Remember he hadn't signed anything yet other than putting a deposit down over the phone. Those of us that have worked in car sales know what it means to "squeeze" someone. For the permit to move dirt around, not sure if it applies to “homeowners” but commercially there needs to be a “notice of intent(noi)” filed with the EPA for anything over .25 acre of disturbance. And for the duration of the disturbance including time it takes for Revegetation you must have a SWPPP(storm water pollution prevention plan) to track and mitigate soil pollution in to water ways. From my personal experience Ohio has the sketchiest car dealerships. Just searching for a used car, the two dealers I got in touch with were trying to sell me frame damaged cars without disclosing it and verbally saying that there was no damage at all. I later found they had 45 BBB complaints against them in the past couple of years all for the same reason. Use Autocheck instead of carfax, as carfax can take an extra month to update their database which is when these used dealers try to get rid of them with “great deals”. This isn’t the same issue as you but just a tip to others who haven’t dealt with it yet.
Typical dealership. Glad I stopped selling cars. Felt shitty the day I realized I was ripping people off and my motivation went downhill from there. The money was good just didn't feel right.Worst part is the managers encourage and if you try to "help out" the customer you become persona non-grata and you get talked to by management...so much shady shit happens I don't know where to start.
They didn’t want to sell it to you because you had your own cash. They want to finance it and juice the deal. And they want to sell a bunch of extras like paint and wheel protection.
He needs to get a financial planner. He's new money, and he has no idea how to manage it. Paint for a 6 figure car outright is so stupid. Now the dealership is making money with it instead of him making money with it. It doesn't have anything to do with "juicing the deal." He said that ask if the TRXs he's seen are selling for >$10k over sticker, and they realized they were leaving money on the table. So they relisted it for $5k over sticker.
We were going to be paying cash for a new Buick SUV some years ago. We gave a deposit and were on our way to pick up the SUV and were told that we couldn't have the vehicle unless we financed it. The dealer wanted the kick back for financing. This was a local dealer we had dealt with previously and had leased a few cars and bought a new Silverado from. I didn't want to go through the BS of looking for another vehicle, so I took their deal and financed their car. Subsequently, the dealer went out of business. I don't know if it was related, but the owner's wife had a gaming problem and embezzled about $500,000 from a law firm she was a secretary for. I guess on any given day, any business, reputable or not, can go south on you.

Imagine the expose they would've gotten. Worth more than that $5k.
The fact that they took a deposit and then screwed you is shady on another level. If they had just listed it and got a bunch of calls to buy at MsRP, I could see a shady dealer relisting it for more. But if they took your deposit they need to stick to their word.
The guy in the caddy probably owns a dairy that’s why he has the stickers
Or their whole house is plastered with cow decorations...
Nah let us know the dealership Im in ohio rather know to avoid them
You whistlindieseled the first one lol
Hey you're getting my TRX dirty. Lol

Yes you are correct. Dealerships are horrible now a days
