Honestly this is much better. When it comes to the adaptations of Gordon the big engine they are really all out of order it's like they forgot what their priorities when it came to Gordon in Thomas being in disgrace.

I was always bothered with how we never heard Thomas’ request for Gordon in the original episode. They are allies here yet we only ever heard Gordon’s request for Thomas.
It’s nice to have closure.
That happened after Down the Mine in the books. Since that story was in Season 1, it wouldn't make much sense. But yeah, I can definitely see why people would prefer this

This is really good, although it's strange that Gordon had Duck's whistle sound in this series.
It is weird but I kinda like it. I just look as it as Gordon just having a different whistle in this season, kinda like how in season 5 James' whistle was different.

Deleted scene? I had the VHS of this episode when I was a kid, that scene was in there? Am I mistaken?
Its more of a edited scene as in the original only gordon says his request
In the book, both engines ask TFC for each other to have their jobs back after being punished (Thomas to work on his branch line and Gordon to pull the Express). In the episode, it's only Gordon who asks.
