Recurrent dislocation can be treated in a minimally invasive way with botulinum toxin injections or autologous blood therapy. Basically, if the muscles around the temporomandibular joints are weak or if one side is stronger than the other side then it’s very easy for the joint(s) to pop out of their sockets. Treatment:- Put a moist heating pad on your jaw immediately. Don’t panic, in fact you want to take deep breaths to try to relax. Meditate, listen to Quran, whatever you need to do to relax as much as possible. After 10-20 minutes, try to slowly open and close your mouth gently. If this doesn’t cause more pain, then try to move your jaw gently from side to side. And by massage.
Q1) Acute TMJ Dislocation i.e. Condylar process moves out of and forwards from its normal lodging position (Mandibular Fossa of Temporal bone) Pain is relieved by performing Mandibular Reduction Maneuver where we push the lower jaw downwards then backwards in an attempt to put back the condyle into its normal sitting place.
