If not for injuries to Trevor and a subpar interior o-line we would not be talking about the controversy of paying him. The only area of concern with his performance is the propensity to fumble the ball. A better o-line will help mitigate that problem
Quarterbacks don't play against the opposing teams quarterback. They do however play against the other teams defense. That being said, these comments are pointless and uneducated.
I don't think Trevor can ask for much, There is a reason Mac Jones is here!!! We have a complete team. The only question is at Quarterback. Pay him when you have to. Don't get caught up in league trends. He needs a complete team: the more you need: the less you should get. The best player on the team is Josh Allen, and we didnt pay him 2 years early! The latter point of your thread explains why Mac Jones is here, IMHO. Doug will never publicly suggest the lack of confidence in CJ's physical abilities because he is a player's coach. However, behind the scenes, both he and Trent saw a great opportunity to pick up Mac who is still pretty young, mobile and a former pro bowler as a backup on the cheap. IMO, of course. We shall see how the year plays out. Hopefully, Trevor stays healthy and Mac is not needed to play significant time.
Get real Mac a immature back up who may not be the backup so if u want him to be ur starter send Trevor to another team n see if he was at San Fran or new York or even las Vegas I'd be picking #1 again probably a couple years in a row too y'all crazy if u think Mac is half what trevor is bro
