Actually, one of my friend's parents are multi-millionaires. Their home cost 30mil types. But when I visit his room, they make him sleep on the floor, in a mattress, there is not even a bed. And he never gets pocket money. He actually would take leftover food at Macdonalds. His parents truly believe he is not entitled to their money or their luxury.
She'd be there in a second for him if he was really living in "extreme " poverty. How disrespectful to those that truly are. I don't have a mommy worth millions to help me. Wow.... When will we be seeing him at the local food pantry? Ugh
There's no pleasing people. If they pay his expenses, they're coddling/spoiling him; if they make him pay his own way, it's disrespectful to those who are "actually poor"? She clearly was joking about him being in extreme poverty because this is the closest he'll likely ever be to it, as his parents are well off and he always lived well. This is his first taste of having to pay all his own expenses and she was using hyperbole to make it an entertaining story for TV.
@@BasicOtter The ONLY thing disrespectful here is Kelly referring to her son living in extreme poverty. There are actual people living that. Her son will never live that. It's shameful that she even said it, honestly.
When Michael finds himself waiting hours and hours at a welfare office seeking the government's assistance in order to live day by day . . . When Michael finds himself turning on the stove for heat because the apartment has no heat . . . When Michael has to choose between eating for a few days or visiting a doctor for an illness or medical condition and paying a $30 copay . . . When Michael is wearing t-shirts, socks, and shoes with holes for years because even a pair of socks is too expensive . . . When Michael has to tolerate living in a decrepit apartment with holes and peeling lead paint because the landlord is trying to force him out but he has no money to move . . . and finally . . . When Michael has no secret safety net to rescue him if his finances and living conditions fall apart and he finds himself on the street fighting other homeless for a cardboard box to sleep in. . . then, and only then, could you say, as a "joke," that Michael just might possibly be living in extreme poverty. I'm almost sure that the people living in those conditions are laughing hysterically at your joke, because, of course, they can absolutely relate to Michael's current "extreme poverty". Oh, Kelly, you're a riot.
Good God I can't believe the flak going on about Kelly's comments about how he is doing on his own. To him it's extreme poverty but he's not actually. She received so much nonsense over this. People do something positive and stop the nonsense over a silly comment.
I think Kelly's misunderstood. I think she means "poverty" like he's living the normal real average life not the comfortable, high end life. Pretty sure they paid all their kids tuition bills and everything else is on their own. Thats what parents usually do.
That’s what parents usually do? Not here. Kids get a student loan and if that doesn’t cover it, there is a student line of credit which parents will cosign but not expected to pay it off.
well rich parents or on the comfortable end. I know Steve harvey pays all his kids tuitions and they do everything else on their own. So does a family friend I know and they ain't rich just comfortable.
Oh wow!! Imagine that. Her son is chronically poor. I feel so sorry for him. I can only imagine how hard life is for the son of a celebrity. Now, these rich, self-absorved, entitled, priviledged people think they understand poverty? Imagine that!
Funny. No wonder the kids get embarrassed by their parents. Such a beautiful couple, doing financially well with as attractive young offspring, and hearing stories of home life on the air. Both parents and offspring have everything going for them and are very down-to-earth.
Its a problem for Lola. Shes the goddess prima donna. I get it. I have a first born daughter. And omg, gag me with a spoon. Shes just mean, and gives me attitude. But... i just act worse. Lol
Seriously? We are becoming a generation where everything is so 'inappropriate' nowadays. Where are our laughs? Why are we so uptight? She was joking! Relax people!!
It's obvious from the comments here none of you have raised a child to adulthood. You don't know this woman's situation growing up or the conditions in which she lived. None of you are acknowledging she and her husband are still married and they've raised kids who have avoided the pitfalls of most celebrity kids and seem to be decent, normal people. She earned her money and I'm sure struggled in the beginning. It seems she's willing to let her children do the same.
I have and he's paying for his own college education because I can't afford to. Kelly did not grow up in poverty. She came from a middle class family and yes, I agree, her kids seem decent, but let's face it, they'll never really struggle for anything. She made a stupid comment that just wasn't funny when she's now worth 100 million. I don't believe for one second that he's not using her Black Card to buy whatever his heart desires because he can. It's all an act and she just sounds ridiculous.
better secret Everyone knows that she was joking. You don’t need to explain it. It was just a terrible “joke,” that’s all. Not funny, not cute, just idiotic.
I kinda love this, but I kinda hate it. If I had two famous parents and estates to enjoy, I'd really want to use that wealth to make friends. Then again, I know what kind of friends I know that attracts. Then again, comparatively, I know at NYU, much wealthier and more famous offspring attend. Maybe there's a happy medium? I admit. I'm 50. I still use my family's wealth to get ahead in this shitty world.
