The Mercedes-AMG CLE Coupé: New entry into the performance coupé segment
• The latest generation MBUX with AMG-specific functions and displays
• Mild-hybrid six-cylinder in-line engine with double turbocharging and starter-generator
• Fully variable all-wheel drive and active rear-axle steering
Affalterbach. With the new CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe
, Mercedes-AMG is sharpening its product portfolio and redefining the entry-level
performance coupé segment. The sporty, elegant two-door model combines the best of two worlds: the agility
and sportiness of the C-Class with the space and status of the E-Class. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine
with double charging via an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric additional compressor has been
thoroughly modified and produces now 330 kW (449 hp). It provides a maximum torque of 560 Nm (with
over-boost of 600 Nm for 12 seconds). The integrated starter generator briefly supplies an additional 17 kW (23 hp) of power and 205 Nm of torque. It also feeds the 48-volt on-board electrical system. Other technical features of the new model include the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.
Typical visual identifying features of a coupé are the long hood embedded in the front end with two powerful power domes. The strongly sloping windshield and the elongated roof that slopes towards the rear also reference this. The passenger cell, which is set far back, leads to the sporty, short rear via the rear window,
which is also flat.

It’s equipped with a 449 HP 6-cylinder engine which produces 600 Nm of torque with overboost.
NEW Mercedes Benz CLE 300 Coupe can do 0-60 mp/h [0-100 km/h] in 4.2 seconds.
The Mercedes Benz CLE 450 Coupe top speed VMAX is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph)

@@thanosianthemadtitanicDefinetely. Mercedes said Cle is supposed to cover the coupe version of both c and e class, kind of an inbetweener. E63 will NOT get the V8 again, so no reason that the car that's sorta a "below" class will get a V8. Sad stuff tho, at least it's an i6, not a dumb 4 cyl.
Too bad the M4 is so damn ugly which is a shame.

Mercedes Interiors are easily the best. I love how they make all the up-to-date cars feel like the W223 S-class.

Mercedes is reading the room for trends of other manufacturers, but not the majority portion of their target market who are after everything that comes with the V8. Time will tell if following suit with the trend, and giving up a niche part of the market they have in luxury v8 Coupe's is the right move, but preliminary feedback doesn't look good.
A beautiful interior for sure, but not the future for luxury cars, which will turn back to physical (though high end) dials and buttons which are becoming more expensive (as digital displays become cheaper) and far more functional than digital, when driving and changing settings such as climate control.
Its a new era for Mercedes which will need to shift the demographic of their buyers. Expect more eco-friendly/electric/hybrid to come.

Currently own a 2020 E53, which is scheduled to go back in January... I will definitely be going back into this car.

They wont really be comparable though, except for the engine and drivetrain. Your E53 is based on the E-Class, where as this is much more like a C-Class. The driving feel is also a lot more sporty than the E-Class - even the coupé. Still a lovely car (i've driven the regular CLE and E-Class coupe several times), but it doesn't deserve to be called anything like an E-Class except for the exterior size, imo.
@@Lukerr239How did you feel about the infotainment in the CLE? I’m a person who likes being able to hit certain hard buttons/controls without taking my attention from driving. So I’m not terribly fond of the massive screen. But I love the exterior of this. Trying to decide between moving into a CLE or Audi S5 next. (Maybe M440i too)

As a BMW 4 owner gotta admit I love this interior. Front is somewhat similar to CLA AMG but they still look good. Definitely looks more muscular than the C Coupe thanks to wider body. But Mercedes what did you do to tail lights, very simple single line of red that reminds me the Infiniti q60

I agree totally about the B pillar
I prefer a thousand fold to have the torsional rigidity of a B pillar than to worry about its visual impact. For anyone that understands this they will think this everytime they look at any pillarless car
@@theelf152you could strengthen it elsewhere, but even for safety purposes I'd simply rather have it any day over a convertible or b pillar less design.

I went online and tried to find this 2024 CLE AMG 53 so that I could make a spec build. Unfortunately it is not yet available here in the United States. Guess I'll have to wait till sometime 2024.

It's amazing how people have been trying to "kill" the M4 for a decade, and the M3 for several decades before that.
The car it’s replacing, the E class coupe, is better in every way.
The 53 motor is awesome and needs more love. Too many people overlook it but it’s a balanced powerful engine.
Honestly the only part of this car that's E Class is perhaps the engine. Everything else design wise is C class. Even the interior is from the new C classes. Best looking coupe they have made to date though! Wish they had incorporated the pillar less design from the E Coupes

The E-class Superscreen and EQS Hyperscreen I feel are the sensible direction for Mercedes vehicles to go in.
Basically, a HUD, driver gauges and center display plus a display for the passenger.
In the near future, more and more cars will go with that.
