  • Recently the City of Santa Clara demolished an outdated elevated water storage tank on Walsh Avenue. This project involved the 500,000-gallon,167-foot tall elevated steel tank built in 1964 within the City's corporation yard. After the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, the tank was determined to be at risk during a major seismic event and has not been used since. The dramatic event was documented on video and is available on the City's website.
