I don't see this talked about enough when people talk about the situation with Mr. Beast and Rosanna but Quackity also spoke out on a couple streams about him getting cut out of the video years ago, Rosanna didn't know this till after she said something about her experience. It kinda seemed to get swept under the rug for some reason idk maybe that's the effect saying something against Mr. Beast has.

The legality of recording a phone call is based on the state the call is recorded in. If she is in a one party state while recording the call then it would be perfectly legal.

This was the point Taylor Swift made when she came for Kim Kardashian over that Kanye call years ago. Because Kim did break California law by recording that phone conversation and letting E! broadcast it.
Some states are 1 party but not the majority due to the same expectation of privacy that applies to videos shot outside vs inside and other conditions.

When it first blew up online, I couldn’t help but feel quite disappointed when I saw a bunch of my usual news/commentary channels not understanding why Rosanna made a public statement and thought she was over reacting. Completely broke my heart when she had to redact her statement when mrbeast fans went after her..

However the fact that it was charity was never the the biggest argument since it wasn’t as if she was 1st place anyways. It was more of the dishonesty and unfairness that had happen to her/herbal workplace, and it does seem they both tried to discuss this privately but it didn’t work out. I may sympathize w Rosanna more but if MrBeast had them sign a contract stating he would be allowed to control the narrative and edits regardless of the event outcome. Then this story at most would be a cautionary tale about always making sure to understand what you’re signing up for.

I never watched MrBeast content and didn't really know who he was until this video, but I have the feeling like he is going to be one of those youtubers who will acumulate mistakes slowly and will start to leak. With more and more people speaking up until a huge thing is discovered, then people will look back at the "dramas" that people made for speaking up as clearly ignored signs.
She treated the situation horrible and make it look like she was assualted in her original tweet when in reality she just went from 3rd place to 4th. More and more people speaking up? It's literally only her, quackity has already resolved things privately with mrbeast like an adult, unlike her

I used to watch Mr Beast's videos coz he made big charitable acts look entertaining to get more profits to do more charitable things but his most recent videos have been "explosions for views" to do more "torturing people for views" with the occasional charity video sprinkled in

I never trusted Mr Beast. He seems too big on the platform to care about anything but money while making himself seem like a great person.
All he does is make money give some away for people to spend it away and reinvest the rest back to grow his business. I don’t like Mr. Beast, personally, but it should be mentioned that there are UA-camrs who don’t make money off of their videos. For example, Repzilla, he turns every video into a fundraiser, also has a fundraiser featured, and doesn’t make anything. Realistically, considering the average amounts of views on Mr. Beast videos, and how people do watch videos after the initial upload, he could be getting more than enough money to do this, aside from the videos themselves.
IDK how it is in the US but if a person did that in germany there are ways to get the money back that went into the fundraiser you described. Tax write-offs and stuff like that. I am sure there are similar ways in America!

I know it's been over a month but I'm going to say this: Jimmy's (MrBeast) videos are NOT about philanthropy. They are about entertainment. The philanthropy is a byproduct of the wealth he receives from the entertaining content. In other words he's not "monetizing" philanthropy, he is monetizing views and engagement. People love his videos, they watch them, he gets financial compensation then he gives his money away in another video. The philanthropic aspect is just perspective. He likes giving away money, it makes him happy to see others happy. Doesn't mean he's a frickin saint, just that he likes makes people happy and making entertaining videos. He has been this way for years, honestly. His first viral video was of him counting to 10,000!!

and having such a phrase exemplifies the nonsense that is that most people argue as if their idea is the only way to think and everyone in the world should think like they do. The different opinions about Mr. Beast's content - assuming reasonable understanding and ignoring misinformation and ignorance - come from different philosophies and perspectives. Does the end justify the means? Is giving random people money and gifts good or better to give to those in honest need? Should we be donating our money now for the needs of the world, or better to get rich and have more money to give later? There is no answer for judging Mr. Beast's content except through our personal views. He has one, and it matches with some of us, and doesn't with others.
Mr. Beast is just being a catalyst for people worldwide to discuss the various potential views on this moral dilemma of millennia. If only everyone realized that and used the discussion to develop answers for themselves and others, then we'd start making a much huger difference and influence for good ourselves - and Mr. Beast would be a nobody compared to the rest of us.
I've been watching Ro for the longest time and I feel so sad and disappointed when I see the way she's been treated. She deserves so much better.

A lot of people give money and don’t need to make money on the whole show of it though. Sure giving gifts and money to random people can be helpful, if it is genuine but it gives me the ick that he has to film everything all the time. It seems like he just does it to make the video and make more money, so like pay a little now to make more money later.

I have never liked him. Ive always thought there was something off with him. He doesnt seem like a nice person and he just comes off as a sketchy to me. I just dont like him whatsoever. If this was how people reacted every single time somebody attempted to do something to help Africa, pretty sure the number of people willing to help would dwindle quickly. At least he is doing something, vast majority can't say the same.

you get tax breaks on charitable donations, its one reason why rich people donate, it lets them keep more of their money than if they were taxed on it

People dont watch him because they think they'll be in a video... you'd need a visa, have time for like 2-3 days spontaneously, be able to fend for your own while production isnt on and you'd have to fly there if you arent from the us.

Mr. Beast does exploit those groups of people. Whether it be good exploitation or bad is debatable, but it is exploitation nonetheless. Also, if you have seen the stuff he owns personally, that stuff is VERY expensive. I personally agree with Jacksepticeye, if Mr. Beast wanted to make the videos because he actually enjoyed it as opposed to using it to make money, them they would be longer.

I think just like all of us, he's got flaws. He is most likely an implicit misogynist, not very thorough about what the consequential perspectives people will take regarding his content, and probably making content creation harder for smaller creators. I'm not a fan fo his, but I think it's a nuanced discussion. Polarized opinions wouldn't do the conversation any good.
I personally agree that while his philanthropy might not actually reap any long-term benefits for people because he isn't helping the people acquire those benefits locally (hence being a one-time thing) his personal involvement with the projects, and their success (however credible it may be) sets a higher standard of dedication expected from the rich. I'm pretty sure that whenever mr beast does them he truly means well, but lacks the proper methodology and nuance, because that doesn't help making a video entertaining.
So far as rossana is concerned, i think she may be telling the truth. As a people pleaser i myself know that most of us don't really know how to speak up or when, and i think she herself is that sort of person. It would also explain why she remained silent about Colleen. She might've condemned colleen more personally than we may know, since public relations can be different personally. Or maybe not, idk.
I think she may have...overdone and made it dramatic it later on, but was Ernest mostly. That's all i can say from an outside perspective. I do think that it wasn't that big of a deal, but thinking that MrBeast might've favoured his bros over a proper winner is a bit off putting.

My only critique on him is this: every time he shows prize money, it looks like a giant pile of scrunched up ones. I would be fine collecting that, but I'll bet the winner is given a check for the amount. It would be completely impractical to process that large of an amount in one dollar bills. Even hundred dollar bills would make for a logistical nightmare to carry away $1M.
