Fascinating. I started my interest in antique bottles when my mother and father discovered 'Lydia Pinkham' and her story. Since then I have moved to France and a restoration house and garden. The garden especially has been like digging for treasure in that I have found a number of old buried bottles (as well as lots of old broken glass). I have thoroughly enjoyed researching them. And now have found your channel to add to my knowledge.
History is so fun. Thats awesome, that you have a history treasure trove in your backyard. I have yet to go digging, i usually go to antique stores and flea markets and treasure hunt that way. I have an old Florida Water glass bottle, Cathedral Brand Chief Wahoo's Electric Tonic( iirc, they are packed away), and a broken liver tonic bottle that I now have succulents planted in. Found them in a box in the woods near my house years ago. There were two brilliant blue 'jars', but I think those were just decoration, they sit on my windowsill. All in excellent condition, but I see they are pretty commonly found online, was hoping I was sat on a gold mine! Lol
I actually been keeping my eye out for a florida water bottle. Sound like you got some good ones! Even if there some common ones in there, its still cool because they are never going to be made again. :)
Well he started selling his microbe killer in 1886 in Texas and by 1890 he was living in Manhattan. And if memory serves he had about 17 factories making the stuff. Oh and there are also aqua versions of the bottle but they seem to be mostly from Australia.
