  • If your Blue Yeti Mic is no longer turning on, it seems that the most likely culprit is a faulty/broken Mini USB port. You can fix this yourself, if your even remotely handy. For the cost of a cheap solder iron kit, and a replacement piece you can fix your $100 microphone, and have solder iron around your house to boot

Thank you so much. This helped me. Fortunately, I only had to squeeze the USD port a little, and now my mic works perfectly well again! You are the hero of the day!

I have a question for you: my yeti mic got the Mute button shoved really hard into it from a fall while i was away.
is there any way to pull it back out again?

yeah the mute button is really only held in with tiny clips. assuming they probably busted in the fall you should probably be able to just pull it out with a little wrench. but to be safe I'd just take it apart like i do in the video and just extract it and make sure it didn't damage anything else in there

you ordered it new? then I'd definitely return it... if not then might be worth taking apart and seeing if there are any clear burn marks or disconnections. or of you have a bench power supply you could connect and see where there are shorts, or spray with rubbing alcohol to see what part evaporates quickly to find faults

Do I need to unscrew it to pull the mute button out? My LED for the mute button died and I wanna replace it.

hmmm..i can now, but i don't think it's supposed to be like that .. there are flimsy little clips that look like it should hold it in place but mine are fatigued out enough it just pulls on and off with virtually no force

not without seeing it. do you see any burn marks on the board where a component burned up? solder joints all look complete?

I had fixed it but computer says not enough power and microphone lights

yuck.. sounds like a board component issue, or in other words above my abilities at the moment in terms of fixing/diagnosing

annoyingly your camera is very poor. Get a decent phone, even old ones from 2-3 years ago have decent auto focus. You can also put ur hand behind the thing ur showing and it will help focus.
