I love it! I tend to keep scraps like that around for miscellaneous uses, but this is really cool! Nice job recycling! Thank you for the idea. I'm subscribing. : D
Back around 1990-91 my great-grandfather made one of these for each of us great-grandkids. He used a wood dowel rather than a steel rod. I still have mine and it means a lot to me. I enjoyed getting to see the build process. Thank you.
I bought this as a gift for my friend ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.
I also have a little chair like that! Bought it from an old man years ago. Nifty. It is truly a joy to watch your video...No talking, No music, Even the grinder is on mute.. Thank you!
This is not a new idea. I already have a plastic one that i bought many years ago. www.homedepot.com/p/Shine-Company-White-Adirondack-Square-Plastic-Folding-Outdoor-Bistro-Table-7109WT/305136310
Absolutely, I have 4 of those, I use for setting my chop saw on , I'm a trim carpenter, so I can move it room to room, I built mine taller, and heavy duty, been using them for over 25 years.
As always, your fundamentals are extensive. It’s always fun to watch a craftsman do what he does best. Keep sending out videos, there are a lot of people that need to learn this lost art: working with tools while producing and inspiring.
Made these with my dad when i was a kid more than 35 years ago! I still have a 4' table made of cherry like this with my 6 year old signature. Good to see again! good video 👍🏻
Hello my friend. It's a nice project. simple and robust mobile chair. I did the same one last summer. Now I am thinking of making another one updated again. Good job. congratulations. Greetings....
That is one of the coolest folding chair builds I have seen. Great work. Are there any written instructions for this chair. I would love to make a couple of them for my wife and kids.
This is a wonderful idea. I have been bought ones similar to this in the past. And now I know how to make my own rhat will last a lot longer than the plastic ones did. Thank you.
Intriguing to watch with such skill. Ingenious stool design. I have a small table like it but never knew how it was made. Enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing.
I have been making these for about 30 years. My brother-in-law bought me one and I made more like it. I also make tables the same way. I just enlarged the length of the parts and made the legs stronger. My daughter still has the one I made her when she was a toddler, almost 32 years ago. I made the table out of cedar. It's till in pretty good shape.
My dad made all 7 of us adult kids, and my mom and him, 4 chairs and a folding table one year. I still have mine and use it, not sure if my other siblings do, but my dad still has his. His were made with a wooden dowel instead of the metal rod. It’s a great wood project!
@Tazimo Dragon it was a great shop class it was more like industrial tech. I even made my own computer clipart in that class back when we used dot matrix printers. We cast aluminum, Built lamps, and we even wired a small shed. All in middle school.
I have one of those made about 20 years ago by a guy that sold them at our local Saturday Market here in Portland. Handiest thing I own. Sits next to my recliner. A little sanding and some BLO and the top is refreshed from coffee stains etc.
ну только идея не нова. Я такие табуреточки делал еще в начале 90х, на уроках труда. только вместо трубки металлической мы вытачивали на станках деревянную
Several yrs ago I made these tables but larger than these. But I cut the 2 piece top in the shape of an apple and some like a sunflower. Sold hundreds of them.
Pretty old design, I have one of these that my grandfather made that they used when going up in the woods running logs down the river. Folded up nice and compact to fit in the canoes.
Few months ago, my friends got this chair in completely wooden materials, now I know where his idea come from.. This chair of yours is absolutely nice, especially at the axel section.. It become a little bit stiff if using wood for the axle.. Subscribed!!!
We bought a couple of these in Indonesia about 30 years ago and still use them sometimes as seats or side tables. Ours have thick wooden dowels instead of metal tubes.
*This idea can be made from the remains of a tree! I did it from the new for clarity and elegance!*
HandCraft: Ivan, Thank you. I really need to make one of these.

It might be better if you cut the bottom post in a slight diagonal so that the foot will be flat at the surface instead of one tip side only.
Make me one out of oak please.

Got a Grandpa Gift Chair too! I will always take it fishing.

That is one of the coolest folding chair builds I have seen. Great work. Are there any written instructions for this chair. I would love to make a couple of them for my wife and kids.
I made these when I was a kid 50 years ago we also made a larger version a table to match nice to see it's not forgotten thanks
This is a wonderful idea. I have been bought ones similar to this in the past. And now I know how to make my own rhat will last a lot longer than the plastic ones did. Thank you.
Nice. Me and my DAD made some with a table in 1970's. Nice to see it made again.
Excellent bit of construction, there. And the secret is?...
Tapping in the wood dowels at high speed sounds way cool.
Puffin Vapor Like Woody Woodpecker!
Precioso, recuerdos bellos de todo lo que mi papi construía para nosotros y yo aprendí bastante de verlo y me gustaba ayudarle.
You sir are some sort of crafting mad scientist... kudos.

Sos un campeón.. un éxito rotundo 👍🏽😉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Nicely done. Moving parts without gears and electronics. Pretty cool.
I figured it was a chair of some sort but was lost a few times and the finished product was nothing of what I expected! Awesome! 👍👍👍
Cant find the secret indicated in the title.
@wildhogharley Good catch, they are phosphated black to stop the rust from showing through when you scrape some plaster over them.
The combination of 'secret' and 'pleasure yourself' had me going in a very different direction.
I'll go dig my mind out of the gutter now, thank you.

Love it! This stool was the “product” that we mass produced in my 8th grade shop class. My job was to drill the holes.

Our kids have been making these in junior woodwork classes for generations.
Why don't you publish some plans? Obviously they would be very popular!
