ok so I stayed pretty unspoiled on who the Black Knight is until literally yesterday. I was showing my friend this channel, she saw the thumbnail for this part and went "oh that's [REDACTED]" and I said "no that's the Black Knight [REDACTED] is a different character." she then double checked and said "no that's [Redacted] I have them in Heroes." From my reaction she then realized I didn't know and her face dropped so fast from guilt. I'm not mad about but I thought the exchange was really funny
So for anyone who’s playing along, it IS possible to guarantee a BK kill, with a lot of set up. I’ll try to make this short but there’s a lot of factors. 1. Max/Near Max stats Ike and a promoted mist:Mist needs to be promoted and should use recover, while Ike NEEDS to have capped str, as well as enough speed to not get doubled. Durability is less vital but it’s useful if Ike gets either 3 or 4 shot at cap stats. 2. Skills: Frankly, Aether sucks for reliability. Unless you have enough bulk to take a Luna and a normal hit you get stuck in the scenario jellos in, and even if you have enough bulk their are better skill combos. Adept + Wrath/Nihil is ideal, Adept Nihil is the simple version, as all you have to do is hit the black knight every player phase and enemy phase, with adept giving extra hits to compensate for taking a turn off for healing if needed. However, by using the knight ring you get from Neasala you can have a more effective strategy. 3. Adept + Wrath: By attacking the BK at 2 range, and then canto-ing to the edge of his range, you insure the BK can’t proc Luna, as Luna ( and Aether) only proc at 1 range. The combination of Adept and Wrath gives a very high chance of doing extra damage, which allows you to end the fight early 4. The Priests: Frankly, the AI for the priests is bizarre. From my experience testing the BK on hard mode, the single priest thief never healed the BK, allowing Ike to kill him without any skills. However, as jello shows, this is not always the case. 5. Normal mode: If playing on normal mode, the BK does not move, and therefore both Nihil and the Knight ring are unnecessary. Simply attack the BK from 2 range with a cap str Ike with wrath + adept, and you have a very good chance of winning. The only complication is that the priests seem to heal on normal, so you might have to find some way to kill them with Ike/Mist.
Elincia's bloodlust isn't something I knew I needed in my life But I absolutely love it In regards to the "young dragon kid who's 100 and its weird", no Echoes doesn't have that. Mila and Duma are the only dragons in the game, and they're both very much adults in human form. I'd argue Fates also doesn't have any. Corrin and Kana are the only playable dragons and both are very much the physical age they look.
The "actually a 100-year-old dragon" characters are Tiki (Shadow Dragon), Fae (Binding Blade), Nils (Blazing Blade), Myrrh (Sacred Stones), Nowi (Awakening), and Flayn (Three Houses). People like to make fun of FE for this trope, but it really only applies to Nowi; the rest both act like and are regarded as children. It's just that Nowi is such an extreme example that it's difficult to overlook.

I made it all the way to the Black Knight before I realized that I absolutely screwed myself. I gave Ike Parity to stop the Black Knight's skill, but I forgot that it works for Both Fighters!
You're correct, though the FE 20th anniversary encyclopedia claims their "body is male and heart is female" so I think they were originally transferred coded in the original Japanese
I'm getting ready to finally play Radiant Dawn for the first time (Wii modding baybee) and in anticipation while I get everything together I'm playing PoR again and getting a file ready to transfer. And as I'm bashing my head against the Black Knight cause RNG is being stubborn I'm realizing what a screw up it was that the BK fight got so botched! The first thing you see when you boot this game up for the first time is Ike sparring with Greil. The first act cements what Greil means to Ike. Then he gets shanked by the BK and the rest of the game builds up Ike's fight with the BK! Between the times you see the BK on the map, the scenes he shows up in, and the times he's mentioned by Ike and the crew the importance of this fight is made all the more apparent! It's built up so much for a long time, it's supposed to culminate in something amazing! And the fight itself is a crapshoot based entirely off of chance! If you've even built Ike up right! If the poor boy doesn't have enough defense he just doesn't stand a chance! And then there's the bad luck I got where the Black Knight is constantly activating Luna and screwing over my already slim chances! The Black Knight's fight f*cking sucks so bad. It should be the best part of this game but it's failure to deliver is just so disappointing. The only saving grace is that it doesn't gate off progress. If Ike can't beat him or if the player is fed up with this RNG laden bull$hit they can just dip on out and get on with the finale. I love Path of Radiance a lot! It's one of my favourite games and that's why this part is cheesing me off so much!
