Thanks for putting this out there. Im just now getting my Roundabout on the water and will definitely be wanting an outboard. Would love to see some videos of the performance/speed/etc with the 2.5 HP on it. Thanks agin!
@@Kayakinbassbusta 'nother quick question: did you leave your battery in the back compartment once you mounted an outboard on it or did you move the battery to the front to balance it out? Mine was pretty back heavy with the batt and trolling motor on the back so I thought moving the battery up front with the trolling motor might help counter- balance the weight somewhat. Plus I could save on heavy duty cable if i don't have to run it all from the back.
The bend in the transom is naturally what it does. I was the original guy who put the Xi5 on the front. I’ve never had anything mounted to the back and I still have the bow in the back. The only thing I can think of is when you store the boat upright the drain plug somehow distorts the back 🤷♂️
Great minds think alike I knew I'd front mount the motor on it the day I purchased it. Yeah it actually bends like that sadly with an outboard it puts too much thrust on it and actually pushes it against the drain plug making it hard to turn or even turn it all since I've mounted the plate I have no issues whatsoever doesn't bend at all
@@dmott9750 so I ordered a 2x2 sheet of 1/8 in aluminum and made sure it ran from the bolted area all the way down to the bottom of the boat then cut out a slot where the drain plug is. Doing to from top to bottom allows it to transfer all the pressure to the most ridgid points then I lined up the bolt holes and bolted the plate to the back but I used some rubber washers from lowes on the back to isolate it from some pressure and vibration....I simply cut the aluminum with a jig saw with a metal blade then used a belt sander and file to smooth the edges
@@Kayakinbassbusta you put the same plate back over the aluminum as seen in this video? Nothing under there aluminum? Just trying to see exactly how since I'm ordering one and getting an outboard. Guess you had some bolts at bottom of aluminum and sealed with marine epoxy?
I have a question. So I am working on mine directly for a bowfishing rig. I have a minnkota ipilot with 3 lithium batteries. So 91 lbs in batteries and about 50 for motor and bracket. I weigh 270-280 lbs and am thinking about adding the same motor. What do you weigh? Because if I stand at the extreme front of the boat. I can get water over the gunnel. My batteries are located one on the right one on the left and one in the battery box to offset the bow mount trolling motor.
I assume you need the batteries for the stadium lights required to bow fish? Otherwise that's total overkill for the trolling motor....I weigh about 190 and it only sits about a foot in the water and never gets close to the top side even if I stand on the edge
I was wondering if maybe you had the trim adjustment set to the lowest level. I know the motor would be more at a slant if you were to adjust it but I was thinking that would compensate for the thrust. Let me know if you saw this or if this is correct.
Why I was asking is because I too just bought That motor for the roundabout. I haven’t got the boat yet to try it out. I am hoping that others chime in
It will flex....I adjusted the trim out because it was sending me to the moon trimmed in ......I'll have my aluminum plate tomorrow so I'll update on how it works afterwards

With the limited bow of the boat it pushes water hard so you can expect about 4.7-5mph but it'll run for a long time on a tank

Anyway you could show detail on your light wiring? Nav lights and such. Thinking of buying one of these and are a newbie to wiring. Thanks!

Any updates?? How is the 1/8” aluminum transom working out?
Fishing in it daily! Aluminum worked out great totally fixed the problem
@@Kayakinbassbusta could you please make a video showing how to improve transom for outboard? Thanks

I sure would like to have one of these boat's, especially if I could get a good used one.
They are a great little boat
Think 1/4” aluminum from top to bottom would work?

Kayakin Bassbusta yes. The excessive batteries is for lighting, graph, and trolling motor. I am running 16 flood lights.
