Jeagall I know, but then it sounds like the Pit Fighter is like a villain and the Grove Tender is his retarted henchmen that can only repeat some words he hears from his boss.
+Nathan Sauveur Even better: Stormwind Champion: For the Alliance! Frostwolf Warlord: For the Horde! Imagine having these guys attack on the same side lol
You know maybe I actually would've looked into that game if I didn't hear about it EVERY OTHER VIDEO. Can't tell if advertisers are stupid, or I'm just so much harder to persuade than the average consumer.
"Stupid Paladins" is a good name for every arena run. You're going to face a lot of them every time, and they are always stupid. If they win against you, they are stupid because they just abuse broken class cards. If they lose, they are stupid because they couldn't win even with those broken cards!
Combine The Great Summoner Competition and Battle of Tol Barad for the ultimate brawl! When you play a minion, get a spell of the same cost (not reduced to 0), and when you play a spell, summon a minion of the same cost! The ultimate in RNG is here to play!
Really? I've found it to be much easier now. In the last 15 or so arena runs, I've gone 12 three times, one of which was a 12/0, and haven't gotten less than 7 except for an RNG-ridden 2 win Paladin run.
Wouter Koks Mage, I average around 9, I think. Also Rogue, somewhere around 8 - 8.5. Also, correction, I'd gone 12 two* times, not three. It might be worth noting that pre-LOE I averaged aroudn 5.5 wins per run.
+Leonardo Freitas You do realize since it ll have all cards it ll be an unbalanced piece of crap right? For example paladin loses a lot of OP cards in standard, so bliz must make some new ones, well guess what you ll meet those new ones AND the old OP ones in every paladin arena deck.
havocgr1976 So says the new paladin cards work standalone? Who says they won't be archetype specific like challenger? Can't we wait until we see a single freaking card from the new set before overreacting?
+Leonardo Freitas Wasnt talking paladin specific, was just an example.Hearthstone has a terrible balance track record so far, and although I mostly like the change they ll make, they just shot themselves on the foot, making it 10 times harder to balance, hence the term "wild".Now they have to balance three modes, when they cant even balance one.Best scenario they ll manage to at least balance standard.Anyways, dont care much for arena anyways so gl to the ones that play it.
havocgr1976 Seeing it in a positive light works too, Blizzard finally realized they are ass at balancing so they made a tournament to see what classes would be the strongest in standard, they also went back to nerfing cards. But even so, it's all speculation until we see how standard actually feels like, let's at least be neutral to this thing we still know nothing about.
the first game vs Mage i wonder why you didn't send the Dragon first , it's a 5 6 , he would still try to remove it and you had a little guy with it in case he plays something big and you have to trade
Play for tempo instead of value. Trump still has to adapt to this, more. It took me a long time to recognize the meta shift, but now I'm back to infinite arenas. Pick 7-10 really good early game cards, 4-7 good mid game cards, 2 or 3 late game cards, and fill the rest of the deck out from there based on what you need. Try not to go over 3 or 4 catch up cards, because if you need to use them like that, you've probably lost anyway. Try not to pick any "win more" cards, because you'll hardly find yourself in a position to use them that's exclusively advantageous - Mukla's Champion is usually bad unless you're playing a token deck for an easy combo, or something to that effect. Board clears are amazing, still. Even for 7 mana, Flamestrike is still ridiculous value to the point that it's almost always an auto-pick. Past that, it just takes a long time to realize what the good cards are, what the bad ones are, and what the amazing cards are. You'll get the hang of it if you stick to it long enough. Keep watching Trump, but don't discount other streamers like Kripp - he's also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to arenas, and is a pretty stark contrast to Trump's demeanor and playstyle. Good luck, friend. : ]
+Daniel Norton Not just arena advice, but advice for strategy games in general. Watch players who are better than yourself. And when I say watch, I don't mean simply watch. Watch to learn. When the player is presented with a choice, and there is a choice every turn (Unless there is literally only one play. There is a choice on what cards to play, which targets to attack ect), pause the video and think about the choice you would make before the choice is made. Then see which choice they make. Regardless of the result, evaluate both options. Don't simply conclude that "X player's play didn't work out, therefor mine was better", evaluate both plays and try to understand the merit of both. Since hearthstone is obviously not a mechanically intensive game, doing this essentially gives you game experience and game "sense" without you actually having to play the game. You will have to take some time to think. But your free to do so without the restrictions of a turn timer, thus, you will eventually see plays that the player did not, plays that may just be strictly better. This experience will help you if you when you find yourself in similar situations. It will also help you view the game through the eyes of the player and understand why his playstyle is successful. This method is naturally time consuming, but it does, for the reasons mentioned above (and many more than I won't delve into for the sake of keeping this under novel length) have tangible value that cannot be obtained by simply playing the game. If you lack an understanding of the fundamentals however, it may be better to simply gain basic experience so that you have a firm understanding of the game before attempting to take your play to an elevated level.
+CouchPotato252 Kripp has always been my go to on high level arena game play. Hard to be more experienced than the guy who plays arena 8 hours a day. Unfortunately, he rare uploads his matches to UA-camr in the way that Trump or adwcta does. Kripps arena content are usually there in order to complement the topic he's discussing, rather than to show high level arena gameplay. And since my internet is turbo trash, I can't really view twitch streams. Even past broadcast can be a pain to watch at times. Alas, alak.
Everything animagamer2 said is completely true. I've only played a few thousand matches of Hearthstone since release, but I've watched probably 95% of Trump's videos since he started playing the game (closed beta?), so make of that what you will. Watching and learning is one thing, but actively paying attention to the video and saying to yourself "I would make decision X," really helps. More often than not, Trump and Kripp will explain their play decisions, making this learning technique invaluable - whether you plan to play the game just as much or just a little.
+Jeagall Soon™ They said some time in spring, nothing specific. There's a news section on the hearthstone site if you need more info. The announcement with this info is also right on the battlenet launcher, as all announcements are.
Silencing ogre then wrathing the 5/3 let's you only lose 1 extra minion saving you 3 :/ idk why you were so set on bomb lobber there. Too much rng when you could guarantee the trade.
Miles Edgeworth You dont get my point. Trump used to average around 8 wins in arena, now he averages about 6.5-7. Players became better, arena became harder.
Ninehills X Trump should've improved along side those players. It's weird to me because he used to be one of the best. I mean, even Krip manages 8 wins or more.
+Miles Edgeworth Isn't Kripp considered to be, like the best arena player? I don't watch him, but people say he gets a lot of wins even with mediocre decks.
I get so excited every time I see a new arena video from Trump, I think I should see a doctor
the best part is that I stopped playing hs a while ago
thought i was the only one with this "issue". :)
+Evgenii Nikitin you mean sexually aroused or... Dont tell me im the only one plz...
I think this might be gay.
have exactly the same, quit hs over half a year ago but still watch every trump arena video

