Preach! I say this all the time. Just because a group is singing in a different language means it changes the genre of a song. Which is why i get so heated about people being mad about BTS doing well in america and how they don't deserve to be in American Award shows. Pop music in itself isn't even really a genre, it just means its popular, pop music can have different genres, as BTS likes to display. #BTSfortheGrammys
BTS are Korean, but they do side hustles in Japan as well. This means you will see Japanese versions of their Korean songs, or original Japanese tracks. Stay Gold is an original Japanese BTS song. BTS consist of 3 rappers and 4 singers. Their usual song breakdown is rappers do the verses and the singers do the chorus. However, they change things up all the time, so this doesn't apply to all of their songs.
It's not ' side hustles in Japan' That's quite rude and dismissive. Japan and JARMY are an incredibly important market for BTS that bring in a LOT of money and prestige. Their Japanese albums are breaking decade old records and Dome tours there are not only highly desired but also a big sign a Kpop group has 'made it'.
Japan is the second largest music market in the world, after US market and comes before UK, Germany and France. So it's a huge market, BTS doesn't side hustle them. FYI 😊
BTS is originally hip hop group. So, thats why you hear the adlib by the rappers. Especially when you watching the live version of this, the rappers add adlibs for the performance. And btw, BTS music videos have subtitle so turn on CC.

Part of why there are 7 is because they are also an amazing dance crew. They sing and perform at the same time. More members means more complex and dynamic choreography and smaller line distribution so have better breath control. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. So the rappers usually have a verse each. Every song is divided differently and they also have songs with solos and subunits (only 2-4 members on a song.) But often the first chorus will be split between two vocalists, the next chorus by the other two, the bridge is usually given as a solo, and then the last chorus will be sung by all in unison or in harmonies. That’s sort of the basic format BTS uses, but, like I said, every song is very different. But the seven members have created this perfect team whose strengths and weaknesses all compliment each other really well. A lot of their success is due to their chemistry and the family they have created. With each other and with their fans
BTS are great and they are next level live (I’ve been to 2 concerts). For your knowledge there's 3 rappers and 4 vocalists they debuted June 13th 2013 (quite recently we celebrated they're 7 year Birthday)also the one who switched his leerings position is actually a Rapper he does that switch quite often now that you pointed this out I went back listening to some of his solos and rap parts and he does that quite often. The falsetto you heard from Them is actually the tip of the iceberg. I recommend checking out "The truth Untold" "Magic Shop" "Euphoria" "We are Bulletproof:The Eternal" "Louder than bombs" "Moon" "Friends" "My time" "Inner child" Also each of theusic videos has English captions so you could understand what they're saying. But the B-side tracks don't have Music Videos so we use color-coded lyrics (Not always accurate the most accurate ones are from 'Zati Farhani')
This is a Japanese song. There are 4 vocalist and 3 rappers. This song is about no matter what is going on, although all you see is darkness, you need to “Stay Gold”. Happiness positivity and love is what’s most important. Thats why when you seen all them alone they were in a dark setting and the mood seemed very down and gloomy. However, when they were all together you seen glitter, gold, smiles, laughs, and overall joy and happiness. This was a song BTS made for us (ARMY) and anyone else who needed good words of encouragement through such a dark time with everything going on in the world.
to get a good sense of BTS music you need to listen to a variety of songs from different 'eras'. They cover nearly every genre. Their MV are also well constructed, though new people get lost because they don't have the context of origin. Most of BTS albums are release in sets of 3, and some have 2-3 sets per 'era'. And except for their very early songs, they have an underlying story that moves through all their MVs. The story is fiction, each member has a character persona, and often background, clothes, or images are carried forward and connect the MVs which keeps the fandom busy finding all the links, and building theories. They often write their own lyrics, compose melodies, raps, beats and produce in collaboration with their in-house producing team. Their songs often incorporate themes in philosophy, psychology, visual art, and literature that to emphasize situations in popular culture. Their music foundation in hiphop, but have a diverse collection of music, EDM, R&B, neo, pop, rock, rap, etc. The 3 rappers have independent mixed tapes, and the singers have solos on soundcloud, outside of the work they do as BTS. Within the albums they also have solo pieces that can be intros, interludes, outros, or often called 'trailers'. If you continue to react to BTS, listen to the lyrical versions though some translations are more accurate then others, and water MVs as well as live performances to get a good cross-section of their 'sound'. The most views on UA-cam tend to be their latest releases, so best to search or ask the fandom for suggestions. I also recommend you watch life performances to get a sense of their personalities, and voices since they are hard hitting dancers, and have to maintain control throughout their concert. Btw - the rappers can sing, and the singers can rap - but you have to listen to a wide range of songs to catch those. Ask the fandom any question on BTS, someone will answer, there are several million of us!
The large majority of the time I would say it is critical to have the captions on for BTS songs because they are known for their complex and meaningful lyrics. This is actually one of the few songs that I feel like what you can pick up in English and the visuals of the MV pretty much get the meaning across, lol. It says it at the beginning, "In a world where you feel cold, stay gold..." While it is a positive, uplifting song, the idea actually is that in our darkness, our isolation, our hard times, we need to hold onto those happy memories, positive vibes, etc. And that the light can always reach us in our dark places. =) So you see each member in isolated, dark, difficult places. They dream of/remember happier times when they were all together. Then, at the end, the light is able to reach all of them in their dark places and lead them out. The 'gold' is light/happiness/positive memories and energy. Also the paradise garden they end up in at the end is full of purple flowers. Purple represents their fans, Army. So when Tae presses his hand to the purple moss at the end and the gold spreads from it, that is meaningful regarding their relationship with their fans. =) If you react to more of their music (which ... you've opened the flood gates, my friend. You are going to be SWAMPED with requests), you'll notice that they usually have more dancing (one reason why there is so many of them) and also that their music covers many different genres, so no one song is really going to exemplify them as a group. I'd personally recommend On (Kinetic Manifesto), Mic Drop (remix), Dope, Fake Love (for the love of god, put captions on), Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears (it's just a feast for the ears and the eyes even though you'll probably be extremely confused), not necessarily in that order. DNA tends to be a pretty popular one too, although it isn't my favorite, and Boy With Luv.

