- This sunny Saturday we walk in the city of Mainz. The location at Rhine and the Main river gave it a trade importance, yet it was the Mainzer Johannes Gutenberg which influenced Europe and beyond with his invention of the movable-type printing press.
We start the walk at the central train station and walk towards the Old Town. There we see the busy farmer's market around the Mainzer Dom. In the Rhine area much of the German wine is produced and many people enjoy this sunny day in spring with a drink.
The walk continues and goes back to the train station for a full hour experiencing this city between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden.

Yes indeed. and now we can see from the video of 2021' i think it was in Mainz where people out in fresh air walking around the city with masks on, some completely covering also the Nose and then not covering nose and then as it is just like in the US they also wear it under their Chin. People are the same where ever you go. Choose to live free without Fear, folks. Great video again. maybe next video he can explore 'Die Neustadt' very interesting how it changed over the last 35 years

Lived in Mainz/Gonsenheim from January 61 to January 63. At that time there was still considerable rebuilding from WWII still going on. That area around the Hauptbahnhoff was a sea of the cranes that rise with the building as construction progresses. Mainz is pretty much the center of Faushing (sp?) in Germany. Faushing is the equivalent of Mardi Gras over here.
Yes, the biggest carnival ("Fasching") places in Germany probably are Cologne, Düsseldorf and then the celebrations in Mainz.

@@efizervou9843 hey, I was a student, so struggles were not really important or noticeable. People in Mainz are warm and friendly. My Uni there took good care of me for that I didn't experience major challenges. Back to life in Mainz, I wouldn't mind going back as a visitor. It is a Uni city, a lot of night clubs, restaurants, the best public transport.. nice apartments. very cosmopolitan

@@efizervou9843 ooh yes, DAAD program was very busy then. They took us to different cities. Basically every weekend there were activities. Also, you will meet have a chance to meet up with other international students and plan your own side trips. I personally visited lots of cities and small town not too far from Mainz...

@@Alta626 wunderbar.i get back to mainz at least once sometime 2 or 3 times a year.when the train pulls in Mainz Hbf after arriving from The flughafen its like a euphoria kicks in almost like in the movie from a scene from the movie Back to the Future.
Im in my 40's now, but walking around the streets takes me back to my days as a teenager the smells the sights it compares to nowhere in the world...if any thing I claim mainz as home NOT the USA....

I keep releasing 2-3 videos per week and eventually it'll be the turn for Mainz again. It's one of my favourite cities in Germany.

Apparently, all the city streets in the vast majority of the world are very akin. During several minutes, this could be a walk in Germany, Italy or, at least, any other European nation. Only some buildings and monuments lend a certain distinctive character to much of the cities (even cities as beautiful as Mainz is).

Ja, schon cool. :-) Ohne Blickkontakt werde ich nur in Asien beachtet und angestarrt, doch dann bin ich schon weiter. Die Camera ist recht klein und ich werde sonst nur nebenbei beachtet, weil ich eben auch noch Photos schieße. In Deutschland versuche ich, die Gesichter ganz bewusst zu vermeiden und drehe mich leicht von den Leuten weg.

@@johannesmuller9421 If you like your windows to look like blank television screens I guess you won't have many problems with modern architecture (I envy you)--I prefer windows with at least some kind of latticework (auf Deutsch Sprossenfenster, glaube ich)--(I thought I was being charitable in not asking for the whole building to be replaced 🤔--although I must concede it is by far NOT the worst "building" along this stretch...)

These towns are hardly known outside of Germany so I will see how they will work on the channel. Maybe I'll put them in a membership section first or get back to 3 posts per week where one per week is always Germany...

It's a very crowded and congested city.
Mainz is fairly quiet usually. Just on that day with the farmers market and nice weather many people went to the streets.

@@Rollo_26 Wiesbaden is indeed coming shortly: it will be online on 24.5. according to current plans. I did all 3 walks: Wiesbaden, Mainz and Frankfurt on the same day before I flew to Asia so it's nice and sunny on all these walks

Der §23 KunstUrheberGesetz erlaubt das Filmen im öffentlichen Raum, solange Personen austauschbar und nicht primärer Gegenstand der Bilder sind. Man darf auch keine peinliche oder erniedrigende Situationen mit Aufnahmen ausnutzen bzw. veröffentlichen.
Ich laufe für die Aufnahmen überdurchschnittlich schnell, um niemanden (selbst scheinbar) zu folgen und richte die Kamera auf die Straße / Gebäude statt auf Aktionen oder Gesichter einzelner Personen. Es werden keine Personen herausgestellt, auch keine Kinder. Es gibt ebenso keine genauen Zeitangaben im Video. Die DSVGO/GDPR wird auch von UA-cam beachtet. Maschinelle Gesichtserkennung ist lt. den Nutzungsbedingungen von UA-cam ebenfalls untersagt.
Eine gefilmte Person kann sich im Falle einer offensichtlichen Störung ihrer Privat-/Intimsphäre an UA-cam wenden, wo der Zeitabschnitt begutachtet und mir eventuell eine Unkenntlichmachung nach Timecode vorgeschlagen wird. Weiterhin ist meine email auf dem Kanal hinterlegt und man kann sich jederzeit an mich wenden. Falls es also ein Problem gibt oder Wünsche nach unkenntlichen Abschnitten, bitte gern den Grund und die Timecodes an mich schicken und ich ändere das Video entsprechend.
Es existieren übrigens viele solcher Hobby-Spazierkanäle und UA-cam Filme von Städten wie hier (Rambalac, Pro Walk Tours, Watched Walker, etc...) . Bisher freuten sich alle Personen, die sich kurz beim Vorbeigehen im Video erkannten. Die Personen in den Videos sind in meinen Augen dennoch "Beiwerk" der Bilder und weniger relevant für den Inhalt.
Falls Sie Anwalt sind und mir einen fundierten Hinweis auf einen Datenschutzverstoß oder Rechtsverstoß geben können, so schreiben Sie mir bitte. Ich versuche, mit dem Kanal möglichst viele Städte zu zeigen und eine Art virtuelle Besuche zu ermöglichen. Ansonsten ist, wie erwähnt, meine email im Kanal hinterlegt, damit keine Probleme entstehen bzw. schnell behoben werden können.
