You may enjoy the 2024 'PS2 PURGE SERIES', as we look as games in our existing PS2 collection through quick reviews of the games in each episodes. If they turn out to be more than just fodder they survive, otherwise they will be purged from the PS2 collection.
• NIGHT 1 - PS2 PURGE

The ‘Gentleman of Games Way’ to build a free collection:
Step 1: Hunt down games anywhere you can find them, remember to check them to make sure they are all in good condition.
Step 2: Where possible use the CEX App to ensure you get more cash than what you are about to pay, otherwise use your skills and gaming knowledge to find the bargains.
Step 3: Use the CEX App to find out what cash value our High street overloads will give you for all your recently hunted games in total. Make sure CEX will give you more (or at least) the same cash that you spent on your newly found games before you get to the store.
Step 4: Remember to set aside the games you want to keep and enjoy for your own free games collection. Ensuring that the cash return of the other games going to CEX will cover what you spent on the games you are keeping, and that's the key to making the collection FREE.
Step 5: Walk into your local CEX, be kind and polite, and exchange your games for cash. If your bundle is worth more cash than what you spent you decide if you want; more cash for future hunts, or a voucher to buy any specific games you want in your collection.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat forever and ever to build and enjoy a gaming collection to keep you and your loved ones constantly entertained and enjoying gaming for the rest of your days.

Im a big fan of the formula and how the videos are presented. Having a play through of the games you've bought wouod be good to see if they live up to expectations, or are straight into the trade pile.

I think I'm echoing what a lot of commenters have said but I don't think you need to change the formula much. Out of all the UK games collectors/resellers out there, you're my favourite. Your enthusiasm shines through and you seem like a pleasant chap in general. But as someone who's only been watching since January, I wouldn't mind getting a peek into the rest of your collection. Maybe highlight some of the gems you own or maybe even highlight some non gaming stuff in your room - those three pokemon cards (I assume!) intrigue me!

They are 3 real charizard cards and the bundle are Japanese cards, my brother is a big pokemon card collector and I borrow the charizards for display purposes 🤣
I don't think there is much to improve, one of the best channels for this type of content imo, always enjoy the watch, and your energy is always there and always feels organic and unforced, keep up the good work buddy

Personally i would leave the channel exactly how it is. You could maybe have more bootfair, cex on camera etc but your videos are straight to the point and not too long which is spot on in my opinion. Keep up the great work. Love the content 👌

As many others have already said, I wouldn't change a thing. I've been subscribed for a long time now and the current forumla works perfectly. I've seen other channels try and change things which aren't needed to try and stay relevant or grow the channel which in turn spoils it. You can tell you don't do this to become a big youtuber, you do it because you love games and collecting, same as all of us who watch.

I’ve watched your videos from the start. Your channel is by far the best channel I watch. Your videos are simple, well presented, great background, great gifs. My biggest disappointment however is that there’s not 7 episodes a week 😂😂😂 I could watch them all day! Keep up the great work 👌

To be honest I think the formula is great it’s to the point and not a lot of waffle.
However it would be nice to see you place the games you keep into your collection abit like retro ghetto does each week.
It will help show the progress you are making through out the year.

Nice to see some PS3 games this time and not 360 😊 I actually can't think of anything you can change mate. I do like the purge series you do now and again, makes me want to do it to get rid of some of my fodder 😂 I like the free game collection challenge you did, loved last years so please keep this going each year.
Yeah don't know why 360 is always easier to find than PS3 out and about. Cheers for the feedback mate, I do need to do the purge again the editing for that was just a very long nightmare but glad you enjoyed it. I'll keep TFGC going mate, need more games 😅🤘
Hi your videos are pretty good already the best of the few others I watch in the UK. Me personally I would like to see more of the bootsale footage maybe show this 1st then follow your normal style after. Side note The gifs are perfect I wouldn't add too many more. Cheers for the content keeps me motivated for my game hunting

Your videos are great, the format is fine the only thing that I would suggest would be to add more gameplay footage of some of the games you pick up, but every thing else is great

100% my favourite channel at the moment mate, similar to the way I sell/trade to build my collection so always nice to see other people’s pick ups. Got project zero 3 for £1 this Sunday just gone nearly had a heart attack lol

