I was the happiest I had ever been in my life. We were basically living g with each other for 6 months then out of the blue, she broke it off. I still have no idea why, here, 40 years later. Right now, I’m very happily married for 33 years. She’s divorced. Her husband left her. I feel bad for her. You never forget your first love. I was crying everyday for months.
I hope that listening to this gives you solace. I listen to it because of what my life was like growing up enduring narcissistic abuse from my father. I know. Been there. I fell hard for the girl of my dreams. Everyone said we were the cutest couple they knew while in college. I was the happiest I had ever been in my life. We were basically living g with each other for 6 months then out of the blue, she broke it off. I still have no idea why, here, 40 years later.
Right now, I’m very happily married for 33 years. She’s divorced. Her husband left her. I feel bad for her.
You never forget your first love. I was crying everyday for months.
I hope that listening to this gives you solace. I listen to it because of what my life was like growing up enduring narcissistic abuse from my father. I had always hoped for someone to notice and offer help, but it didn't come until I was well into adulthood. I am forever grateful to those who helped later. I am sorry they didn't give you a chance. Their loss!

Benny wasn't a "one hit wonder" as in this song was #1three times after 1980, but I agree with you. hard to believe that his other songs didn't get the same accolades. many were great. RIP Benny- See you down the road.