But basically they said is a song for comfort fans and people all over the world in this quarantine times, telling to hold on to their light. This song is about staying happy and positive and kind and everything gold in the hardest times and never taking the best times for granted. Kpop generally show their metaphoric lyrics literally in their MV’s aka the golden retriever and so on and sometimes they hide stuff in there (blood sweat and tears is a good example of this). If you don’t understand the lyrics or context you can always search up the analysis of it on UA-cam very cool!

For you it would be good to watch seperate songs of the rappers and the vocalists. Songs with the rappers: ugh!, Ddaeng and their chyper series. Vocalists: Zero o'clock, house of cards and dimple are some tips. The colorcoded lyrics are great to get to know their voices and live performances are always a good choice aswell.
In kpop groups, there can be up to 20 members. Each member always has their own role, but if they don't have a specific role like rapping, singing, visual, dancing, and chemistry, all aspects that are needed in kpop, it means they all do the same kinds of things but in their own style. Each member is different and important. How to tell the members different: RM: has a deep ass voice, tallest one, has big dimples when smiling, fourth oldest, fashionista, Smart af, clumsy af, vote him for president tho(leader), meh at cooking Jin: Squishy cheeks, perky lips, sharp eyebrows, usually wears to stand out from the others, visual, voice sounds like honey, gets angry a lot but not for long, oldest, CHEF Suga: usually always has a bowl cut when it isn’t styled, eyes are very slit, gummy smile, deepish tired voice, looks cold at first till he becomes a happy boi, second oldest, knows how to cook Jhope: happy ball of sunshine, always messing around with the younger ones, until he get angry or is teaching dance choreo, head tilts, very hip, third oldest, has deepish voice but he can squeal, still learning to cook Jimin: Short (dont tell him I said that), voice goes higher than the sky, floofy, sassy, very charismatic, very kind, until you make him angry, third youngest, has fun cooking Taehyung: Very unique facial expression, voice goes deeper than the ocean AND higher than the sky, super duper floofy, snuggly, fashionista, second youngest, would rather eat than cook Jungkook: Tries hard to be the Golden boi, voice is smooth as silk and flows like a river, baby (youngest), but he acts like Tae’s older bro cuz he can, does whatever he wants when cooking (this is a more meme-y depiction of them, so it may be inaccurate in some perspectives, its more about when they aren’t in a serious setting)