Fantastic ps3 haul mate, Sega megadrive collection i bought from you was well worth the £4 having hours of fun on it and reliving my childhood.
Was a shame that the ps3 didn't work but glad you doubled your money on it still.
Naughty bear is a great game i have it on the 360 too.
I'd like to see the return of the question at start of video with the answer at the end like you had in last years videos but honestly no need to change anything your videos are perfect mate.
Mate so glad you like it and it arrive successfully, I posted something else at the same time and it got lost 😡 I'm going to give naughty bear a proper play though. Mate the question went because it kept crashing the intro sequence as it was not a 'fixed' intro so had to go as when it broke took hours to sort out (lost a few videos to it) thanks for watching and commenting mate 🤘

Channel is brilliant mate, don't change a thing, always look forward to your vids. Nice length, love the gifs. I like the odd videos that's different like your GameBoy video. I'd be interesting in seeing the state of the PS3 "off to the side pile" feels like you have been adding to it for a while now. Perhaps another story time video about a particular console and the games that mean something to you, like the gameboy one. Work your way round them all.

Sweet week mate,good little haul…my phat backwards died a death on me this weekend…absolutely gutted,not sure wether to replace or consolidate and focus on 360 stuff etc 😢 as for your videos,love em mate,lengths etc are all good,maybe do some hunting videos etc when you spend some time just hunting,the gameboy one as well was good 👍🏻

I really enjoy your videos as they are mate, would be nice to maybe see some footage of a car boot visit or a charity shop/CEX every now and again but I honestly think what you're currently doing is a prefect fit and I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work buddy 👍

I watch every video to the end. You shouldn't change anything that you put a lot of time and effort into. The one thing i do miss is the trivia questions. Keep it up, love the videos. I'm still hoping to find a crt tv on a night out 😂
🤣🤣 I have not found another one on the side of a road 🤭 cheers mate, TBH the trivia question went just because I couldn't 'set' a consistent intro with it in as I had to change it and it kept crashing and took hours to fix when it did so I had to drop it for my sanity... You definitely don't need to change the videos, they are awesome the way that they are 👍. Some really solid pickups this week mate, shame about the games but then you managed to get the ones after so win win. Really nice to see quite alot of ps3 at that carboot too 😊

I think you nailed the goldilocks mixture from the start and that's why you've gotten some people to come along with you on the ride so don't feel pressured to change a lot for now.
I do have a small nitpick with the audio mixing, I can hear your voice fine but compared to the intro volume and the money change sounds, they can be a bit jarring so I find myself fiddling with the volume a few times during the videos. Aside from that, keep it up, love your videos 😀

You are 100% right and TBH I don't edit the sound at all because I struggle with it, that's why I stopped the purge series as I couldn't get it right I need to learn. The vids are spot on, no need to change! Only frustrating thing is I have no idea how you are finding this stuff so cheap? I'm down the road in Gloucester and people are well aware what they are selling and totally ramp the prices! Grrrrrrrr but top stuff keep it up!
I always go with law of averages mate more you look at eventually find the bargains, tha amount of over priced stuff I leave massively outways what I find I just don't show it I suppose 🤔 keep searching and thanks for the feedback mate 🤘
As a few others have said, I would like to see the games room get updated with your new purchases
Also some more footage of the car boots would be appreciated as they can be really interesting to watch
Oh and a minor thing that probably only I care about would be to have an audible update to the cash and voucher totals would be nice, because as you said I often listen to the videos whilst doing things around the house and don't always manage to see the totals in the top corner

I think Genji was a PS3 launch title and it's also on the PS2. Suprised you haven't seen it since it's been around so long! Great pick ups! I always see ps2, wii and 360 games at my bootsales but struggle to get any other console games! Great pick ups. I'm trying to trim down my ps3 games (don't have many now) and on the play once and move on mindset. Love the channel, very chill and to the point. And love the GIFs 😂
Cheers mate appreciate the feed back, they are definitely the most common titles to find out and about these days, xbox 360 in particular are very common. Genuinely never seen genji before no idea why but would explain why it's so cheap 🤘
Recently found the channel and love the videos, would be fine with keeping the same format only thing I would think to ask for would be longer episodes personally - either more boot and Cex footage or at the end pick a game from your collection a bit of gameplay why you like it etc? Or maybe a Cex graphic each time you show a purchase so we can see the trade in value, I know you do do this sometimes, But as I say happy with what you’re doing keep it up mate!

