@@MarcosElMalo2False, New Spain abolished enslaving the natives and then encouraged the "Mestizo" but importing slaves was legal until Guerrero abolished AFTER our independence.

The original “El Grito” occurred in Dolores Hidalgo in the conservative state of Guanajuato. Many Mexican presidents have traveled to Dolores Hidalgo to reaffirm the Declaration of Independence embodied in El Grito, but AMLO is afraid of the reception he will get in this PAN stronghold.
This year the celebrations were somewhat muted in my town, compared to previous years. We are suffering economically, partly due to the global down turn, but also partly due to AMLO’s policies and handling of the Pandemic.
I usually avoid commenting on Mexican politics. It’s something I want to stay out of. But AMLO has shown himself to be a wolf in sheeps clothing. If he gets his way, Mexico will return to a PRI style one party dictatorship. Yes, Mexicans should demand an end to corruption and equity in the social, political, and economic realms. But AMLO and his party will not deliver those things.

Yes, Guanajuato is an stronghold of the right, the ignorance and irrational fanatism. Yuo are right, it's such an stronghold that probably they will be the last state to change to a progressist goverment like AMLO's. And unlikely to your opinion, me, as a mexican from Mexico City, I'm totally proud of AMLO's goverment as well about all his policies, from social justice to iinfraestructure policies and investment, as well as the recovering all our natural resources. But what can I tell you if you think like those in Guanajuato, it' a shame, but I don't worry, education will free you, even if it takes years, you'll be free too. You like it or not. Viva Mexico and Viva AMLO ;)
