"come and get me!" 😂😂 I love Dan. That happens so much more often than people realize, I definitely remember ripping off some techniques and licks from Lead Sails, Paper Anchor back in the day jamming with friends.
Great guys. Dan Jacob’s is so well spoken. I grew up listening to Atreyu and I always wanted his signature ESP with the blood stains across it. Still don’t have it though. Loved everything about his style and riffs. Good to see this band is still going.
To hear them admit their weaknesses and to be humble like that is fucking awesome. They have definitely accomplished a lot in the music world, especially as guitarists coming from a genre that was the opposite of mainstream at the time. The skill they possess as song writers is something I wouldn’t trade for all the technical skill in the world! Def shaped my teen years.
Dan is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. So influential to me growing up learning guitar. Still have and will never part with his ESP signature model guitar!
This is some truly wholesome stuff, glad to see these guys still obviously love the grind to getting "Good" at guitar even as skilled as both of them are!
Being a huge EVH fan and a huge Atreyu fan when I first learned Right Side of the Bed and got to that part of the solo Panama immediately clicked into my head. It wasn't lost on me!
the bridge of This Flesh is a Tomb, combined with the right recreation substances, will launch you into orbit and send you on a journey through the stars. Hands down the most uplifting ephemeral chord progression ever produced.
Got to play in a band for a very short time with Trav in 2018. I’m mediocre at best and Travis had zero ego, and was always rad and never made me feel Inadequate. Such a great player and a great guy.
That section and creature means the world to me. I know they played a multiple times in the song, but when they say "if you close your eyes tight enough and none of the bad can get in but if you close your eyes tight enough then none of the light can get in" really spoke to me as an angsty 14 year old
Right side of the bed is the song that got me into heavy music. Every time I’ve heard Panama the solo sounds familiar to me, now I know it’s because it sounds like right side of the bed lol the opposite order most would think I suppose
Love the fact that they give credit to Green Day. Massive fan of these guys, Right Side of the Bed was the first Atreyu song i heard and ive been a fan ever since
Hah. I'm currently working on learning "Fade to Black". Metallica is a perfect band for beginners. I'm paraphrasing but in an interview with Rick Beato, Kirk stated that he tries to make music that sounds good but is actually fairly simple to play.
Is there a cat near by these guys in the video someplace? Either that or there is one near me. Just outside my apartment as I don't have one currently.
I don’t know their names but the gent on the left seems to be a great person to have a conversation with because he focuses on the other guy when he talks or does his thing; whereas the guy on the right almost spaces out. EQ
@@lucapriati246 no problemo, start with their early stuff and move up for sure, I’m not too into the new stuff since their singer left, but their drummer/vocalist Brandon took over on vocals and they enlisted a drummer to fill that void, it’s a direction shift for sure but that’s life lol
While Dan definitely seems like a great guy, I don't think Travis is spacing out. I just think it's easier for some people to focus on eye contact. Travis comes across as a lot more introverted. But I used to absolutely love this band back when I was younger, lot of great songs and catchy choruses
Guitars without headstock should be outlawed and people that play them should be banned from ever playing guitar again. All I can think about when I see them is like lame 80s bands. Duran Duran or Kajagoogoo
I can't get into anything past Lead Sails. Tried many times. Seems like most of their favorite music they've written was older shit, and when Alex was still the frontman. Ironic isn't it? Almost like they should have just continued that path, and not booted Alex..
This band is probably the worst live band I’ve EVER heard. It made me lose respect for them cause I used to like them. The singer is what sucked so bad. Off key and forgetting words
Used to absolutely love Atreyu when I was a young guy, haven't listened to them in years. Thanks for the nostalgia
Do NOT listen to their new stuff, keep you virginity (and sanity).
The fact that these guys never snuck The NeverEnding Story theme as a riff into a song is criminal.
Very every Very!!!
Hearing Dan Jacobs play Basketcase just brought my entire childhood together.
"come and get me!" 😂😂 I love Dan. That happens so much more often than people realize, I definitely remember ripping off some techniques and licks from Lead Sails, Paper Anchor back in the day jamming with friends.
Love that Dan mentioned blow, love that song. Skid Row was one of my favorites as a young kid, and blow gave me a skid row vibe.