That Japanese ps3 game looks really interesting. Do you know if it ever had a PAL/NTSC release?

As someone that's going out of my way to get PS3 a lot for the last 5 years. Give it a year, I reckon will be gone as Sony won't see the point of keeping the PS3 store open.
Also, that Street Fighter IV you have was a HMV exclusive cover. There were quite few different games that had them. It's actually quite uncommon one. Took me a while to track it one down. As I love a Steelbook or sleeve cover.
Lastly, I enjoy all of the videos and I stay to the end. 👍

Also I have been doing that for a while with my CEX credit. I've got a stack of very uncommon PS3 titles to sell on eventually when the panic starts. The dumbest title I have that I will shift on is move street cricket. Bought it for £4, last one sold was £20 at the moment. Going to wait for the panic and see what happens.

I like the series as it is. 👍 Always interesting when someone finds something neither of us knew existed like that Genji games. Maybe you could expand on the series by doing a follow up after you've had a chance to play it.

First time ever commenting on a UA-cam video, just wanted to say love your videos, like you said maybe you could have filmed yourself opening up that PS3 and any other questionable consoles bought at car boots or charity shops 😂. You come across as a really sound bloke on camera. Keep the videos coming mate 👍

Dude you're doing a good job. I just started a channel and it's not easy. Maybe get out the room a bit more ...change your t shirt lol erm....... Shortening the vids could work. Background music? Gifs I wouldn't worry so much about . I'm soundling like I'm an expert which I certainly am not. But, I have watched a lot of other UA-camrs . Anyway keep it up, maybe try mix it up a little and see what's best for you
It's not easy at all mate to get it up and going but keep at it. Yeah I need to record hunting more apparently, I'm gonna try max the vid length. I’ve watched a few videos of yours, I’m not a subscriber (yet) the algorithm basically chucks me some of your videos now and again, and I usually watch when I do. A perspective from a relative outsider like me, is that your content ultimately is very similar to that of the ones that I already watch, that UA-cam also sends my way (retro rummage/retro ghetto/Beerad etc) Not that it’s a bad thing! However the bit I find most enjoyable in their videos is the actual footage of them being out and about in the boot fairs etc. Sometimes spotting things they missed, the discussion and joint learning from everyone tends to build community. However with yours I feel like I’m getting the cliff notes after the fact, and I find it’s not as fun for the viewer. One thing I find myself really enjoying is not just the boot fair footage, but taking us with you to local retro shops/CEX etc, and sometimes going through some of your collections/rarer items and hearing any stories behind them. Sadly, you’re repeated format doesn’t cater for any of those things, so I haven’t found myself hitting the subscribe button yet- even though you seem a nice fella! Hopefully this comes across as constructive..! Keep up the good work though :)

Agree from the comments from other people want to see more out and about of me find doing these things so need to look at that side of it, mine is a bit cliff notes over others as I'm trying to keep the length down. I have no retro stores anywhere near me but CEX visit I could start to take a look into, should be easy enough 🤔 and a look at my collection is a definite, I did some a while ago but a new video looking at them sounds like a good idea, thank you 🤘

A little tip for game hunting at the carboot, if youre at a stall on your own or not many people instead of saying "how much are the games?" just say "how much are these?" that way anyone in earshot cant swoop in 😂

The only request I have is to lower the noise of the sound effect you use to ad funds to your total money. It is very loud compared to the rest of your audio and often makes me jump. I wouldn't mind seeing more car boot footage too.

Shame the PlayStation 3 didn't work properly for you mate. Carboat in my area I wouldn't take risk of buying any console. Started an Xbox 360 collection so traded in 3 PlayStation 2 and 15 xbox one games 67 pounds trade in so I bought Xbox 360 250 g and 4 games 36 pounds then went to shop like Cash converter got 5 games for games for 10 one of the games is 10 pounds in Cex I got 4 for games free 1 pound each though.
The risk you take at the carboot mate, just got to always assume it's broken and then your ok 🤘 I tried my best with it 👍 oh mate that's a great approach to make the most out of what you traded in completely agree with what done there. Xbox 360... best console ever released, and I'll stand by that statement 😅🤘