That Blessing of Wisdom on a Stonetusk Boar...
Wow, exactly every other match was against a Paladin. I like when it's all symmetrical like that.
I like it when the Paladins don't have weapon cards.
Dat Redemption tho, just when you thought mage was strong enough they start bringing in paladin scumbaggery

I personally believe that arena has become harder lately. Am I the only one?
+Mario Magnanini It is much harder, certainly. I can't really get more than 5-8 wins recently.
not for me, 7+ the last 4 runs (:
Really? I've found it to be much easier now. In the last 15 or so arena runs, I've gone 12 three times, one of which was a 12/0, and haven't gotten less than 7 except for an RNG-ridden 2 win Paladin run.

What?! Arena isn't going to be in standard format? How does that make sense?
+MistaCheez How does that NOT make sense? Standard mode won't have naxx and gvg, arena will.

The time before naxx and with naxx paladin was still a good class in arena. Was not tier 1 like mage and rogue but was still good
the first game vs Mage i wonder why you didn't send the Dragon first , it's a 5 6 , he would still try to remove it and you had a little guy with it in case he plays something big and you have to trade

We still talking about Hearthstone here Trump? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Any advice on getting better in arena???

i know and that bottom appearing in the main manue is getting annoying xD
How did the first mage get redemption AND assassinate?
+SerFredrick Spellslinger at 0:38 for Assassinate (it says so under the card) and Redemption from the 6 drop that gives a paladin card.
Kinda missplay at around 3 minutes with the ogre!
Lol at DammitCarl
Who need to play around Shadowflame or MCT? Who needs card advantage? The face is the place? Trump, what has happened to you ?!

+Lol Wut no like Legelero
We all know arena has gotten faster, and Trump picks decks with loads of late game. I just don't get it. Too set in his ways?
Trump is best card
Why are you suddenly so terrible at Arena?!
Arena became harder. Ofc, if you used to go 0-3 arena runs, you still go 0-3 arena runs, so basicly you didnt notice any change.
Ninehills X Trump didn't get 0. I didn't mean he was THAT bad I just meant that as the pro he is he should at least be getting 6 or more.
Miles Edgeworth You dont get my point. Trump used to average around 8 wins in arena, now he averages about 6.5-7. Players became better, arena became harder.