You forgot Jin's legendary Epiphany live, the first performance and the one in Saudi Arabia concert is the best imo since it's more recent and you can see how his performance progressed during the tour
This is a Japanese song, they have both Korean and Japanese songs. Oh and they always have subtitles on their videos so we can understand what they’re talking about. They are 7 but they are so smart with their production, all the members bring something unique to the team, it never feels like one outshines the other, they’re really good at what they’re doing

BTS is little more then just a pop group,they did almost every genre,the lyrics nd thr intention to making music is very positive,u hv to go little deeper to understand them,it will take time but u wont regret it👍
I agree at 4:52 about the cool phrasing. It's actually my favorite part of the song. Suggestions for future reaction: I recommend live version of Outro Tears for rapline, the Truth Untold for vocal line, and Mic Drop for performance. Try the MAMA performance of Mic Drop (or Melon Music Award version, can't remember which award show).
There's sub title for all their MVs. You have to turn it on to understand the lyrics. They are singing in Japanese. This song is OST for Japanese drama.
in regards to line distribution, they said they chose vocals according to the mood of the song. you will find more songs have more rap or more vocals than others as well the arrangement. no songs are the same, you might some songs in Japanese have particular singers vocals highlighted more but again its because of the particular mood, and the vocal they use could perhaps convey the emotions stronger or subtler, as they want, some are deeper or sharper, its really great.. so its all pretty cool.
@@GCVocalCoaching you are welcome. for a bit of extra info, the vocal line consists of jin, jimin, taehyung and jungkook. the rapline has suga, j-hope and rm. to observe more of the rapline you can find there artistry in ddaeng, the "cyphers 1-4," "tear", "respec"t, "ugh". the vocal line .. truth untold, house of cards, are a good example. further more..songs line "crystal snow' -Japanese-highlights jin and taehyungs depths and high pitch, 'hold me" highlights jimin and jungkook. "hug me' the depth of taehyung and also jhope who has incredible vocals as well, apart from being a rapper, he does a lot of back up vocals for the team. now the rappers also sing once in a while. like suga in" shadow", rm in 'i know" (with jungkook) j-hope in "mama" and "ego". they also have individual songs that are part of their albums, like "serendipity", which showcases jimin, "singularity" for taehyung 'epiphany' for jin, and" euphoria" for jungkook. the rappers have as i mentioned before "shadow' for suga also "first love", "ego" and "boy meets evil" for j-hope(by the way hes also their dance leader and the best dancer in k-pop ever. period,no discussion) and "persona" for RM. all the individual songs are there not just as part of the theme for their albums but to highlight different vocal abilities for the members. now they also have solo projects such as mix tapes, so far the rap line has given us "mono" and "RM" by rm, D-2 and "Agust d" this is by suga and also the name he uses for mix tapes, and an album "hope world" by j-hope. the vocal line has given us, "tonight" single by jin (absolutely incredible) he also has rock and opera inclinations, check out "dionysus" for his rock voice and 'come back home" for his melodious operasque voice. you'll never be the same again. "promise"a single by jimin, (its the closest well ever get to an angel singing ) winter bear and "sweet night"(an ost)etc both singles(you'll never find a voice this again.hes a miracle) and jungkook, "still with you'(he's incredible. just incredible, this. kid. is. incredible.- just in case i dint mention it.) we are currently waiting on jungkook, taehyung, jimin's and jin's mix tapes. in-conclusion. love bts. they are a mass of energy and incredible talent. you simply have no choice. its a basic need and we don't deserve them. i hope you enjoy this journey you have embarked on. have fun. sorry i know i wrote a whole book. but this guys are phenomenal and i haven't mentioned everything. thank you for your time.
You should react to the live version of this song. Its amazing how they sound exactly like the recorded version when they sing live. Also, and I know others said this already, you should turn on CC on their official MVs. You will see how their voices reflect the lyrics. Its breathtaking.

