I love fastlane, and I use but its such a shame the Android support and documentation is sub-par compared to iOS.

Exactly .. Why is the talk focused on the iOS implementation and ignoring the android implementation!!

I might be wrong, but from what I can understand, Fastlane was initially done for iOS only, later/currently the functionalities are being ported to Android. So it is quite understandable they show the OS with the best support during these talks.

Nobody downloads. You upload them if you deploy your app you need to take care about many screen devices, languages etc.
