John Krasinki said the scene with Jim and Michael was the hardest he had cried. It took longer to film because both him and Steve Carrell kept breaking down
Dwight turning to Jim to say "uh oh" is the start of one of my favourite parts of the show. I love the evolution of their relationship. It feels like the reward for us viewers after seeing years of them fighting
They’ve always been frenemies tbh. Dwight saved Jim from Roy. I know Dwight said he was defending his fellow co Worley but if Dwight hated Jim. I’m sure Dwight would have sat back and let Roy attack Jim.
I don’t think the last two seasons are bad at all. Aside from a few weak episodes, they’re pretty strong. Michael’s absence changes the show, but it also allows a lot of other characters to shine and build relationships.
It gets pretty cartoony and it definitely damages Jim, Pam and Andy but you’re right- it gives Stanley, Phyllis, Oscar, Angela and Erin more time to shine.
There's an upcoming plotline that fans don't like and despite rumors it was never ever intended to go THAT far I like that it showed what a decent a guy Jim is.
@@littlejoe970although the final two seasons damaged Andy beyond repair in the eyes of the audience. He has some great moments before that happens though.

Michaels gift to Oscar and him understanding that he has the lowest opinion of him than anyone is my favourite part of this episode. Everytime I hear that line, I can’t stop laughing
The amount Michael has grown. From the Secret Santa episode in season 2 and not wanting Phyllis’ homemade oven mitt to loving the mittens she was knitting even though she didn’t finish them.
Not only that but Michael’s game of paintball with Dwight also felt like a callback/full circle moment since in that same season 2 episode Michael hated the paintball gift from Dwight.
From wikipedia regarding that last Pam and Michael scene: In May 2018, Fischer revealed via Instagram what Pam and Michael said in their farewell scene. "That was me talking to Steve [Carell]. I told him all the ways I was going to miss him when he left our show. Those were real tears and a real goodbye."
Nah, his last line was in the finale where he said the bit about "I feel like all my kids grew up and then they married each other. It's every parent's dream."
The James Spader era is thought of as lower quality. And it might be, relating to the OG characters. But Robert California is one of the greatest fictional characters I've ever seen.
Steve did not simply want to "move on to other projects" in the strictest sense. Some of that/family was cited, but NBC did not contact him about renewing his contract because apparently it's run similar to the office on the show.
So I believe that Steve said although his contract was 7 seasons they never asked him to stay. I think the assumption was he was ready to move on but the conversation never happened.
I can’t tell if it’s hate for the character, or Will Ferrell in general. The character is supposed to be cringe. Will Ferrell the person and actor is one of the funniest humans to ever walk this earth. ETA: nope they just despise Will Ferrell. How you gonna say “is it just the other people around Will Ferrell that are funny” when dude is widely considered to be the GOAT SNL cast member?
I undestand the concern about Michael being gone cause the show is def not the same after that, but I genuinely enjoyed the next two seasons. I've watched the Office 3 or 4 times back to back and I never skip those two seasons
9:45 This one kinda hit for me because I love improv but haven't had the time or money to do it in a couple years since high school and last time I did some I had to start at a level 1 class again in order to join some shows but never got to that point. The actor who played Toby's brother is actually his real life brother Warren lieberstein and at the time was married to Angela Kinsey the actress that plays Angela on the show and is the father of her daughter.

36:21 If I remember correctly Michael is working for a paper company who prints tickets for movie theaters in Colorado. And he gets his movie tickets at %50 price because of the job. So pretty sweet.
Part of the problem with the last couple of seasons was that in addition to Steve Carell leaving, several of the writers, even ones that had been there since the beginning, started leaving too. Maybe directors too, I can't remember, but either way it changed the whole feel of the show. There are still solid episodes to come but it doesn't feel like The Office anymore
