Great tutorial, as usual Love this hat, I made it in the 'minion' colors. I did the 6th & 7th rows in half double crochet of black yarn to make the 'strap' and will add a Big Eye ... can't wait for my Grand daughter to see it... and BTW, Picasso looks like my cat, her name is Ms Patches La Belle Thanks again, great beanie, and a fun experiment for me to make it into a minion ponytail beanie..... Yes, the yarn pkg usually tells you the size of crochet hook & knitting needles to use with that specific yarn or you could double up your yarn and use 2 strands
