- Do you know it’s possible to know something about who Jesus is and still not truly be following him? Did you know that you can regularly attend church and desire many of the blessings of God’s salvation and still not be a Christian? In this message from Mark 8:31-38, David Platt points us to the sobering experience of Jesus’ disciples. Even with the recognition that Jesus was the Christ, the Deliverer God had promised, they didn’t yet fully understand the kind of Deliverer they needed. They didn’t realize that following Jesus would mean counting the cost and forsaking temporal comfort and pleasures in this world for the sake of finding greater, eternal pleasures in the life to come. What about you-have you considered what it really means to follow Jesus?

I know in my heart this is the truth..Jesus is Life…we don’t really understand what life really is because our way of thinking has been so perverted by the ways of the so the flesh and the enermy.

I feel like my life has broken His heart and brought so much shame etc to His name through my selfishness..declaring to be a Christian but living in denial of who Jesus really is.
We are to be sober..

There is a problem involving this man David Platt. Many of his congregation former members have spoken out regarding the handling of the ministry's finances, and social justice ideology infiltration in his sermons. I hope preachers who get up to speak on a pulpit are aware of the great responsibility and severity of accountability they have with God for themselves and for the people they preach to. Jeremiah 23 gives very solemn warning to those who sadly lead people astray and deceive them. Hope this man David Platt, is not abusing his authority as a preacher of the Word of God. If he is a true servant of God, He should humbly address this.
Jeremiah 23:1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord.
This verse although from the Old Testament, should be taken seriously even now in the present time, as there are many modern day false teacher and false prophets.
Theirs always someone who doesn’t like you what really should matter instead of listening to gossip listen to the word of God and grow from there!!
@@DeborahBarnard-ou1rw you completely missed the comment I posted. Jesus rebuked the scribes and pharisees of their hipocrisies in Matthew 23. If you your self dear Deborah, seem to get upset at preachers being corrected, and rebuked for their messages then please go to the word as well and understand what righteous judgment is and how it is applied when it comes to church practices that go off the rails. If you believe this is gossiping I encourage you to talk to Mr. David Platt in person. We.will all know if he has really donde what he is being rebuked and acussed from as the days pass. The truth is, that the United States has false teachers and false prophets taht are deceiving people with their own interpretations from Scripture. Just as apostle Paul did when he was confronted by false brethren , he did exposed them by name and their actions and deeds against him and against the church divide and to cause harm. If Mrm Platt is a servant of God he should not be hidding from those who just want to hear the truth.