Clicked just to see that balaguer hyperion in antigua burst
nice pic
Not often you can have a neon orange explorer with a full sushi platter epoxied into the top and still be out-guitar'd.
Yes caught my eye right away too!
same lol
@@Gojirasu thanks, u too ;)

Can't unhear now.
These guys have been around a long time now. Really great guitar players
Blow is such a banger riff!! My favorite of Atreyu's!!🤘

As a guitar player and lifelong Atreyu lover this was an absolute delight and treat.
I saw these guys in Goleta CA at "The Living Room" in 2002. A7X was their direct support! lol 😂

Came for the sick riffs, stayed for the adorable kitten meows the little guy has good timing

Best lyrics too
Glad to hear them mention both Creature and My Sanity on the Funeral Pyre. Great tunes.
no band has had more influence on my guitar playing style then Atreyu - LONG LIVE !!!
Travis getting sober motivated me to get sober. Thank you Travis!!!
dudes seem really humble. make me want to go listen to some new shit by them

I loved this. I haven't played with the same fascination, and the joy and personal victories I had learning with those Metallica songs. 🤘🤘🤘
ah the ever-divisive antigua finish, a.k.a. Pissburst. I love it personally, especially on that Balaguer.
I loved all of their album
Not into this band but love when rock dudes like these two are cool and funny.
Damnnnnn I haven’t listened to atreyu for a LONGGGGGGG TIME! Ever since “A deathgrip on yesterday”
Love this so much! Solid shit
I remember the days where they were endorsed by esp and falling down nusic video was at the end of a move that was showed on CW
i learned lay it down by ratt also. KILLER riff

10:10 love right side of the bed. So funny that solo was the solo that i learned when first learning guitar amd never new he got it from van Halen
I'll take an Atreyu over over every single new band that's out today. Good on ya 🤙
They‘ve teached me one important lesson on their Europe Tour:“If you don‘t fart, you will die!“ ❤️🔥
My first solo was one of theirs. Lipgloss and Black.
Reppin that Nailbomb shirt very nice
my fork in the road is the best riff
Was thinking I’d be hearing their riffs
haha being a huge van halen fan as a kid i picked the panama part in right side of the bed , but it's still a cool song :p
I'm glad Blow and Root got some love!
As soon as I heard Dan play that tapping from Panama the first thing I thought was "Right Side of the Bed no fucking way" lol
Where’s the bloody explorer that thing was sick , also learned both those songs when I started playing as well lol
LOVE the Blow riff
Someone’s cat is meowing like crazy during this whole video and it’s hilarious
That orange Kiesel is nightmare fuel tier.
I think that’s Dan’s bento box one, it’s so badass

....so my guy casually switch's from a green guitar to an Orange guitar. I digs this... lol
I hear a cat that sounds pissed that it can't come in and play 😅 Poor kitty
Needs treats
The tone is in the speaker!
guitars are made of 🪵
Is there a cat near by these guys in the video someplace? Either that or there is one near me. Just outside my apartment as I don't have one currently.
No, there was definitely a cat by them. I heard it too. lol

Dan Jacobs on the left, Travis Miguel on the right

Are you guys both using the “insane” preset on a line 6 spider? 😂😂😂
the suicide notes record taught me guitar
Sweet vid, hi cat
Ha awesome, One is what made me want to play guitar, so I learned that first
I would like to se the favorite riffs from.matt heafy from Trivium
my man
learning One will have you putting triplets in every song you learn there after.
nice 🪓
root by deftones gave me berlin-metro vibes
One day these guys will start a melodeath band! I hope at least
Is that headless available through Kiesel?
Cool dudes!
July 2006. Front row for Atreyu at Mark’s Showplace. A strip club in Bedford NH 😮😂
Dan's guitar is kinda crazy
I miss old Atreyu, that is all.
What’s the greatest guitar color and why is it Antigua burst 😂😂
F**k yeah NAILBOMB shirt!!!
That's Nailbomb I'm pretty sure buddy. Very different name
*band I mean
@@dakotakoll-is3rg , I didn’t see that auto correct changed it 🤬, good looking out 😉
No bloody dj600? 😢
Bleeding Masacaraaaaa
No one called him out on ripping off sound
i dont believe any of those guys for not being a total "Disposable heroes" fans
bareknuckle nailbomb?
At least they have taste in tee shirts
First song I ever learned on guitar was an Atreyu song. Started playing guitar in an Atreyu/As I Lay Dying cover band.
Sorry about Artax..😢
11:55! That's the jam!
sustainer on a hardtail guitar sounds fun...
These guys need to bring their old singer back
4:06 Better than Ezra or Green day
Green Day - When I come around

He looks foolish with that headless guitar. Dont matter how bright the colors are, or the fret inlays, that guitar is just dumb.
first yippie

Not a very strong lead player at all lol
That Green Day riff was cringe brah! Total Fah King Cringe!
Atreyu still sucks.....
cool story bro
