Hi, I was watching Sarah's Stithy Spot floss tube when she mentioned meeting you at the Jingle Ball. I live in the US but my daughter-in-law is Austrian. Her name is Caroline (Caro) and lives with my son and their three children, in Wien. I've been to Austria several times and it has always been a delight. I'm a big fan of MFE and am stitching the Nordic Advent mystery stitch along as well. . Can't wait to follow you on floss tube. 💗

Love the Christmas Traditions! Forgot all about the blooming twigs. Remember my grandma being of the very south of Germany, also putting a twig in water and taking care of it. But I don't thing it is a real tradition north of Nürnberg. Krampus (South Germany) oder Knecht Ruprecht (North) is also a big part of the Nikolaus tradition. Just had a discussion with a friend, when does the Nikolaus has to visit. For me it was and still is the evening of the 6th. But I know a lot of people will gift the present in the morning of the 6th. So Nikolaus has come on the night from the 5th to the 6th. I think it has to to with the anticipation of the children and not be able to wait any longer.
Do you have also the tradition, that you put out a freshly cleaned boot in front of the door and in the boot Nicolaus will leave his presents?
