My father was sal zeuner rip he rode with stu and pk and Byron Friday. He was a dg factory rider. My granny put all the west coast guys up in her house in Vineland NJ when they were here on the east coast. These videos are amazing and is allowing me to see what my old man was doing all those years ago. Keep it radical. Sal

Man, great throwback to my bmx experience in the early 80’s.. We built trails/tracks by hand with shovels, pick axes and rakes.. We carved them thru the drainage ditches and the woods.

I remember the ole Rubber Band Starting Gate!!
The person at the end almost always got it wrapped up in their spokes! 🤣🤣

I just got back in to BMX racing this year. I’m now 48 years old. Last time I had raced was in ‘91. The tracks of today are far more technical and aggressive than yesteryears, which is great. I’m having a blast!

customvideo454 I actually have a 20” Powerlite that I ride around the neighborhood now. Sadly, the closest track is 2 hours away. Maybe a good thing though, the last time I tried to race I almost killed myself.

Wonderful video. You can see why mountain bikes came on the scene after seeing them race on downhill tracks hey!

Nice video, cool to see the legends as adults fondly recalling those years in California when it was all new and wild. BMX was such a fantastic alternative for those of us--and I was a kid in California back then--who weren't much into the boring sports which they played at school.

For anybody who never raced Corona, ca. It was a down hill monster. Fast track, long track. Tore it up mid 80s ..it had a dirt oval for cas n flat track.. and a huge MX track.

My Grand Son now rides the same Mongoose I rode in 1976. Sure, I could've bought him a new bike yet where's the fun in that? And when he turns 16, he gets my 1978 Camero I bought for $600 in 1981.

My 10 speed racing team mate, used to smoke Thompson all the time, when he was racing BMX.
Then, he moved up to Tour de France style racing. Much tougher racing.

There were a lot of bikes being built like motorcycles with shocks. I had one. I could ram curbs full speed no problem. The day I rode out of the bike shop with my Motomag Mongoose, I got two flat tires a minute later when rammed the curb fast. No shocks. I didn't know how to bunny hop yet.
