Altina is my FAVORITE character in legend of heroes, thank you so much for this video!😆 Also you couldn't have picked a better time for this one, I'm JUST about to finish my 2nd journey through CS4 and I'm starting the "celebration" section to romance altina!😍

That line by Kurt really made me happy "right now, she is far more human than you are." This line shows the growth of both Kurt and Altina + it's such a good line for such a trainwreck of a situation they found themselves in. I still get pissed off and emotional when just thinking about the end of CS3. Altina is one of those characters that I genuinely want to see grow and be happy, like KeA, Renne and Tio. I hope to see more of her in the future games, even if she doesn't have a big role.
My favourite Altina one-liner: Juna: "Allie, did you hear? They're gonna get married!" Altina: "Indeed. I, too, was present when you witnessed the proposal."
I always thought it would have been cool if Altina's final bonding event in CS4 was just her asking to be officially adopted into Schwarzer family. Rean is the closest thing to a father figure/caregiver she's ever had (Black Alberich and Rufus weren't exactly sterling role models) and by that point in the story it shows how much of wholesome and positive impact he's had on her. Somewhat like how KeA took up the Bannings name herself.
My favorite Cold Steel female character. Her growth and her unique bond with Rean is just so endearing. I really like her as a character. Definitely in my Erebonian top 5
I haven't watched the video yet, but in my personal opinion, Altina is one of the best characters in the Trails, especially in the Cold Steel series. Her development is meaningful and affects the story as well. Not to mention how likeable she is. I actually love both her Japanese and English VA too, both did a fantastic job. I'm happy you're making a video on her, she's definitely a TOP 3 for me.
I think it was Britney when she worked for XSEED, she said that they had a hard time finding a VA for Altina. They were about to settle before Altina’s VA Xanthe Huynh came in and was perfect fit.
AMAZING VIDEO! Altina is one of my favorite characters and I'd argue has the most character growth out of anyone. And while we follow Rean throughout CS3, I always thought it was Altina's story that was actually being told.
Kinda obvious when you take into account that the whole point of Osborne's plan was to unleash the Great Twilight, of which the Originator Zero was a key requirement of which the only two potential candidates were Millium (Who, along with the rest of Old Class VII only had a minor role in the game), and Altina (Who was a member of the new Class VII, and as such had a bigger role than the others
I love how snarky she is and she has one of the best character arcs through the entire series. I hope that she will return as a playable character in future games, because it'll be fun to see how she's grown
It's not often that scenes in games make me emotional, but Altina's breakdown at the start of CSIV really got me, since she was blaming herself for everything there... when her fate was sealed from the moment Ash shot the emperor
i was hoping for her to end up in one of your Story Videos could be due to the fact that the last one is a quite distant memory for me but i think/had the impression that you improved considerably in terms on how to convey the Story could be due to her being so special or me who changed as well and just looks differently on things either way i loved the video Thank you for all your hard work ❤
These are so well made and fun to watch, excellent work my man. Altina’s character development from Cold Steel 2-4 was one of my favorite things in the series, she was easily my favorite new class seven member. Side note : Seeing Altina break down at the beginning of Cold Steel 4 STILL makes me tear up. Every time.
It's kinda hard not to, because this pretty much shows that out of all of the new Class VII (Apart from Ash, who was unconscious at the time), she felt the most torn up about all of it. Being betrayed and captured by the Intelligence Division, learning that she was used as a pawn to create the Originator Zero, luring all of Class VII into the Gral in the process, which resulted in Millium sacrificing herself to protect Rean and Altina, only for both Rean and the newly forged Originator Zero to be engulfed by the Great Twilight, and the OZ to transform into the Sword of the End along with Rean turning into a full on Demon (Yes, giving into his ogre power, but the Nameless One's attack caused it to be affected by the Twilight), and with all these events happening so quickly, it'd be hard not to be overwhelmed with emotion...especially when you feel that you're the catalyst of the events. Since ignoring the orders could've prevented this, however... they still will have tried to forge the Originator Zero, except Class VII wouldn't be aware of these events, since Millium only classed it as "Intelligence Division work", with the only tip-off being the Black Records mentioning the Gral of Erebos, and linking that to the Emperor's assassination (Simply put, it would've taken them longer to figure it out... and they'd probably get there too late to stop the events from unfolding. So in a sense, Altina gave them a chance to stop it from happening
not sure if this was mentioned in this but 0z 73 was originally the one destined to be the Originator Zero sword however osborne and the ironbloods got too attached so they needed another model to fulfill the role. It explains why altina wasn't built or known about many emotions they wanted her just to be the bare minimum for the sword since they couldn't bare to lose millium. Altina even said it herself before millium jumped in the way. Ultimately they designed her as a tool but with class 7 she grew into so much more then that.
