This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!
#ana #premiumclass #tripreport
Japan is one country I need to go to, because it's so unlike anywhere else on earth.
Completely Agree!
Living vicariously through you Kevin!! Thank you so much!! Keep up the great content and work !! ✈️✈️✈️🚀🚀🚀🚀👊
Appreciate that!
@@tfft Cheers Kevin!
ANA crews are amazing and really do go above and beyond. Back in 2019 during the Rugby World Cup, a flight attendant noticed that I was wearing a Japanese rugby team jersey and kept me updated on the Japan/Scotland game that was going on during the early portions of the flight back to the US.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
That bento box 🖼️🎨 I’m feeling really old watching the flight safety video where it’s mentioned “photography is prohibited during evacuation”…. Thank you for another gem of a video, loved every minute of it 🙏🏼 PS. Oh and a channel about all Japan, all the time…I’m here for it! 🙋🏻♀️
Was just saying I wish I had one here right now for dinner haha!
Watching from what might be a sunny afternoon here in England,,,always enjoy watching Kevin safe travels 😊😊😊😊
I hope it (the sun) makes up its mind soon! haha
As usual, excellent vid.
Oh, I love Hokkaido, its seafood, the dairy products, the chocolate (Royce chocolates to be precise), onsens, etc. And Sapporo Classic (beer), which BTW, is only available in Hokkaido. And a can of Yebisu for your lunch is quite decent.
I give you props for not including the faces of flight attendants, passengers, and people in general in all your vids. Many Japanese when they create vids are careful to not include the faces of strangers as a common, polite and respectful courtesy. If a face happens to be in a vid, it's purposely made hazy to protect the person's identity.
As for the exterior views, I noticed the giant cranes adjacent to New Chitose where a new computer microchip factory is under construction. And the views of the Northern Japan Alps behind Toyama on approach to Komatsu are spectacular.
Thx for an excellent and scenic vid.
I always try my best to respect crew privacy. Thanks for sharing ✈️
What’s not to like in that experience - having just returned again from Japan I always enjoy the whole thing - there is truly nothing like it to even compare - apart from it being above and beyond in many things - great video and loved the chilled Bento - I always purchase these for my Shinkansen journeys ❤️
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Speckling -- you don't hear that word every day. Had to look it up to make sure it was real, and indeed it is 👍. Always a joy your videos, and educational too!
Tbh, I didn't know it was a real word 😂... it just felt right haha
Just waiting for the end of this Japan series where Kevin reveals he's moving to Japan. We know you love traveling here more than anywhere else!
I don't think Japan Immigration is too keen on WFH expats lol
10/10 video as always, Kevin. I love seeing how high-quality pretty much everything in Japan is, I’d love to visit one day. Interesting to see a seat type that I’ve never seen before too, I don’t know if I’d feel self conscious or like a king if I sat in that single middle one!
In Japan, I reckon like an Emperor 😉
That landing reminded me of an old commercial with the catch phrase “Oh, what a feeling - Toyama!”
Or was that Toyota? 🤔
😅
Yes Kevin I agree. Japan everytime, all the time!😉
BTW, that might have been the smoothest landing I have ever seen.
As always thank you for beeing the number one travel inspiration!
Thanks for watching 🩴
Great views Kevin, Japan is really something special.
Sure is!
I have a trip around Japan planned for next March, your video tour is really helpful, thanks Kevin!
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
We flew CTS - FUK premium class on an ANA 772 in March with exactly the same seat. There is an updated version of this seat on newer (or is that less older) 772’s and 787’s.
As expected cabin service, drinks and food were exemplary, but I still felt JAL’s first class service is just slightly better.
As a full product, yeah I think it is a bit better.
Great music, it really goes with that super, super stunning scenery. Omg love Japan 🗾
Appreciate that!
I’ve also visited Japan a few months ago, but via Narita Airport. And the most surprising thing about all of Japan’s airports are the jet bridges. They look modern, spacious and build thoughtfully. The Japan experience really starts from there
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Japanese domestic flights are like underdog. They are drastically different than international flights
They sure are!
I remember flying out of Japan and seeing Mount Fuji in the distance...fantastic sight...plus i got some great camera shots of the coastline of Japan....flying in a C-141 starlifter....great reviews always..........
Thanks for sharing ✈️
9:18 heaven and earth difference from the lazy purser from your PR flight from a while back. (Had to bring this up because I heard you mention Philippine airlines early on in this video 🤣)
Amazing that ANA owns part of them lol
Worth the wait. Thanks Kevin. Stunning views and that bento box 🤩
Wish I had one right now for dinner! haha
Addicted to this channel. Another great video.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
The disparity in fleet sizes is probably because J-Air, JAC, RAC, and HAC, JAL's regional subsidiaries, are not counted. ANA's regional subsidiary, ANA Wings, however, is usually counted in the fleet size.
Fair enough!
Super glad you got the video up. Tha know you Kevin!
Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft sorry was supposed to say thank you. Spell check messed up
I've watched many trip reports about domestic flights with ANA, and I must say what I always find impressed is the bento box. It's just so high quality, better than any domestic business class meal
Agreed!
