This wonderful compilation would have been perfect for a screening at the Oscars if they had awarded Marni Nixon an Honorary Oscar...it is heart-breaking that they didn't.

It’s amazing how Marni makes her voice sound like the person she’s dubbing. The differences are subtle, but you really believe these actresses are singing those notes. Even if they’re not singers. I’m amazed by her versatility.

      Great impression of Deborah Kerr
Her voice acting skills are seriously underrated

Marni was fantastic. When the actress worked with her, like Deborah Kerr, a truly great actress, her performance was greatly enhanced.

Never mind that these beautiful , awesomely talented women could have held their own , Marni was just the best .

Only realised when paying attention to the credits of Sound of Music movie, that Ms Nixon played Sister Sophia. Small part but at least she got some deserved recognition. Beautiful voice. What an amazing body of work.

Thank goodness that Debra Carr spoke up and gave her credit for singing because they were not allowing money to talk about it

She played a key role in a lot of films being highly successful, as well as getting actresses nominations.

I doubt that she was compensated well . Without her talent many films would not have prospered.

My cousin was friends with her. She was on a seattle kids show called boomerang in the 70-80s.

    『紳士は金髪がお好き』のモンローの歌は、高音域のみマーニ・ニクソンが歌っていますね。^_^

That no no no part was all she sang from diamonds are a girls best friend. The rest of the song was sung by Marilyn Monroe.
And just to be clear, she never ever dubbed Julie Andrews. Julie Andrews world-class voice in my opinion was even better than hers and that’s saying a lot.

I was hoping someone would point out the errors in this video. Thank you.

AS IF Julie Andrews needed to have a voice dubbed in. That's all Julie.

You misunderstood that. She didn't dub Julie Andrews at all, she was the geese in Mary Poppins and Sister Sophia in Sound of Music. She did dub Deborah Kerr, Natalie Wood and Audrey Hepburn though. Audrey did her own singing in films like Breakfast at Tiffany's, but a role in a stage musical is much more challenging. Also Marilyn did her own singing in most of her films, Marni only supplied her voice for a difficult part in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

@@silverkitty2503 As well as an excellent singing ability (though a little too operatic for me in WSS and MFL - that's no criticism of Marni, she did what she was asked), she also had some ability to imitate the voice of the person who was supposed to be singing - so she could sound like whoever.
Pity Julie and Marni never (AFAIK) did anything together; would have been marvellous.

All the actresses sounded like marnie . Aydrey Hepburn could sing. Only high notes were a problem for her alto voice

She didn't! She voiced the geese in Mary Poppins and played Sister Sophia in Sound of Music, but Julie Andrews did her singing in both movies!
