Been working with rings for two years. ( 73 ) they are the best. Young men can’t do what I can. Two more got there own. Rings 85% weights 15% thank you for all your input
I just started doing Pelican Curls and they're amazing. Using rings gives you the ability to make slight adjustments as needed, so you can start at a very shallow angle, then work your way towards the horizontal.
I started following your BBR programme 2 yrs ago but didn’t have enough strenght to actually follow so I stopped. Now I try to build the strength foundation for the basic lifts. As a former 7+ yrs gymbro it was actually very though to drop the ego and started doing 6reps of pull-up negative. But now I’m starting to control and own the movements. Really looking forward to start BBR over again 😊
Just completed BBR. Have always been a fan of the rings but never expected them to be so effective in promoting muscle growth. Would highly recommend to both beginner and advanced cali athletes if they are looking to make some gains in their physique.
i used inclined curls and afterwards my biceps were toast. next day i was basically disabled. Kept it up and it led to injury that's only just gone away 5 months later. You MUST respect these exercises even if you are strong doing normal curls or the base exercises discussed in this video. The same applies with things like Korean dips, it's no joke just take it easy and dont think because you can do a few reps in relative comfort that your good to crank it up. basically hyper extension.
A few dumbbell curls twice a week will do wonders if you combine them into your calisthenics routine. Same for Squats, Leg Press and any form of Deadlifts. They only makes you stronger and better overall!
Arm wrestlers focus should be ring curls because they are superior to barbell curls. With ring curls it develops that top end locking bicep strength plus has massive carryover to bb curls however bb curls do not have any carryover to ring curls. Also of you can just get to feet parallel on ring curls you’re already at elite level bicep strength.
I tried the pelican curls during a workout. It took a few sets to get used to the full range eccentric. It is very demanding and, it was the first time I've felt DOMS on my biceps. It is a new movement in my toolbox.
I'm curious, why do you suggest eccentric only pelicans as a regression? I think a much better regression is just adjusting the body angle more vertical by having the feet more forward or rings more higher up and doing them normally. As long as the shoulder angle remains the same, it is more or less the same exercise right? And then you can simply progress it by walking the feet back to adjust your body angle to be more horizontal.
I never liked interverted rows as i dont feel much of a burn to build. Feels like a good warm up. But I want to try again how many sets / reps do u suggest & how can U add weight?
Write things down guys it will help with your motivation. Write down when you rest. If it needs more details you will do them in a separate time. Take notes even if you don’t know how but take them
Just asking How long did it take you to get big bicep like in 2014? I have been trying negative pelican curl for 4 months. I have noticed better peak at both biceps, but it is not recognizable without touching them Also, after every "bicep days", my biceps hurt a lot, i have to rest 2-3 days to heal. This make me feel demotivated, i really need a motivation for growing them Thanks 🙌
Dan how much protein per gram do YOU think is necessary. Not sure if youve addressed the topic. Do you think a gram per pound is an overestimate because most people arent that lean anyway
i love doing dips but the problem is i cant do them they are hard for me and after looking for something similar i found out that the end of a hindu pushup and the dip both motion are biomechanically identical so what do you think is it a good choice for a beginner i
Can a beginner to calisthenics start with ring chinups/ pullups if the bar feels awkward? I know rings are advanced but i was thinking ring assisted negatives may help get that vertical pulling strength
Rings are most difficult for mouvements over the rings (e.g pushups, dips). For pulling there shouldn't be a big difference compared to the bar, so if it's more comfortable for you then go for it
A lot of skill involved here. Definitely risky. I figured out by bear hugging a heavy object like a stone or plant pot, you get amazing extended range static strength from the bicep. Crazy Doms. Good starter progression and fun
I’m so grateful you’re doing what I already do for my biceps. 💪🏼 but for now, I do assisted pull ups. You could see that in my workout videos. I’m also really proud you’re putting your hands towards you for pull ups. I do the same thing! Why? You get better grip and leverage to pull yourself up. 😌✌🏼
Guys i want to do muscle ups can i split my pull workouts to 2 days such as 1st day focus on high pull ups with high reps, 2nd day weighted pull ups with low reps?
Depends what you're trying to achieve. I know it's not size cause you're still small and gloating. Idk what it is with this generation trying to gas up mediocrity
The most impressive thing about your training is the strength to weight ratio, yet here you catering some goofy niche angle of trainining, hypertrophy through calisthenics. This is a video, this is a direction, but few will ever take this video seriously for BODY BUILDING FOCUSED CALISTHENIC VARIETIES IS SO FAR FROM OPTIMAL.

Get elastic bands!! They are a game changer to improve pull ups
Thank you, always good content!

Such a great brachialis pushing the bicep upward. Great arms. This tells how compounds may make up for hammer curls.
Thanks for the great video & keep it up! Sending love from Botswana ❤🇧🇼❤
The threads of muscle you can see in Daniels shoulders. Inspiring, to say the least.
Looking like a "belgian blue" now, Daniel! Very impressive!
Calisthenics giving you the power to control your body too. 🔥

Pelican are the best for muscle growth 💪
Is this guy lifetime natural? If yes, he has, I think, the greatest natural physique. Nice work and genetics! 🎉
Reply this question
I think he is natty, you can tell he’s very diligent and immensely consumed with fitness. That’s like peak natural physique can’t get any better

great
Hey Daniel , what are your recommendations to improve shoulder and elbow mobility for the regular straight bar chin up ? Great video cheers
Bom vídeo
The amount of trust you put in these rings is insane. I'd be so scared that they snap
I've never seen gymnastic rings snapping bro. That just doesn't happen.
@@Dokter35 Even cheap ones?
@@yeahbuddy300lbs Don't know how the cheapest being sold are. But all wooden ones should be fine. Used mine for 2,5 years, still no sign of any wear.

How many days did you rest the muscles per week?. I dont know if you should do these exercises each day.😮
Want to collab brother ? You inspire me insanely🙏
What do you think about heavy weighted negative ring chinups?
Those are deft tough on your tendons and muscles. I would do those sparingly

Bro the striation and definition on your delts is crazy!! Even put roided out bodybuilders to shame with those delts!

Considering getting a dip belt to add more weight to pull-ups, where do you get one that you can close around the waist?
What is the difference if you bring your hands to your shoulders or above your head when doing curls?
Which curl variation do you recommend to someone with really bad golfers elbow?
Ring curl scaled down to produce minimal pain, my opinion
For bodyweight pelican curl, should I keep shoulders protracted or retracted?
Can pelican curls be done with TRX straps?

High pulls are explosive, you can't really train them for high reps