They are a Korean group singing in Japanese with English. They speak Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, Spanish, French and who knows what others. They also spent time in the Netherlands so probably that language also some.

Which is why i get so heated about people being mad about BTS doing well in america and how they don't deserve to be in American Award shows. BTS are Korean, but they do side hustles in Japan as well. This means you will see Japanese versions of their Korean songs, or original Japanese tracks. Stay Gold is an original Japanese BTS song.

It's not ' side hustles in Japan' That's quite rude and dismissive. Japan and JARMY are an incredibly important market for BTS that bring in a LOT of money and prestige. Their Japanese albums are breaking decade old records and Dome tours there are not only highly desired but also a big sign a Kpop group has 'made it'.
Japan is the second largest music market in the world, after US market and comes before UK, Germany and France. So it's a huge market, BTS doesn't side hustle them. FYI 😊
BTS is originally hip hop group. So, thats why you hear the adlib by the rappers. Especially when you watching the live version of this, the rappers add adlibs for the performance. And btw, BTS music videos have subtitle so turn on CC.

Part of why there are 7 is because they are also an amazing dance crew. They sing and perform at the same time. More members means more complex and dynamic choreography and smaller line distribution so have better breath control.
They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. So the rappers usually have a verse each. Every song is divided differently and they also have songs with solos and subunits (only 2-4 members on a song.) But often the first chorus will be split between two vocalists, the next chorus by the other two, the bridge is usually given as a solo, and then the last chorus will be sung by all in unison or in harmonies. That’s sort of the basic format BTS uses, but, like I said, every song is very different. But the seven members have created this perfect team whose strengths and weaknesses all compliment each other really well. A lot of their success is due to their chemistry and the family they have created. With each other and with their fans
BTS are great and they are next level live (I’ve been to 2 concerts). You should check out their “ON Kinetic Manifesto Film” and then watch the live performance on Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show they perform “ON” at Grand Central Station. It’s near perfect match to the MV. This is a Japanese song. There are 4 vocalist and 3 rappers. This song is about no matter what is going on, although all you see is darkness, you need to “Stay Gold”. Happiness positivity and love is what’s most important. Thats why when you seen all them alone they were in a dark setting and the mood seemed very down and gloomy. However, when they were all together you seen glitter, gold, smiles, laughs, and overall joy and happiness. This was a song BTS made for us (ARMY) and anyone else who needed good words of encouragement through such a dark time with everything going on in the world.

