This was an amazing experience. I always found it hard to know what pure stillness feels like and this guidance helped me be in that observer/watcher state, letting me see discomfort, eagerness, distraction and many other states arise and go away. Thank you for creating this meditation.😍😊
This was an amazing meditation recently I watch Quazi Johir video mentioning the self inquiry meditation. As panthiest and animist, I want to be closer to God. I'll be using the self inquiry practice in my daily life.
Liked and subscribed. The awareness has been there for at least a few lifetimes, showing itself to me sometimes in this life through visions and knowings. This was a great guide… thank you
Thank you friend. In my experience, there 2 ways of knowing the i am (before it melts)... focusing attention (dual)...and de focusing /relaxing (100% passivity)...which, naturally, keeps awareness, staying in the heart, resting, automatically, on the sense of i am, there...instead of rising to the head, to be projected to objects, in a dual way. Yes...the passive way, for beginners, can support lots of rajas/tamas, manifestations, before settling down...but if stuck with, with heroism, devotion, and patience, is a very natural way. 🧡🧡
One of the best meditations in UA-cam. It is truly remarkable. thank you Giovanni. Anyway you can do a 30 or 45 minute meditation with more of the same - just pointers occasionally ? 20 mins is just right but for doing another 10 mins can further enhance self inquiry.
This meditation es truly amazing ! I feel in synk with your words, the one time my thoughts slipped away the furthest you brought me back at the exactly right time . Namaste my friend 🙏
The practice is staying or having the attention in the sense Iam or the feeling I-exist, I'm there. It is not witnessing or watching anything but being with one self?
i am trying to learn Self Enquiry and this video is as all your stuff excellent, crisp and clear . I was wondering what the difference between open awereness and self Enquiry really are? I get the impression that in Self Enquiry you try to get to this "watcher mode" or as Mooji talks about "the screen" where thoughts and everything projects. But i am not sure if this is whats meant with fokusing on the I. Thanks for everything you do Giovanni, you really inspire and make a big difference. Best regards /Andreas
This is a good question. It depends on how you define open awareness. By practicing self-enquiry and focusing our attention on the feeling of the pure "I" or "I am", we do get to this state of pure being. We are aware, but not of anything in particular. I like to call this "open awareness".
@@meditationgio Thanks Giovanni i so much appreciate your answers. I really start to like this meditation. When you write" focusing our attention on the feeling of the pure "I" or "I am" would you say that this simply means like "being the watcher" who observes watever appears in the mind? Like suddenly a thought about what to eat, something at work, something wife has said or anything. But as the watcher just observe these thoughts almost at a distance and just let them pass by. Just like if they were on a screen passing by? Best regards/Andreas
@@andreaskrasser9286 Yes, it is "being the watcher", but not watching anything in particular. It is being pure subjectivity, without duality. It is subtle to try to explain this with words.
@@meditationgio fantastic Giovanni, as always your answers are so on point and so very helpful. I hope you continue to have a great life. Best regards/Andreas
I totally don’t get it. I have no idea who I am or why this body mind keeps trying these meditations. I don’t know what I want. I am confused and lost, looking for something but I don’t know what.
Who is this perceiver? We need to identify with the perceiver and not the perceived. Life really sucks. Why are we caught in this matrix? Life is an incorrigible mystery. People talk of going through endless lives. This is rubbish. This sounds worse than the hell the Christians and Muslims burn in. Life is torture too because your thoughts just arise from nowhere and this crazy world is riven by people who have so many different belief systems and social pressures and values. I sometimes wish I was never born at all. Being a fish in the vast ocean would be a far better experience than being an idiotic robotic human.
These feelings only come because you are still disconnected from the deeper truth of your being. I know you will not like hearing this and will probably have clever arguments. But see if part of you is willing to take in these words and sit with them. I say all of this with a heart of compassion, not teasing or debating. 😉🙏🏻
@@shawkraale8595 It's hard to give meaningful general advice without knowing more about you. But I'd recommend you spend more time reading/listening to spiritual works with an open mind; avoid meaningless debates; meditate daily; develop self-discipline to live life more purpose-driven, and break bad habits such as internet addiction, etc. All of this will help, no doubt.
The dissolving of the face is great. It represents one of the very things that we define ourselves by. We are not the face. We are pure consciousness. The face is an object🙏🕉🙏
This is very nice… I want to actually write down everything you said and repeat it for myself… v powerful… thank you
I normally don't like guided meditations, but this is something special. Thank you.

I enjoy this! A much different approach to self inquiry than most other guided content I’ve experienced.
This has easily become one of my favorite meditations.
Thank you!
Great guided practice. I honour the same thing that is still and resides in us all.🙏🕉🙏

Thank you for sharing. Relaxing into the I AM is a great way too, for those who are able to do it.
@@meditationgio yes. The "just relaxing" way, may take, absurd amounts of commitment, before it will kick in deeper.

As a Ramana Maharshi devotee, this is great for practicing self-enquiry! Is there a way to buy this as an MP3 so it can practiced offline?
Just steal it

THERE IS A SQUEAKING SOUND EVERY SECOND OR SO. BIRDS? A FAN ?
I think it is birds. It's part of the background noise.

The speaking is good ;the explosion of the face is not.

That chirpy noise in the background is incredibly distracting and will make me not choose this otherwise good meditation
Thanks for the feedback. I'll consider doing without the bird sound in next versions.