As a dedicated ANA Mileage Club member, I'm super excited to try the Premium Class one day! I hardly take domestic flights (only been to Itami, Aomori, and CTS for now), so I'm looking forward to that day. The food looked incredible! Cheers, Kevin!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Always stunning footage and candid reviews from you Kevin! I really enjoy this Japan series when you have snagged a handful of domestic flights on both narrowbodies and widebodies.
Appreciate that!
Thank you for sharing, Kevin. Love the content and I get to live vicariously through your reviews and travels (I'm sure I'm not the only one). Thanks for providing us with ideas on seeing the world.✈🛫🛬🛳
My pleasure to share it!
Great video as always - thank you! Oh, and the puzzle at the end looks like Singapore-Melbourne on Scoot :D
✅
Hahaha the Qantas title card again!!!
You'll see it a few more times lol
Looks like it’s out of ADL 😂
🥇ANA🥇 Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching 🩴
I am loving this Japan series! So unique and interesting. It would be great to see more in-depth series like this on specific countries.
I wish there were more out there that made it such a pleasure to plan haha
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching 🩴
Spectacular footage!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Nicely made video and am enjoying the series. On my next trip to Japan, I think I will just fly around the country.
Enjoy your trip 🗺️
Gotta try these guys
Worth every penny!
Always until the end!
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
great vid
Thanks for watching 🩴
It pays to research which side of the plane to sit, just for the spectacular Mount Fuji views. FYI, if you're flying south from Tokyo, you'd want to get the window seats on the right and vice versa.
Sure does!
Thank You ✈️
Thanks for watching 🩴
Love this Japan series. Thank you. Do you have plans to review hotels in Japan too?
Not as part of this series, no.
Use to work this aircraft.
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Loving the Japan series so far!
Edit: Are you planning hotel reviews while in Japan?
Not in this series, no
干净清爽快捷有序,很喜欢日本在公共场合的各种设计。
Thanks for watching 🩴
Very nice flight and an unbeatable price 🎉🎉 😊
Sure was!
god bless the flip flop traveller
Thanks for watching 🩴
I recommend you fly Air Algerie after your Japan trip. Should by quite the contrast 🤣
I actually did fly them- twice- a couple of weeks ago haha.
Great video :)
The upcoming video would be Singapore to Melbourne on Scoot lol
✅
ANA's true ZIPAIR competition is Air Japan, Peach competes with Jetstar Japan that you flew in a previous episode which JAL owns 50% of.
…I think that’s what I said 😅
That Qantas Link video teaser though 👀👀
Wait until you see the thumbnail for the video haha
Loved the vid as always. Btw as perfectionistic as you are, I spotted a tiny thingy😂 the flight stats, you wrote 40k instead of 42k😅
Yah, thanks for that. That mistake I actually didn't see, but I do purposly keep at least one mistake in every video. Knowing there's a mistake in them all allows me to be "free" of combing over each one for hours before publishing lol
@@tfft haha fair enough!
I prefer JAL crew. ANA crew were very bleh on my flights to and from Vancouver
Thanks for sharing ✈️
Nice to see your Japan series! Are any Okinawa islands part of your itinerary? 🎉
Not this series but for sure on my ‘soon’ list.
Domo arigato Kebin san 🥢🍚
Thanks for watching 🩴
Travel in japan is always an unmitigated Joy.
Agreed!
Great stuff.
Is Mount Fuji to become your 'Cuneo's mouse' - something that you will splice into every video from now on?
A temporary one at least! I think you'll see it in 2 more videos in this series haha.
Can you review Iraqi airways Dreamliner business class so you can be the first person ever to upload a UA-cam review on it
It's on my list!
Singapore to Melbourne on Scoot....... do I get a toffee? :)
No, only the first 12 to guess correctly 😅
Where did you stay in Kanazawa? IHG?
Hyatt Centric
Any plans on Air Japan videos?
Not in this series, but in general- on my list.
Hey can I have a pin I love your vids r specially the Sydney to Nadi on a a350!
Tell me the first video I ever gave 100/100 to and I'll pin it for a day 😉 (within 5 mins lol)
Why does Japanese airlines have (relatively) standard pricing for domestic flights vs variable pricing being the norm for most other airlines? And how much longer does ANA plan to keep their 767s?
Becuase Japanese airlines realize if they want to compete with the Shinkansen, they need to look at themselves as a form of public transport. Part of the Japanese travel culture includes walking up and buying a ticket on the spot for trains and flights. If they had dynamic pricing, they'd lose the majority of what's left of their marketshare to the Shinkansen.
Regarding the 767s, probably longer than you might think. ANA and JAL got some brand new 767s in the late 2000s, early 2010s, I believe as compensation from Boeing, due to delays in 787 certification. So most of their 767s are around 10-15 years old, they could go on for another 5 years easily. They’re quite the domestic workhorses for both ANA and JAL.
@@tfft Yeah, I suspect the Shinkansen is involved. Although that would also depend on the specific Shinkansen route. The Tokyo to Osaka route would be highly competitive with airlines. But a longer distance Shinkansen route, say from Tokyo to Sapporo, airlines would be more competitive given the time factor.
@@magnustan841 Interesting, I do like the 767s. You see fewer and fewer of them in North America. United and Delta still have them, but I don't know for how much longer, since they are pretty old planes now for those US carriers. I guess ANA and JAL may well be the last stronghold for the 767.
