Love the review. Actually loving the lens flares of the Meike lenses. They're gorgeous. Will definitely use them to creative effect. It's like a super sharp prime lens with a 1/8 pro mist filter on it.
They can be used to great creative effect. Not everyone likes (or expects) flares from new, modern lenses however. The wider lenses also don't flare to the same level.
That depends on a couple of things. 1.) The camera - what mount, what sensor size? 2.) How do you like to shoot? Close to the action or viewing it from slightly further away?
The Meike FF / 135 and S35 lenses are a definite step-up in quality. You can use them with or without a speedbooster. Alternatively the DZO Vespids are a good choice, again these come on EF or PL. There are plenty of vintage lenses, Contax Zeiss, Canon FDs, Leica R, Olympus OMs. These are all being rehoused for cinema, despite being older lenses.
Can you explain what you thought was misleading? The information regarding how FOV changes across sensor sizes and how this effects focal length choice, is very much inline with how professional DPs operate.

EVA FILM I have the 12mm, 16mm, 25mm and the 35mm on the way from a Chinese supplier. I bought it through Amazon so should be OK if it doesn’t arrive. On the Chinese Meike site they are saying the 50mm will ship last week of April, but don’t know if they are up and running. The city the factory in whilst not in lockdown does/did have a lot of COVID-19 infections. I also got a pelican case with the Meike cutouts, it fits 6 Cine primes so hoping for the 50mm & 65mm soon......
@@evafilmbyantonioeva922 This lens was sent us by Meike a while back to test and review. The last I heard they expect to start shipping the 50mm April 23rd. There are lots of Meike lens groups on Facebook and that is often the quickest way to talk to their representatives directly.
No these lenses are for mirrorless mount only, MFT, X, E etc Meike does have new lenses for EF mount, both S35 and 135 / FF lenses. You can find these on their website.
@@EntretenidosNY we're presently putting a review together for the 50mm T2.1 that covers FF / 135. It's a great lens, the only issue is the weight compared to the MFT primes. The S35 35mm we haven't tested, that also comes on EF and is a little lighter.

Both are great lenses, optically very similar. It depends on the type of reach you need and the way you film.