to get a good sense of BTS music you need to listen to a variety of songs from different 'eras'. They cover nearly every genre. Their MV are also well constructed, though new people get lost because they don't have the context of origin. Most of BTS albums are release in sets of 3, and some have 2-3 sets per 'era'. And except for their very early songs, they have an underlying story that moves through all their MVs. The story is fiction, each member has a character persona, and often background, clothes, or images are carried forward and connect the MVs which keeps the fandom busy finding all the links, and building theories. They often write their own lyrics, compose melodies, raps, beats and produce in collaboration with their in-house producing team. Their songs often incorporate themes in philosophy, psychology, visual art, and literature that to emphasize situations in popular culture. Their music foundation in hiphop, but have a diverse collection of music, EDM, R&B, neo, pop, rock, rap, etc. The 3 rappers have independent mixed tapes, and the singers have solos on soundcloud, outside of the work they do as BTS. Within the albums they also have solo pieces that can be intros, interludes, outros, or often called 'trailers'. If you continue to react to BTS, listen to the lyrical versions though some translations are more accurate then others, and water MVs as well as live performances to get a good cross-section of their 'sound'. The most views on UA-cam tend to be their latest releases, so best to search or ask the fandom for suggestions. I also recommend you watch life performances to get a sense of their personalities, and voices since they are hard hitting dancers, and have to maintain control throughout their concert. Btw - the rappers can sing, and the singers can rap - but you have to listen to a wide range of songs to catch those. Ask the fandom any question on BTS, someone will answer, there are several million of us!

The large majority of the time I would say it is critical to have the captions on for BTS songs because they are known for their complex and meaningful lyrics. This is actually one of the few songs that I feel like what you can pick up in English and the visuals of the MV pretty much get the meaning across, lol.
It says it at the beginning, "In a world where you feel cold, stay gold..." While it is a positive, uplifting song, the idea actually is that in our darkness, our isolation, our hard times, we need to hold onto those happy memories, positive vibes, etc. And that the light can always reach us in our dark places. =) So you see each member in isolated, dark, difficult places. They dream of/remember happier times when they were all together. Then, at the end, the light is able to reach all of them in their dark places and lead them out. The 'gold' is light/happiness/positive memories and energy. Also the paradise garden they end up in at the end is full of purple flowers. Purple represents their fans, Army. So when Tae presses his hand to the purple moss at the end and the gold spreads from it, that is meaningful regarding their relationship with their fans. =)
If you react to more of their music (which ... you've opened the flood gates, my friend. You are going to be SWAMPED with requests), you'll notice that they usually have more dancing (one reason why there is so many of them) and also that their music covers many different genres, so no one song is really going to exemplify them as a group.
I'd personally recommend On (Kinetic Manifesto), Mic Drop (remix), Dope, Fake Love (for the love of god, put captions on), Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears (it's just a feast for the ears and the eyes even though you'll probably be extremely confused), not necessarily in that order. DNA tends to be a pretty popular one too, although it isn't my favorite, and Boy With Luv.

Kpop generally show their metaphoric lyrics literally in their MV’s aka the golden retriever and so on and sometimes they hide stuff in there (blood sweat and tears is a good example of this). If you don’t understand the lyrics or context you can always search up the analysis of it on UA-cam very cool!

For you it would be good to watch seperate songs of the rappers and the vocalists. Songs with the rappers: ugh!, Ddaeng and their chyper series. Vocalists: Zero o'clock, house of cards and dimple are some tips. The colorcoded lyrics are great to get to know their voices and live performances are always a good choice aswell.
In kpop groups, there can be up to 20 members. Each member always has their own role, but if they don't have a specific role like rapping, singing, visual, dancing, and chemistry, all aspects that are needed in kpop, it means they all do the same kinds of things but in their own style. Each member is different and important.
How to tell the members different:
RM: has a deep ass voice, tallest one, has big dimples when smiling, fourth oldest, fashionista, Smart af, clumsy af, vote him for president tho(leader), meh at cooking
Jin: Squishy cheeks, perky lips, sharp eyebrows, usually wears to stand out from the others, visual, voice sounds like honey, gets angry a lot but not for long, oldest, CHEF
Suga: usually always has a bowl cut when it isn’t styled, eyes are very slit, gummy smile, deepish tired voice, looks cold at first till he becomes a happy boi, second oldest, knows how to cook
Jhope: happy ball of sunshine, always messing around with the younger ones, until he get angry or is teaching dance choreo, head tilts, very hip, third oldest, has deepish voice but he can squeal, still learning to cook
Jimin: Short (dont tell him I said that), voice goes higher than the sky, floofy, sassy, very charismatic, very kind, until you make him angry, third youngest, has fun cooking
Taehyung: Very unique facial expression, voice goes deeper than the ocean AND higher than the sky, super duper floofy, snuggly, fashionista, second youngest, would rather eat than cook
Jungkook: Tries hard to be the Golden boi, voice is smooth as silk and flows like a river, baby (youngest), but he acts like Tae’s older bro cuz he can, does whatever he wants when cooking

