  • The Rode RodeLink wireless Filmmaker kit represents a paradigm shift in affordable sound production equipment, launched at the BVE show in 2015.
    The RodeLink is a digital wireless microphone system that includes a Lavalier Microphone, as well a transmitter body pack and receiver system. The system is completely digital which means you do not need a license to use the RodeLink Wireless microphone system. Ease of operation is also at the core of the RodeLink, and pairing the systems together is a breeze.

    This will seem strange but I'm looking for a way to help my elderly parents in law, communicate better. I'm planning on letting my mother in law wear the lavalier mic, and for my hard of hearing father in law to plug a set of quality headphones (which I already have) directly into the receiver's 3/8 inch port. It seems to me that the port has to be an output port so in my mind, at least, that seems like it would work. I'm working on a way to get her miked so that he can hear her and for her to not have to carry a clunky microphone to do it and i'm hoping to use as little equipment as possible.

    I just got the unit in the mail today here in the Netherlands. Pretty unexpected to be honest as the ETA was set to be in two weeks. I did an unboxing of the unit on my channel!

    I'm curious, is the included lavalier the SAME as the "Rode Lavalier" that is currently Rodes top of the line wired lav?
    If so, that would make this an -incredible- value.

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV 9 років тому +1

      mpxz999 Yes, same mic! You don't unfortunately get the little hard case included with the Lavalier, but you do get the Lavalier mic itself, drawstring carrying pouch, Lav foam cover, furry wind cover, tie clip, Micon-1 connector and adjustment tool if you ever want to replace the capsule.

    At 1:01 you say you can 'have multiple units connected, they'll find their own channels'. What does this mean? You can use two or more transmitters simultaneously? Please clarify.

    • @Eastwoodsoundandvision_esv
      @Eastwoodsoundandvision_esv  9 років тому

      The Bright Pixel Hello. Once a transmitter is paired to a receiver it automatically scans the best channels for it to operate on. Because it's digital, it literally has thousands of channels to chose from to give you the best signal possible. You can currently have up to 8 of these systems in one environment.

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV 9 років тому

      The Bright Pixel That's right, you can use up to eight transmitters/receivers at once. Each transmitter will need their own receiver, should have been clearer on that! :)

      Eastwood (Sound and Vision) Ltd Oh ok.... That's why it's probably cheaper than let's say a G3 system, right? There I have 12 Main channels :/ why is it only half the price of a g3 system besides that? There must be some downfall right?

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV 8 років тому

      No, you need to have one dedicated receiver for each transmitter I'm afraid.

    Hi, we have recently purchased two of these and we have connected it to the TESCAM DR 60D Mkll, we are quite up to speed with mics, but we are having problems with the quality of the sound that is being recorded, it is very low when it comes to listening to it and yet all the indicators show it is recording at a good level and the headphones also give off an indication sound is good, but its not. Can any one give us any clues as to what leads we should be using or other tips as to how we can improve the sound quality (Level) thank you.

      did you solved?

    • @rorymarsh
      @rorymarsh 6 років тому

      For anyone that may need an answer to this - we adjusted the transmitter to +10dB on the transmitter, and Gain on the TASCAM to Mid and we've had no issues with audio quality.

    So it only comes w one mic? Id like to shoot a scene w two people. Would i need to buy two sets?

    • @Eastwoodsoundandvision_esv
      @Eastwoodsoundandvision_esv  9 років тому

      Michael272727 Yes, you would need a system per individual, so if you have an interview with two people then you would need two sets. Alternatively you could use a single boom microphone like the Rode NTG shotgun microphones if its two actors in a scene.

    • @MrSoulDevelopment
      @MrSoulDevelopment 9 років тому

      Eastwood (Sound and Vision) Ltd So you could have a transmitter+mic per person, both feeding audio to the one receiver which is connected directly to a DSLR, correct?

    • @mannot
      @mannot 9 років тому

      Would like to know this as well :-)

    • @SourceDistributionTV
      @SourceDistributionTV 9 років тому

      Mischa Mannot You could also get a dual mono 3.5mm socket > stereo TRS adapter, and connect both Filmmaker Kits to one DSLR input - one would get recorded to the left channel, the other to the right channel.

    • @mannot

      SourceDistributionTV Thanks for your response. So never more than one receiver, even with two people?
