As a tourist visiting Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I deeply respect your interest in my country. Addis Ababa is a vibrant and dynamic city that offers a blend of tradition and modernity. From the bustling markets to the historical landmarks like the National Museum and Holy Trinity Cathedral, there is much to explore and appreciate. The warmth and hospitality of the Ethiopian people will make your visit truly special. By showcasing your respect for Ethiopia through your UA-cam content, you can contribute to the positive portrayal of our country and help others discover its beauty. Thank you for your interest, and I hope you have a wonderful time exploring Addis Ababa.
An Ethiopian living abroad here. I suggest you travel with someone who is street smart( knows about the market price of most things). Just like any other country in the world, tourists are asked for a hefty price which is unnecessary. You could save yourself 50% of what you are spending for food and services by having someone who knows the price of things. That ertib thing for 12hundred is the steal of the century imo.
chicken shawarma are around 300/350 minimum + juice which is around 70/80 minimum so it's around 370/430 each in minimum that means 740/860 for both of you minimum... and know in Ethiopia we have only organic chickens that take 6 months to grow, this are not 7 day chickens. and this places charge more because of the place obviously, so that's not a scam just a high price place.
Agreed, he probably pays big rent to be there as well. Last time we got pizza at the top, it wasn't cheap either. You're paying a huge tourist up-charge at the square.
I felt the same way, when I lost my phone in Addis, two years ago. It feels horrible, but don't worry you get over it. But thank you for showing my beautiful people and city very well.
@@myertravels When they tell you "Trafic Ale" it doesn't mean Traffic flow but there are traffic police watching us if we stop we will be ticketed so we do not stop here, that is what they meant
Thats the most ugliest thing ever ,almost everybody has this, what makes me so angry is the way it is taken ,it is so fast so organized ...my mom also lost recently with a trick in car looks like drama ...shuwa shuwa...gladly there are security cameras being installed in everywhere ,i hope the cybersecurity gets improved to trace our phones.Dedicated to My Lovely OPPO RIP. :(
I am so mad for you... they dont deserve your positive energy and kindness. I understand its tough out there but where is the love?? U should get a local to travel with you that will keep them honest, so they dont try to take advantage. DEFINITELY ask for prices before any service, its not rude at all. Be careful brother, the vibe they give to foreigners is alarming. Bringing a local with you will definitely help open them up and be less defensive or sneaky. Most people are kind over there but i didnt like the way they treated you. No wonder you dont see so many foreigners back home. Gotta show love to good people. Thank you anyways for sharing and having such a great spirit. Hope you get invited to a familys house and get treated/fed like family. You can tip them afterwards if you truly enjoyed the experience as a welcome. Keep em comming tho, love the content and i subscribed in support of you❤
Have you seen Addis Zoo Park?? it is around Bole Welo Sefer. Before they called Pikok Park. I think now the called Addis Zoo Park. I do not think it is big but it is nice to visit it.💚💛❤
Berhane Adere building...I have never walked into the building but I know the owner😄 Did they overload that mini bus? They do that always when I travel... Happy Eid !!!
Nice video thanks Myers ,Thats ma fav sport, you should visit very early in the morning also and monthly group exercise day to have fun and meet more people.
Next time, have at least one local person hangin out with you when you do a tour. Trust me, things will go a lot smoother and you'll get your message across and communicate better
No they didn't scam him bro.. Prices on those food courts are extremely expensive.. i have been there.. their burgers are anywhere between 500-600 birr.. if u eat two burgers that would be 1200 Birr... they are crazy expensive..thats why they have NO customers at all. They open at 5PM and close at 8Pm so they have to a short profit span..that's why their prices are unimaginable
Now inflation in arising So everything is expensive Due to civil war conflicts they have Not to forgot plus including tax vat of 15% makes it even more expensive 😉
@@abyudelyakem6449I don’t know what people are thinking. The purpose of street food is to provide food for customers fast and with cheap price. Only in Ethiopia it is like luxury lol very sad
The price of food in Ethiopia, specially in Addis Ababa is crazy expensive.. most locals consider burgers and pizza as luxury food as they usually cost 1/4 of most Ethiopian's monthly salary.
Good vlog. The city levies a hefty surcharge for concession stands in the square, as cities across the world do. That is the reason for food and services being pricy there. And it is justified. There is cost to the city when concession stands operate in the square.
So they copied the same “Burger King” logo! I listened to your video that you lost your iPhone🙁 I am sorry brother, please be careful. Thank you for sharing your experience in Addis! Stay safe!!!

It must cost that price bcoz that food 🍱 is expensive in the Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and places also cost 💲 more rent that is why they charged u that amount bro 😎 but feel easy and good gents

Not true at all, even best Burger shops like In n Out, Enjoy or Wow bill you 4 or 5 USD for a burger 🍔, just exaggerated opinion.
@@mubtgya, but in Ethiopia people get paid in BIRR not USD E.g. 10,000 birr monthly (183$) which is nothing!
If your monthly salary is 800 it might be correct. Is yours like that?
@@m.y.m401 The average monthly salary in Ethiopia is 2500 Birr.. so..
