Similar headunit, crushes quite often. In the user manual says there's a hard reset mode in car infotaiment section, but there you only find a config reset, that even doesn´t reset anything, unit restarts and everything remains the same lol. Thanks a lot for this option mate!

I want to thank you on this advice to factory reset this device. I was looking everywhere how to reset my head unit and this was the only one that worked for me. Not mentioned anywhere in instructions that came with it. It seems you can just wait it to boot when the android-logo comes. It will happen eventually.

Thanks for the video. This solution worked for me about a year ago. After this hard reset everything went back to normal. Unfortunately 2 days ago my unit crashed again and this hard reset mode did not do the trick. I can only get the touch screen working, but I lost the possobility to use the steering wheel control buttons and the volume knob as well as the radio tuning knob

@what's dave done I'm glad you figured it out, what a way haha. Side note though, Eonon made a video themselves of how to do it on this model 2 years ago and when the android logo freezes, if you wait a few minutes (was about 4 or 5 for me) it loads in. Good video though!
What are these no-name Android units with the volume/select knobs like compared to branded ones like Eonon? Considering something for my T5 van. These ones are much cheaper and I like the idea of physical buttons and volume control.
No name no branded tend to run fake software and are not what are advertised. No name don't come with any warranty and no firmware updates. Obviously is upto you but I would avoid cheap none branded units....there will no no customer service if you need help.

I’ve had an issue with Bluetooth crashing and the same UI8?crashing every so often. I have a similar build model but with a dual wheel for volume. I hope this fixes it. I felt silly tapping with 5 fingers but then my stereo started to moan so I know she felt good!
Tried that on my headunit but only got "please check usb and files". This happend with 3,4 and 5 fingers. Without tapping it just reboot. Anyone have an idea with how many more fingers or where to tap
I got the samedi error ! This error msg let supposing we should have the firmware files in USB. I Nevers succeded to get this !!! Then I turn off the power, then pushibg RST for 10s + turn on the power + 5 fingers =》the headunit does hard reset itself ! So I suppose for this ROM there is not at all recovery menu where you can chose reset factory or update firmware from USB
I have a passat b6 and android multimedia. When I activate the parking brake, I cannot use the reverse camera, even though the transmission is in the R position (manual transmission) until I deactivate the parking brake. Is that normal? And sometimes we, while the car is idle (gearbox in N position) and under the parking brake automatically activates the reverse camera. Only when I deactivate the parking brake, everything is as it should be. Is there a problem with the canbus decoder? Thank you for your help.

Everything works as it should for me, only sometimes, when I'm on idle, I activate the handbrake the multimedia switches itself to the reverse camera, even when it is gearbox in the neutral position. So sometimes returns to the radio or CD normally, and then switches back to the reverse camera, which is very irritating. When I deactivate the parking brake (by pressing the P button) everything is as it should be. There must be something confusing it via the canbus decoder, and I tried all the possible settings and nothing.
Very odd that it just randomly thinks it's in reverse when it's not 🤔 how have you got your reverse camera wired, where are you getting power for the camera from?

Hello, I have the same problem with my radios. I think I understand the explanation, but do you also have a written explanation? I'm from the Netherlands, and my English isn't as fast as I'd like. with written explanation I can do it via translate.
Press reset button on the unit, as soon as you release the reset tap 5 fingers on the screen, continue doing this unit word pop up in top left corner. It will then enter factory reset mode. It might take a couple of attempts to get use to tapping 5 fingers all at same time. Some people found it easy to use 1 hand and others have had to use 2 fingers from 1 hand and 3 from the other.....good luck
so my 8227l has capacitive buttons that just stopped working along with mostly everything else and i need to do a factory reset and this isnt working for me, it seems like it is trying to do it as tapping causes a major delay in booting, any ideas?
@Mike R does your head unit have a "factory reset" option under the "about device" settings? If it doesn't then try tapping 3 finger from one hand and 2 from other, 5 fingers needs to be tapping the screen quite close together

It goes a loop Android starting, after reset and taping 5 fingers comes to calibration of the touch screen and backs again to its usual loop- Android is starting and no launcher comes up, any other ideas?

Good morning My radio work with this method: Press short reset, then again 2 time ,and then hold reset with power button till green android show up . After that comes the Reset menus for factory reset. Thanks

My daughter 🤣 yes it's was through frustration....I was tapinging the screen then my daughter started copying me and boom it went into recovery mode 🤪

Eonon runs different software and they have a different hard reset process....the unit in the video was a brosmartech unit 👍

There is no problem with the canbus. In the canbus setting you can turn off parking brake warning.

Hi mate does factory resetting delete the apps such as the zlink CarPlay app that came with the head unit ?
Factory reset should only remove apps that you have installed, factory installed apps should remain on the unit

Strange, normally the factory reset option will wipe all info and back to factory 🤔 try what I suggested with 2 hands

How did you wire it start like that? I couldn't get mine to power on.
Using a laptop charger, ground to out side of charger and 12v to centre of the charger

F-CAM app is for front camera, works as a parking aid. It came pre installed

Mine is stuck on the ANDROID 11 screen. Do you know how to get past that? It's the HiKity 9in for chevy sonic.
Have you tried resetting and tapping the screen with 5 fingers?

Does the unit have a manual reset button? Try 3 fingers from 1 hand and 2 from the other....all fingers in one and doesn't always register

You should be able to do it while still in the car....if you need to cut the power just turn ignition off and back on

@MiroSA-el6kv it can take a few attempts to get the 5 fingers positioned correctly....try using 2 hands

My radio work with this method:
Press short reset, then again 2 time ,and then hold reset with power button till green android show up .
After that comes the Reset menus for factory reset.
