We are excited to start raising Rex and Cali mutt meat rabbits. Our rex buck is lilac and our doe is broken so they should throw some neat combinations. The only issue we are facing is this florida heat. We have decided to do our rex indoors and the Cali mutts outside. With them being so easy to litter train, we hope this goes well! 😂 Thanks for all the info sharing!
We have a local farm that breeds these and we have considered mixing them into our mutts for this florida heat. The only drawback that I can find is the size is significantly smaller than the others. How have they faired in the heat for you?
I have blue rex and California. Not mutts. Was going to pick up a white new zeland, but her eyes are brown and really long ears. Not really sure it's a NZ.
@@BrokenArrowFarm307 thank you for conformation. I'm not sure what she is. NZx. the tamuk look kinda like this one I am looking at locally. Because of the long ears. But I don't know much of that kind. NM so yes them tamuk could of crossed the Texas NM line. Folks may be working them in. I will see her tomorrow in person. Try to figure out what she is. My friend got her at a swap meet. She was told a NZ. Sent me photos. She is a big rabbit under 16 weeks old. . . Thank you for replying to me. That mean a lot. Have a great day

Very cool! Heat can definitely be a challenge for sure. Good luck on your rabbit raising endeavor! You are welcome, thank you for watching!
I have purebred New Zealand Reds and Mini Rex. I also have New Zealand/Silver fox/Cali meat mutts strictly for our meat production.
Very cool! You can't go wrong with the meat mutts for meat production I do that with my rabbits as well.
Have you thought about tamuks we have them they have a high tolerance to heat
I have not, I've heard a lot about them and want to look into them. But I have no idea how close a breeder is to me.
