Hello dear.. nice video & information but If you pls can clear some doubt I have - Do we have to buy any specific accessories or equipment for scuba or everything is provided by them! I don't have Go Pro is, there any option to capture that moment!! Have a grt day 👍
@Be Human, welcome! :) No, they will provide you with everything. No need to buy accessories except camera. I know there is Osmo action camera which could be slightly cheaper than GoPro. Else, maybe you can contact the centre and see if they have photo/video packages. Sometimes they do have that! ;)
Hi, Kev. Am Andrea, how do i get in touch with you privately?? Would like to know your personal advice on some things consigning Mauritius. Love your videos too, always. Thanks.
Hi Andrea, hope you are doing well! Thanks for your kind words. I've just added my social media links in the description box, you can reach me out from Instagram or FB.
@nelly Cious, generally speaking, on the cheap side, it could be around 250 USD to 500 USD per month. You might get cheaper also but most likely these might come unfurnished. Max, there is no limit. For living in Mauritius, that might vary on your lifestyle. But 500 usd can be a safe bet. I might do a living in Mauritius video soon ;) Hope this helps!
Rescue and cave diver here- shark attacks are very rare, they don’t like the taste of humans and they don’t like to attack groups of mammals. Only real risk if is you run across a tiger shark or great white shark, * and * the shark is very hungry, * and * nobody else is with you (you’re solo or separated from the group). Sharks also don’t like to go near wrecks, as they don’t want to cut themselves. So my recommendation is to dive wrecks or shallow reefs, and stick in groups and you’ll be fine 99.9999999% of the time. The issues occur when people do dives in the middle of the ocean, with no wrecks around and a deep bottom. Then sharks might be likely to be near you, and even then, they’ll generally only attack if very hungry and you’re solo. Also, there’s EMP bracelets that release small electromagnetic pulses or create an electrical field, that scare sharks away. If you’re that nervous, wouldn’t hurt to buy one.
In conclusion, far less than 1% of scuba diving deaths are due to sharks- and scuba deaths are rare to begin with. Over 99% is due to drowning due to diver error, diver panic, or equipment malfunction. You’re much better off staying calm, staying smart, having a dive plan, diving within your limits, and making sure your equipment is all in good working order and that you’re properly weighted prior to getting into the water.
