Death Wind II - F-Zero Expanded Soundtrack

Death Wind II is one of three tracks in F-Zero that utilizes the tile-switch function to change the main route to an alternate path, said alternate path on this particular track has been known for being tricky to traverse due to its sharp turns. Combined with the unpredictable bumpers / turbo snails, it is one hell of a track, especially for a certain golden machine...
Technically not related, but as I was looking through the spriter's resource today I found out that the bumper cars in F-Zero 99 have files that refer to them as "snail cars", I guess that shows just how much of an impact the F-Zero community has had on Nintendo!

Now we just need tornados hurtling across the track. Get caught in one of those and you're set back by 10 places...
The bassline in this version too is very ominous which I like, there's this droning humming noise in the centre which is in harmony with the wind

I'm really loving these so far. As somebody who has attempted Death Wind II multiple times, this perfectly encapsulates the feeling of trying to SURVIVE this living hell of a track. It's definitely one of the most difficult and nerve wracking tracks in Nintendo's racing game history.

funnily enough this is one of the 2 king league tracks that completely fucks my shit up in original f-zero
the other one is red canyon 2, i just die on the 2nd ramp in both red canyons. a lot

Death Wind is definitely my favorite course in the OG F-Zero purely because of the atmosphere. love what it does with so little, this does a good job expanding on that

Fire Field on the other hand, deserves its title for the most difficult track in SNES F-Zero.