BTS is little more then just a pop group,they did almost every genre,the lyrics nd thr intention to making music is very positive,u hv to go little deeper to understand them,it will take time but u wont regret it👍

Suggestions for future reaction: I recommend live version of Outro Tears for rapline, the Truth Untold for vocal line, and Mic Drop for performance. Try the MAMA performance of Mic Drop (or Melon Music Award version, can't remember which award show).
There's sub title for all their MVs. You have to turn it on to understand the lyrics. They are singing in Japanese. This song is OST for Japanese drama.
in regards to line distribution, they said they chose vocals according to the mood of the song. you will find more songs have more rap or more vocals than others as well the arrangement. no songs are the same, you might some songs in Japanese have particular singers vocals highlighted more but again its because of the particular mood, and the vocal they use could perhaps convey the emotions stronger or subtler, as they want, some are deeper or sharper, its really great.. so its all pretty cool.

the vocal line consists of jin, jimin, taehyung and jungkook. the rapline has suga, j-hope and rm. to observe more of the rapline you can find there artistry in ddaeng, the "cyphers 1-4," "tear", "respec"t, "ugh". the vocal line .. truth untold, house of cards, are a good example. further more..songs line "crystal snow' -Japanese-highlights jin and taehyungs depths and high pitch, 'hold me" highlights jimin and jungkook. "hug me' the depth of taehyung and also jhope who has incredible vocals as well, apart from being a rapper, he does a lot of back up vocals for the team. now the rappers also sing once in a while. like suga in" shadow", rm in 'i know" (with jungkook) j-hope in "mama" and "ego". they also have individual songs that are part of their albums, like "serendipity", which showcases jimin, "singularity" for taehyung 'epiphany' for jin, and" euphoria" for jungkook. the rappers have as i mentioned before "shadow' for suga also "first love", "ego" and "boy meets evil" for j-hope(by the way hes also their dance leader and the best dancer in k-pop ever. period,no discussion) and "persona" for RM. all the individual songs are there not just as part of the theme for their albums but to highlight different vocal abilities for the members. now they also have solo projects such as mix tapes, so far the rap line has given us "mono" and "RM" by rm, D-2 and "Agust d" this is by suga and also the name he uses for mix tapes, and an album "hope world" by j-hope. the vocal line has given us, "tonight" single by jin (absolutely incredible) he also has rock and opera inclinations, check out "dionysus" for his rock voice and 'come back home" for his melodious operasque voice. you'll never be the same again.
"promise"a single by jimin, (its the closest well ever get to an angel singing ) winter bear and "sweet night"(an ost)etc both singles(you'll never find a voice this again.hes a miracle) and jungkook, "still with you'(he's incredible. just incredible, this. kid. is. incredible.- just in case i dint mention it.) we are currently waiting on jungkook, taehyung, jimin's and jin's mix tapes.
in-conclusion. love bts. they are a mass of energy and incredible talent. you simply have no choice. its a basic need and we don't deserve them. i hope you enjoy this journey you have embarked on. have fun. sorry i know i wrote a whole book. but this guys are phenomenal and i haven't mentioned everything.

you might like "Your Eyes Tell", another ballad from this Japanese album. It's stunningly beautiful. They debuted it on live Japanese TV.
They are a Korean group singing in Japanese with English. They speak Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, Spanish, French and who knows what others. They also spent time in the Netherlands so probably that language also some.