Kelly saying that her son is experiencing extreme poverty could be the truth.....maybe she and Mark want them to struggle the way they did before they became successful. They both didn't come from money and they want their children to learn the value of working hard to make their own money. It seems like they want their kids to become independent and not depend on Mommy and Daddy for anything.

People are so striggered. She may or not have lived in poverty herself but she probably didn't earn the money that she does now before she made it and the same with her husband Mark. I like the fact their letting them 'struggle' when they are leaving. They might help them out abit but that's what all parents do. People are so judgey these days.
Try being homeless and trying to avoid the shelter and sleeping in your car in winter wondering what your next meal is....then get back to me on extreme
Its all right to teach them the hard way, but this world just isn't the same for young people as it was when i was coming up. If I had their money I would pay for everything and a year after graduation to get it together . If they were employed and paying their bills. Me and dad would secretly put money aside for the next few years to help with a down-payment on their first house.
That's in no way poverty. Having to family you can go to at any point to help out if you need it is the opposite of poverty. Shows how spoiled these rich white kids are
I know a lot of y’all are pressed about what she says but I know rich kids who’s parents send em off to college and say “okay figure it out” and that’s it. just bc the parents are rich doesn’t mean they’re gonna share that with their kids past 18 every parent is different

Its so disingenuine when extremely wealthy people try and convince others they are allowing their children to struggle financially. Drop the bit, not funny not cute not believable.
Bre Ballz notice no reaction from the audience until she asked for one
Actually, one of my friend's parents are multi-millionaires. Their home cost 30mil types. But when I visit his room, they make him sleep on the floor, in a mattress, there is not even a bed. And he never gets pocket money. He actually would take leftover food at Macdonalds. His parents truly believe he is not entitled to their money or their luxury.
I love her!!!!!!
Cutie pie
You have to teach them to live and support themselves otherwise they are ALWAYS thinking you will bail them out.
People need to chill.
Agree
Love her!
God you people need to relax, clearly you guys can't take a joke ffs smh
Ikr!
She'd be there in a second for him if he was really living in "extreme " poverty. How disrespectful to those that truly are. I don't have a mommy worth millions to help me. Wow.... When will we be seeing him at the local food pantry? Ugh
Exactly. The only thing that gets me through is this verse- Luke 6:24 "But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort."
Extreme poverty...really?
It was an OBVIOUS joke
Mrs Ripa I apologise!
You taught ME!
Thank you!
You have a seat at the Masters' table two ☠️....survive.
I could look and listen to her for hours.
rich people wanna look down-to-earth so BADLY
Exactly!
Pretty sure isn’t proof. We all have no idea what her kids pay for.
I feel bad for Kelly's kids that she says she doesn't want her kids around. :(
I see that the joke flew over your head!
She probably wants her kids to experience what it's like to survive without the added cushion of wealth like how she and Mark grew up.
So true, they become more respectful of life!!
As Moe from the Three Stooges once said to Curly: “How do you spell head? B-O-N-E! Head.”
Kelly looks great! Loved this show!
🤮😴
Oh wow!! Imagine that. Her son is chronically poor. I feel so sorry for him. I can only imagine how hard life is for the son of a celebrity. Now, these rich, self-absorved, entitled, priviledged people think they understand poverty? Imagine that!
Just looked on Google says she's worth 120 millions ahah
@@rogerchair5550 she's chronically poor 😂😂😂 I feel sorry for her and her poor little son living in poverty. What a chronically bullshitter!!!
And somehiw will end up with the best job with the best pay..... Hmmmmmmm
She is absolutely gorgeous in person.
Like i said thank Ms Ripa!
Lol
She is perfect
#1 if her kid is poor it's really crappy of her to talk about it. #2 if her kid isn't poor it's really crappy of her to talk about it.

DID I HEAR THIS SHOW IS LIVE IN BROOKLYN N.Y.??!
Seriously? We are becoming a generation where everything is so 'inappropriate' nowadays. Where are our laughs? Why are we so uptight? She was joking! Relax people!!
For sure!
It's all an act and she just sounds ridiculous.
her son will thank them both once he becomes a real, responsible man. Kudos to both Kelly and Mark.
That is true
My dog just left a steaming pile of ripa on the sidewalk.
I hope she looks back at this and understands how ridiculous she sounded.
Kelly loves attention,
She's a narcissist through and through
This is a COMEDY show! Not an interview for the new york times!
She is JOKING.
I am so happy I don't live in America, you guys need to chill a bit
better secret Everyone knows that she was joking.
😎DID I HEAR THIS SHOW IS LIVE IN BROOKLYN N.Y.??!
I wouldn't go live on air to talk trash about my kids
she's so cute I can't stand it!
Kelly Ripa is a dream girl. I have loved her forever. Funny, beautiful, intelligent. She is the perfect talk show guest. Jimmy, I like you best in the talk show circuit, because you actually shut up and let your guest talk without interruption. You have a great show, Jimmy.
