I think this is a smart plan, if you save your money while you’re going to college, and live at home so you don’t pay extra for housing, you could graduate with your degree and get a great job and then with your saved money and your new job you could finally move wherever you want! Live your dream in New York, or wherever else you decide you want to go. I think if you stick to this it will really pay off when you’re in your 20’s.
bruh people need to chill with making her feel like she NEEDS to be on campus. some people dont want the debt nor have the money to dorm. dont push it on someone if they feel comfortable not dorming. she will still be in college just not sleeping there. calm down
I agree with this!! Im going to community college, getting my bachelors there (as it’s offered), living with my parents during the four years, not taking any student loans (im employed so that’s how I’ll be paying for college); I feel that we all need to know that college students don’t NEED to live on campus 😌
I just finished my freshman year in college as a criminal justice major with a minor in psychology and cybersecurity and I have loved it so far. Both of my justice classes were so interesting and informative. Will say that you can’t do too much without further education with CJ. My dream job is criminal psychology/ profiling. But I might pursue more cybercrime aspect as it pays more
I decided to go to a big school right out of high school and I HATED it. Wasted SO MUCH MONEY and had a horrible time. Decided to transfer to a school about half an hour from my house and am now so much happier and saving so much money, and living at home is really not that bad, and I can use the money I’m saving to be able to afford to live where I choose after!
Well thought out Karli. Congratulations well done. You have time on your side. That lesson you learned re, what your fellow student's think is irrelevant, should stay with you your whole life. Your family must be so proud. With some people its not what they have achieved, its the way they achieve! Once again Congrats and Enjoy.
Wow it’s so crazy how I’ve literally watched you grow up from doing morning routines to now college! I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and now I’m in law school and you’re definitely going to love it! Every class is cool and stress free. Good luck!
Good for you for deciding to attend college! I'm a senior in college now and I honestly feel like you may hate not having the normal college experience. The fun about college is partying and meeting new people and even living with them. The cost is a lot but it's worth it! Also, it's way better than high school in the sense you have even more freedom and you may have like one class a day. Just my thoughts! I know a lot of people that stay at home and go to college, end up being lonely and hate college so I don't want that to be the case for you.
Not sure if you have applied yet but also check your local tech program/school too. Sometimes they will have criminal justice programs and it could help you get started for even cheaper! Most tech schools have online programs too. I'm excited for you karli! Also don't let comments about missing the college experience get to you. I stayed at home for college and still went out with friends, I just didn't live on campus/on my own.
Karlie I really think you should get the full experience and stay in the dorms. It really teaches you a lot and makes you so independent. You’ll also make a ton of friends that way and I think you would really enjoy it. College is so much different from high school.
I am a true crime junkie and I would have loved to do something with forensics. I'm 43 now and didn't even know the options at the time but I look forward to watching you go through it. It sounds so interesting and never boring.
You have always had a really good head on your shoulders and this just proves it. Congrats! I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. I have absolutely no doubt it'll be amazing!
congrats karli!! i’ve been watching our family nest since 4th grade i think and i always loved watching cause you and i are the same age!!! #classof2022
Hi I finished high School last year and decided to go to College and study financial accounting, but completely Online and my exams are online. Went from in person high School to completely online is very weird at first, but now so happy with that choice that I made.
For awhile I also said I wont be going to college. I also am the same as you, enjoyed online school way more! I start in October, also completely online.
I just saw on instagram and saw that you graduated. Congrats!!! I feel old. I remember watching when you left 6th grade and now your a high school graduate.
Congrats Karli I’m so proud of u!!! Im glad you decided to attend college because it’s great and that major sounds perfect for u! Hopefully in the future you’ll want to take in-person classes because my sister has that major and said u gain a lot from experiencing in the classroom and it’s great to see who your classmates are❤️
Congratulations Karli on graduating highschool and deciding on going to college! 🎉🥳❤️💕🥰 I'm so proud of you! If you want to do college online then do it online. Don't worry about what other people think about you or that.
I just graduated with my bachelor's in psychology! I'm considering going to graduate school to get my masters in forensic psych.....I wish you the best!!! You're gonna love college!
congratulations! At first, I wanted to major in criminology but later switched to Business, but I'm thinking about going further in college and getting a degree in criminology in the future.
Congradualtions on graudating, Im currently in forensic science major as well and as far I can say I love it and it really is an interesting experience. Congrats on your decision!!!!
I am the exact same way. I just graduated with my Associate degree from CC and now I’m going to be getting my BA online because personally I also work better alone in my bedroom
The University of Toledo is a nice school. Technically it's my school's rival because I go to BG but you'll have a lot of fun. College is fun as long as you find your balance.
Kinda scary how similar our process was. I would love to go to John Jay in NYC for forensic psychology, but it’s just not practical right now. Instead I’m doing Criminal Justice in state. I’m happy for you and your decision, and hope it all works out well!
Congrats Karli!!! I also wanted to major in criminal justice but then I switched to civil engineering lol! I totally see you doing something in forensic science :)
@@mariamhabana5905 I actually love it. I’m at Oregon State and the classes and professors are great! I’ve always been interested in transportation, driving, and highways so I love it :)
@@mariamhabana5905 there’s actually a lot of branches under civil engineering like transportation engineering, highway engineering, water resources, coastal engineering, and geotechnical engineering. And yes civil engineering can cover buildings and houses if that is what you want to focus on.
You may change your mind down the road. A lot of people change their majors once they start. Not sure it’s a degree you can use? I know several people who have that aren’t able to use their degree. Any college is good though. Happy for you

In person school is great becuase you get to interact with people and professor. Have the full time in campus college and activities. I dont want you to be lonely.
You should go to college. You don’t want to have any regrets when you see all your peers leaving for college late this summer. FOMO will be real. I’m proud of you.
I don’t think fomo should be the reason of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to study random things bc you don’t know what to do just to change paths in the middle of it... like I don’t understand how ppl think like you

I am not from the states so its hard to understand how you can do online college, like all the degrees have that option? Also I don’t really get the major and minor thing, where I live its simple, there are different degrees; medicine, biotechnology, odontology, philosophy you know, easy to choose I guess, in the states it seems like you have so many opcions and you can mix a lot of things together
I hate to say anything negative but I was a criminal justice major in college and ended up switching because it’s really not what you think especially for career choices out of college. It’s pretty much impossible to get into that field without having some sort of law enforcement experience, so you’re pretty much out of luck since you said you don’t want to be a cop. I know everyone’s dream is to get into the fbi or stuff like that, but again pretty much impossible without law enforcement experience. Forensic science usually requires the same thing or some kind of science related experience. I’d just urge you to look up jobs you think you’d be interested in and look at the qualifications first to give you a better idea. I just hate to see someone waste their time in college like I did!
