Sweet. I got into my two hives finally. One is doing ok and one is sputtering along. No brood to speak of yet, was hoping to see a frame or two . Not sure what to think. One queen is going on her third season. The other is going on its second. Got pollen coming in as of yesterday. I hope that stimulates them to lay.
Hi Ian I’m very interested in the Ezyloader. I notice you always seem to load single hives as a single pallet. Is it too heavy to manoeuvre if you put one or even two on top of each other before loading onto the truck? Cheers John
I am a little puzzled how you manage to move colonies during the day without appearing to have blocked the entrances, and thus losing the foraging bees?
This has eliminated your lifting, but what about the bending you and Carrie endure as you dig through the broodnests? Crazy Roland visited me once and brought along his ancient wooden hive stool. He explained that sitting on the stool as he worked quickly was a lot better ergonomically. I wonder if there is something out there for you and Carrie? Some days you look absolutely beat.
That is your most valuable piece of equipment.

Packing up for the year already?
Is this model the hydraulic winch? Do you find it more jerky than the electric?

Moving them on a cool morning, cluster till late morning, like here in Alaska
Thank you, now I understand. As I live in the South of France, sufficiently cool mornings during the season are few and far between!
Morning or evenings 👍
Never block entrances during transport. If needed for registrations, net them