@@jbird999cg Let me rephrase that, she was the only one letting this hold her back, as evident from the fact that she wanted Rean to kill her in Ordis and again in the optional scene in Eventide, plus the grief she felt when she saw the picture of the two of them (Not including the Empyreal Fortress, since her emotions were more stabilised due to Millium appearing in the wetlands - their attempted suicide was probably in a more...martyr-esque style) Lechter's attitude was more of a "As painful as it was, we have to keep fighting" attitude, meaning that he was trying not to let it bother him, and then there was Rufus who thought of the Homunculi as just a tool, as hinted at from how he didn't even bat an eyelid at Millium's sacrifice
You really see her growth in CSIII when at the end the reason for her leaving is ti help class 7 in finding information about Ash rather than the blind obedience she displays in CSII.
Oh God I miss the journey through the 4 cold steels. Going into the unknown was so satisfying... If only, there was any similar game... Who cares, what would, you did nit gave me time to invest and care about the world and characters... But that was nit Cold Steel... CS took his time... It was exhausting some times but it was worth it...
If your particularly astute for details you'll note that CS2 altina has a very empty look in her eye which gains a bit more life over the course of the following game among the other changes to her mindset
I only noticed when I played Cold Steel IV yesterday, but it's true. During the events of CSII, and up until midway through CSIII she had a blank look on her face, but in CSIV, she had more emotion than before (You can even see it in the change in character portrait in CSIV)

One of the few good characters to come out of the coldsteel cast. Altina has an actual character arc like characters from the previous 2 arcs and thanks to her being important to the plot the game can't shove it into a bond event. But what personally made me care for Altina were the subtleties surrounding her character. Initially we are supposed to assume that Millium and Altina are simply made different, 2 homunculi with different personalities due to chance or manufacturers intention. However that wasn't the case. Millium and Altina were created to be similar and their personalities developed or didn't develop based on their environment and purpose. Millium was adopted by the Iron Bloods as a full member and was shown plenty of affection at the very least by Lechter and Claire but according to the games dialogue the other members and Osborne himself also cared for her. Altina was always intended to be a sacrifice and this likely lead Lechter and Claire to not get attached to her out of fear of getting hurt when she inevitably becomes the Sword of the End. It is almost ironic that this very fear of losing someone comes true when Altina and Milliums fates are reversed in the Gral of Erebos. This neglect causes Altina to become or stay her robotic self and it is only when she is sent to help Rean and later join class 7 that she receives any amount of affection and opportunity to display emotion. Rean and the others don't know about Altina's intended fate and therefor just see her for what she really is. A person who was forced to be a tool and never had a chance to be anything else. Altina also has one of the more interesting confession scenes at the end of CS4. While I don't think anything would or should happen between Rean and Altina it isn't hard to believe that Altina would develop onesided feelings for the person who so drastically changed her life for the better. In that scene and the scene leading up to it we get to see just vulnerable and scared Altina is of her own emotions and Rean prioritizes easing her worries over his own relationships that he could have had with the other girls. I truly would've wanted some variation of this scene to be canon as its actually quite impactful for Altina's character, but hey gotta love optional bond events....
Have yet to finish CS4 here... to me it was more of a father daughter relationship between Rean and Altina. Rean prioritizing Altina so that she would succeed in life.
