I only had powdery mildew on one rose that was in a container. I realize that the rose just needed a good soak of water at the base so the plant. Most of the leaves are okay and I will pick off the infected leaves. Good air circulation helps too! Thanks for showing the little beetle and so good to know.

Thanks for the comment! Roses are very susceptible to powdery mildew. In the Netherlands the mildew in cut roses used to be controlled by burning sulphur every night. Since (and with better greenhouses) it is controlled just by maintaining precise humidity. Luckily, most rose breeders in the last 20 years or so were breeding pest and mildew (and black spot) resistance back into the cultivars. So we're in a much better place than we were.

I am wondering if I should pull off the infected leaves on my tree myself :/

Thank you for the video! I’ve been looking all over the internet to find a positive benefit to this mildew. My zinnias are currently covered in the stuff, but instead of getting rid of it or freaking out, I decided to learn more. I have lots of flowers right now and I’m waiting for them to brown so I can harvest the seeds, but now you’ve given me the confidence to leave them alone and see what happens :)

I'm happy to hear it. But keep in mind the mildew could be a sign of another issue: spacing can lead to poor airflow and result in mildew - so space flowers accordingly. And also check your soil. High nitrogen without the supporting cast can weaken the leaves and make them susceptible to mildew which would otherwise be there without you noticing. Good luck!

Awesome video! Very informative and explained really well. After 20 minutes searching the internet it was the only thing that correctly identified the mildew eating bugs on my zucchini. I am also less concerned about the powder and feel equipped to manage it. Thank you 😊

I planted a cherry tree which was about 2 feet high this Spring, its now about 3 feet high but today I went out and was surprised to see for the first time, all the new growth leaves in each section are covered in white mildew, and the new leaves are curling somewhat.
Should I pull these leaves off, or spray with baking soda and soap as is said online? It has been raining a lot and is in the 70s today. I'm not sure what to do about it. There is one ladybug on one of the leaves of the tree, just one....