Kelly never shuts her trap always cutting in can't stand her
Why is there such an echo?
5:37 Oh, that is why!
I remember a person telling his 3 sons that me and your mom are Rich your poor!🤣🤣😅😅😂
What does she consider 'extreme poverty'?,
not being able to tip the waiter at an upscale restaurant. Is she for freakin real???
annedanni Sammute if you paid attention she said what it was. Stop with the bullshit
Trust me her kids know nothing about being poor!! She's a good mother and her husband as well have provided a great life for their children.. So try lying to someone else Kelly lol
I just looked on Google says she's worth 120 millions lmao
Came for the comments
People are so striggered. She may or not have lived in poverty herself but she probably didn't earn the money that she does now before she made it and the same with her husband Mark. I like the fact their letting them 'struggle' when they are leaving. They might help them out abit but that's what all parents do. People are so judgey these days.
Naw, shes a mother. Her kids are gold to go ti college. Thats a huge deal
Try being homeless and trying to avoid the shelter and sleeping in your car in winter wondering what your next meal is....then get back to me on extreme
Oh yeah definitely. I've had to do that a time or two and I work in medical care. God bless stay safe.
@@ashpasch6004 you stay safe too!
She said her son works, but I’m sure it isn’t at McDonalds. I think he works in movies and tv, so he doesn’t exactly make minimum wage.
That's in no way poverty. Having to family you can go to at any point to help out if you need it is the opposite of poverty. Shows how spoiled these rich white kids are
Almost half a century
I know a lot of y’all are pressed about what she says but I know rich kids who’s parents send em off to college and say “okay figure it out” and that’s it. just bc the parents are rich doesn’t mean they’re gonna share that with their kids past 18 every parent is different
Her daughter just got into college...hum..... the scam of rich people putting their kids into college still live and well....
These people are here for our entertainment. So you haters cant even do what they have done for themselves much less share your everyday living with humor and a smile. Most of you would be telling it from your bed... not dressed or bathed dirty dishes laying around more depressed and crying sharing your story. When I turn on my TV I would rather hear her version than you neg jealous haters . Roll over find the remote and watch something else. What an idea!!!
Out of touch, irresponsible comment, I wonder if she ever did anything for an extremely poor person, specially in New York city where homelessness in chronic. Poverty is not a punch line, if anything it's something we have to debate, analyze, prevent and work to solve all together as a society. Either way this woman never has anything constructive or smart to say that would benefit society, ignore her as much as you can and don't buy the products she advertises. If she only knew that a lot of wealthy individuals like Bill Gates who saves millions from disease by giving away free vaccines. Believe me ignore her like a child throwing a tantrum and she will go away, or better get fired
Who believes she doesn't make sure her kids utilities and rent are paid?
Kelly talks too much !! Sometimes when people talk too much, they get carried away and say stupid things ! Knock it off Kelly and also let people finish their stories before you interrupt them with yours. It's always me, me, we, we.
Well of course the universe was builted around her .But her motor mouth running was probably due to her wine drinking. She thinks she is all of that a damn zit more like it.I am not a fan of hers. Not even on the Young and the restless.
Today's costume, mini-wizard.
Hey kelly💞💞💞💞💞
DEPLORABLE, just deplorable. Sickening - those comments about living in so called "poverty."
Her kids have lived a live of privelege cause of there careers so of course they sneak back to the cushy townhouse now. Omg her daughter had a party on there roof lol. Most college kids would be partying in the dorms. Sort of direspectful to do that on ya parents property.
Daughter sounds like a spoiled brat actually. Kids that dont aporeciate 20.00? Live rhe real world and see what living in povertt is. Obviously if he has 2 grand fir an apt hes not in poverty.
@@jomariekonerth2778 it is New York City. Apartments start off at 1500 a month for a closet
Yeh get the sense kelly lola but heads alot. They try to outsmart the other. As much as kelly says they have normal kids. But really they have lived a life of privilege cortesy of them. Living in a nice plushy townhouse in NYC, private school, horseback riding lessons, a tailor to make ya prom dress. going to college in nyu. So yeh kelly got nib in the bud somewhere. Esp with the daughter she had too good and knows it. Bringing ya college buds home to ya parents townhouse while away to be miss popular omg my parents be pissed if i did that.
If i were her I would go back to college. There’s no better than having that real education even though she’s that successful. Age don’t matter. Can tell someone if they never have a degree in college by the way they act kinda aggressive.
Jimmy, I love you, but please. No more fake people.
I’m hoping she was being sarcastic
She is JOKING!!!!!
Don't you know her son worries about the electric being paid...Good grief
She a multimillionaire , keeping her kids poor , that very very sad 😢😢😢😢
