I enjoyed the sound of that train. Out on the prairie of North Dakota, they sound like that. Nostalgia in buckets this morning.
it's so sad all those unmarked graves. their names are gone to God. thank you for showing them and the named ones too. may we never forget they were alive once and loved by someone who knew their names. now they are just part of our history.
Hi Robert I really enjoy and appreciate your videos 👍😊 Would it be possible for you to return to this cemetery and record the other Williams’s graves as I am making notes for my family research ? Thankyou in advance Kelly, Australia
I always look forward to these. Makes my day. Maybe the Williams/Ogletree Cemetery? Field stones are probably slaves graves right? Somewhere nearby a probable plantation owned by the Williams? I'm guessing.
It looks like some of the headstones are brand new The headstones need scrubbed clean so you can see in properly... why was the cemetery abandon? The trees need to be cut down so that area could be seen again and cleaned up.
Another lost one in the woods of Georgia. Many unknowns....

Where in GA.? I live in Warner Robins.
Love the things they used to write on old tombstones. One I will never forget;" Think of this as you pass by, as you are now so once was I. As I am now, you too shall be. Lord pray my friends to follow me."
This quote I also saw written on a skull of a monk on Mount Athos.
@Grundle Muffins I saw a video of humorous headstones. My favorite on was;" I told you I was sick."
Love your video's, so interesting, great to see Robert and Codey with you, can't believe how many places have these graves/headstone and field markers, so interesting though. The two Robert’s at it again, bringing the lives of people to light and enlightening them to us and doing a fantastic job of it.
Cody too

Another good one with Robert, Robert and Cody (the dream team). Love hearing the train in the background.
This is interesting that I stumbled upon this video. My grandmother was Iris ogletree.
That's very sweet of you guys, thank you for acknowledging the. Forgotten loved ones.peace and love my friends.
Thankyou for your time & speaking their names.
Fitting mournful sound of a train whistle. Thank you, both Roberts, for all you do to remember the souls who may otherwise be forgotten to time.

It's always sad and alarming just how many Veterans are buried and forgotten about in cemeteries like this one. Good find Robert & Robert.

I love when Cody comes along. You guys all are a blessing. Thank you for all you do.
Yes! What better way to start the day than Sidestep Adventures!
Maybe to end the day with

It makes me sad to think of all the lost graves. Shows we are all but a moment in time.
It is so sad to see abandoned cemeteries. In all my years stationed in Europe I never saw any abandoned ones.
I confirm it.. I live in Italy and I was born here, any Italian cemetery is abandoned , for me to see these videos is very strange and anusual .. also sad. When I saw on these graves the words “gone but not forgotten” it’s not true .. honestly my opinion
They don’t have as much land in Europe so people rent graves for 100 years, so I was told about Germany.
God Bless you Robert, Robert and Cody, thank you for Keeping their memories alive!.
That was just beautiful thanks. Love seeing the old graves, thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Love watching a fella on the Byrd farm, but the peacefulness of the grave sites and a fella's sincere voice is also welcomed.🧡
Glad to go with you three. Just so hard to believe there are so many unattended cemeteries in Georgia.
I'd love to have a rake and broom and clean that area up. Maybe get a crew to clean up those stones.
God bless there souls ❤️
Thanks for sharing 😁
So sad that some many cemeteries that are forgotten about.
Its sad to see all of those forgotten love ones . Isn't it nice to that the Lord doesn't forget where we are laid to rest

It amazes me how many unknown graves y’all stumble upon in the woods and it’s so sad that they have been forgotten or maybe their relatives never knew them
We have an old cemetary here that has some old graves without descendants or so it seems.
Most likely slave graves.
Have been watching a few of the graveyard videos tonight and am very intrigued. Sad there are so many unmarked/unnamed graves...but God knows each and every one.
Great job as always gents. These grave sites seem to find you, but im sure in reality it takes many hours of research.
So sad seeing all those graves that are abandon.
I love the train in the background.
Robert did you know that birth month flower for march is the daffodils.. daffodils remember to bloom when everyone is gone from the homestead .
Why there's Robert 2 .. Hey U .. LOL. Thank y'all for getting by to recognize several that have already gone home B4 us. Sure is something to hear y'all "renew" those names. Hello both Roberts how lonesome walking through the unmark graves with a lonely Train whistle going off 😔 great job as always 💯
It doesn't look too abandoned or forgotten since there's a late entry. I guess they wanted to be with their family.
Why does the state of GA not establish a fund to take care of graves?
Loved it, as always
It truly is amazing what you guys find, so interesting. Sad that these cemeteries are now all left and abandoned, but thanks to the kindness of people like you, we get a glimpse of a forgotten past. Thank you 👍👍
I love old grave yards!!
7:30 died on his birthday...makes you wonder what's the story on that
This was a big one. To me it’s amazing just how many unknowns cemeteries there are in Georgia. So proud at what your doing. ♥️♥️😊👍👍
It makes me think Georgia can not be the only state with lost cemeteries
Those epitaphs send chills down my spine, beautiful though.
Thanks guys. Your respect for those long forgotten touches my heart.
Great video and lot of history. A lot of military. God bless you all and keep safe 🙏
Why are there so many abandoned cemeteries in Georgia? I find your videos fascinating.
I love your compassion in finding these cemeteries lost in time. Reading the names is very special. What a shame no one upkeeps them xx Thanks for what you do xx

A fascinating historical cemetery.
I always amazes me what you find. At one time that must have been a lovely resting place. A lot of military service in one family. I hope it will be restored to its former glory one day. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Henry Ogletree amazing name.
This would be sure a good project for a Boy Scout troop to come in and restore.
Nice job guys
Can you give us some pointers on how you locate random graves? I stumbled on some old grave headstones when I got a flat tire along I--77.. please do a video on how you come across these graves.
I find these old forgotten burial grounds so peaceful. Unless there are old places like this that still accept occupants, I choose not to be buried.💕
If I could I'd go there and help you guys clean graves.IDID IT FOR A LIVING. 18 YEARS .
Found this cemetery very interesting on the amount of OGLETREE graves and family members were buried in this lost cemetery. Thank you so much for documenting what you did. appreciated. Nice...👍.
I always look forward to these. Makes my day. Maybe the Williams/Ogletree Cemetery? Field stones are probably slaves graves right? Somewhere nearby a probable plantation owned by the Williams? I'm guessing.

You guys make a great team! It would be more interesting to do a little research and maybe find an obituary for some of these graves.
