I’ve done something similar to your bolt trick by just using long dowels or precision pins. As a grind of mine used to say, you need to be smarter than the truck.

I have some big things going on and that truck is in those plans, might take bit though The orange truck goes a lot faster then 70, Speedo stops at 80 and one time late at night I knew I was going to be going by a radar sign. I put it to the floor and it flashed 84 at me!! Rpms way to high though, that truck isn’t governed at all
